$2.5 Billion Settlement: Amazon has agreed to pay a historic $2.5 billion settlement to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) over allegations of deceptive practices in enrolling customers into Prime subscriptions without their consent and making cancellation difficult. The settlement includes a $1 billion civil penalty and $1.5 billion in refunds to approximately 35 million affected consumers.
