Iran is entering a period of uncertainty following the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The killing took place on February 28 during strikes in Tehran amid the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel.
Following his death, Iran’s Assembly of Experts moved to select a successor and announced Mojtaba Khamenei, the late leader’s son, as the country’s new Supreme Leader.
