North India Under Pollution Haze
The onset of Diwali season brings with it a haze of toxic air pollution over northern India. It's a mix of vehicular emissions, smoke from burning of crop residue and also supposedly the use of fireworks on and around Diwali. Any hopes of a solution are mired in politics with parties focusing on electoral gain over ending the plight due to air pollution each year.
