BRICS expansion plans draw solid interest
According to South Africa's way to the BRICS group, more than 40 countries have shown interest in joining the block which is likely to increase the organization's political influence as a whole of course. In 2009, Brazil, Russia, India and China founded the BRICS and in 2010 South Africa joined this group. In 2018, South Africa made a proposal for the expansion of BRICS however negotiations started only last year.
