Deployment of troops at the Line of Actual Control to continue for the fifth successive winter. Despite talks with China, India to maintain troop deployment on LAC amid trust deficit. Indian military to station troops in eastern Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh-Sikkim region. The decision comes as China continues to build ‘permanent defenses’ along the 3,488-km LAC. Indian Military source says PLA will not be returning to its peacetime locations shortly. Confirmation came as the Indian army readies to transition from its summer to winter posture.
