On Wednesday, China test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile for the first time in decades. China stated that it launched the ICBM carrying a dummy warhead into the Pacific Ocean. This is rare because China's nuclear weapons tests usually take place domestically. This is the first time since the 1980s that China launched an ICBM into international waters. Remember, an ICBM is a ballistic missile with a range greater than 5,500 kilometres and is primarily designed to carry nuclear weapons.
