Chile floods: Helicopters rescue flood-trapped families

Severe flooding has hit Chile’s Talagante region after the Mapocho River overflowed following record October rainfall. Police rescued at least 17 people by helicopter, with children and pets among those evacuated. Santiago recorded its wettest October in 76 years, while a strong El Niño event contributed to the unusually heavy rainfall.
