Turkish police detained nearly 500 people after anti-Syrian riots rocked several cities. The spreading unrest was sparked late on 30th June in the central city of Kayseri, after social media reports emerged of a Syrian man sexually abusing a female child relative. Properties and vehicles owned by Syrians were vandalised and set ablaze in Kayseri, and soon after, violence spread to several other provinces, including Istanbul.
