Bizarre and rarely seen fish with translucent head
Scientists have captured rare footage of the barreleye fish, a deep-sea creature known for its unusual transparent head. Found in the ocean’s twilight zone, the fish has eyes inside its translucent dome, allowing it to scan the waters above for prey. Its remarkable adaptation also helps protect it while feeding on prey caught among the stinging tentacles of siphonophores.
