Protesters took to the streets of Myanmar to mark the 33rd anniversary of the 1988 pro-democracy uprising against the ruling military junta. Demonstrations took place in the main cities of Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing, and others demanding restoration of the ousted elected government of the civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
