US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with his Chinese counterpart Quan Gang in Beijing. Blinken's trip to China is the highest level one taken by a US official in almost five years. As the two superpowers sought to defuse their escalating rivalry, both sides held talks in the hopes of enhancing communication and averting future conflict.
