China: Qin Gang becomes nation's youngest Foreign Minister

In an effort to smooth over their tense relations, Beijing and Washington have nominated Qin Gang, China's ambassador to the United States and a dependable assistant to President Xi Jinping, as their new foreign minister. Wang Yi, who served as foreign minister for the previous ten years, is replaced by Qin, 56.
