U.S. President Donald Trump has reacted to the appointment of Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as Iran’s new Supreme Leader. Trump said he was “disappointed” with the choice and expressed scepticism about the new leader. Mojtaba Khamenei was appointed by Iran’s Assembly of Experts following the assassination of his father, becoming the country’s top political and religious authority.
