In honor of International Women's Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced a reduction in cooking gas costs of Rs 100 per cylinder. The price cut, which is expected to assist approximately 33 crore households who use liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as cooking fuel, occurs just days before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be announced.
