Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss the ongoing Iran war and wider global issues. The Kremlin said the conversation lasted about one hour and was described as “frank and businesslike.”
According to Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov, Putin shared several proposals aimed at reaching a quick political and diplomatic settlement to the conflict. The two leaders also exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and developments in Venezuela.
The discussion also touched on the global oil market as tensions in West Asia continue to disrupt energy supplies and drive volatility in crude prices.
