Pentagon says Beijing remains undecided on Taiwan's unification

Chinese President Xi Jinping has high ambitions for absorbing Taiwan into its fold but the Pentagon says Beijing remains undecided on the unification of the self-ruled island. Experts say that rather than launching an invasion Beijing is more likely to intensify the use of coercive measures against Taiwan, including diplomatic, economic, and military pressure coupled with cyber and psychological operations.
