One of the world’s largest fast-food chains specialising in chicken - KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) is set to take on an almost unbelievable task.

The chain is undertaking 3D printing of its chicken nuggets. This will mark the first laboratory produced chicken to be available for consumption, but only in Russia.

Coming this year!

Beginning autumn of 2020, KFC, in partnership with 3D Bioprinting Solutions in Russia will roll out the artificially produced meat.

The release says that the company is attempting to imitate not only the physical characteristics of meat, but also its taste.&nbsp; It wants to create something "as close as possible in both taste and appearance" to “the famous KFC chicken.

As the global demands for alternative to animal meat picks up, KFC in a media release claims to have crafted the “meat of the future”.

“Our experiment in testing 3D bioprinting technology to create chicken products can also help address several looming global problems," Raisa Polyakova, the general manager of KFC Russia, said in a statement.

"We are glad to contribute to its development and are working to make it available to thousands of people in Russia and, if possible, around the world”, Polyakova added.

The testing of the final product should begin by the end of this year in Moscow. Work is underway to create an additive bio printing technology. It will use chicken cells along with plant material to recreate the taste and texture of meat. Reportedly, it will “almost” involve no animals.

Additive free

Biomeat usually carries the same characteristics and elements as the original meat, but in fact gets rid of all the additives that are used on the product for it to be produced, processed, treated, packaged, and stored. This way, the printed food will be much cleaner and additive free.

"3D bioprinting technologies, initially widely recognized in medicine, are nowadays gaining popularity in producing foods such as meat," Yusef Khesuani, co-founder of 3D Bioprinting Solutions said in a release.

While citing a study done by the American Environmental Science &amp; Technology Journal, KFC claimed that growing meat from cells will significantly cut down the negative impact on the environment. In turn, this will cut down energy consumption by over half.

Elon Musk’s startup intended to map and control the brain, “Neuralink” will reportedly allow you to stream music into your brain directly.

The startup and its vision will be shared with the world on August 28. In response to the computer scientist Austin Howard’s question about being able to stream music directly into your brain on Sunday - July 19, Musk responded with a coy “yes”. If there were to be true, headphones could become a thing of the past very soon.

"Yes"

Very little has been revealed about the startup. The only glimpse so far was in 2019 during a keynote, whereby the company showcased a device which was connected to the brain using holes in the skull, which were drilled by lasers.

This has little to do with pleasure, but more with scientific betterment. If the brain can be accessed and remotely controlled, diseases that render one inept like Parkinson’s might finally be controllable.

Speaking on a podcast, Musk asserted how this tech could help repair broken neural connections in people suffering extreme brain disorders.

The brain-mapping technology’s plans to beam music into one’s brain have not been revealed yet. No detail on how this will be achieved without bypassing the ear and other body restraints in the way.

Chemicals? You bet!

But this isn’t it! Musk also claims that the technology could release chemicals into the brain which affect one’s functioning. Brain chemicals decide one’s ability to feel sad and happy. In a case of imbalance, one tilts to one extreme.

He also invited problem solvers to apply to work at the company. “If you’ve solved hard problems with phones/ wearables (sealing, signal processing, inductive charging, power management, etc.), please consider working at [Neuralink],” the mogul tweeted out.

While responding to a tweet about whether the devices could “stimulate the release oxytocin, serotonin, and other chemicals when needed”, without giving any details, the tech guru responded with another “yes”.

The technology to send music straight to one’s brain already exists, but its functioning is different. It does this by sending vibrations to the skull. On the other hand, Neuralink intends to do this by stimulating neurones.

The app is called PROSIT and includes tracking features like exercise, sleep, call frequency, message histories and music tastes. An emotionally charged state can be detected with your typing speed and the force you use.&nbsp;

The App will also ask the users to record a 90-second audio clip to talk about their best and exciting part of the week. They (users) will be asked to self-report their feelings on a five-point scale.

PROSIT is currently is under the testing stage where about 300 people are using this app. Half among the users are patients.&nbsp;

Privacy concerns have hit the users a lot of times and the developers are well aware of it. To tackle this issue, the use of app requires a signed consent and the data will be stored in a secure location.&nbsp;

PROSIT does not provide a complete analysis of one's mental health but could prove useful for the psychologists track and better understand their patients’ development outside of sessions.&nbsp;

The world has witnessed a rise in mental health issues due to the coronavirus pandemic. The researchers from the University College London (UCL) in the UK found that one in four people hospitalised with COVID-19 may experience delirium during their illness.

The post-recovery effects of COVID-19 are not yet known, so long-term risks such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), chronic fatigue, depression, and anxiety are based on SARS and MERS studies, which may or may not apply to COVID-19 as well.

The tech giant&nbsp;has&nbsp;developed a technique that could cover a vast area. Google said that it is using existing fibre to detect disturbances on the seafloor. The company said in a blog post: “Better yet, our technique relies on equipment that is present on the vast majority of the world’s existing fiber optic systems, so it is broadly applicable.”&nbsp;

According to Google, these optic fibres can connect different continents to the ocean floor through which most of the&nbsp;internet’s international traffic&nbsp;too travels. “Google’s global network of undersea cables makes it possible to share, search, send, and receive information around the world at the speed of light,” it added.

These cables are made of optic fibres that could carry the data in the form of a light pulse travelling at 204,190 kilometres per second.&nbsp;

The receiving end detects these light pulses and a digital signal processor is used to correct distortions. When tracked as a&nbsp;part of optical transmission, the light&nbsp;is in the state of polarization (SOP). “The SOP changes in response to mechanical disturbances along the cable and tracking these disturbances enables us to detect seismic activity,” Google said.

Google began the project in 2013 and conducted its first experiment in 2019. Since then the technology has detected mild intensity earthquakes in Mexico and Chile. If successfully implemented, this tech could save millions of lives!

A judge of US district court in California has granted permission for WhatsApp lawsuit against Israeli spyware firm NSO to proceed.

In a ruling Judge Phyllis Hamilton said she allowed the case to procced as she had not been entirely persuaded by NSO Group’s argument that it had no role in the targeting of WhatsApp’s users.&nbsp;

According to Judge Hamilton it appears that NSO Group ''retained some role'' in the targeting of individuals, ''even if it was at the direction of their customers''.

Earlier, an Israeli court on Monday rejected a bid by rights group Amnesty International to revoke the export license of spyware firm NSO Group over hacking allegations.&nbsp;

NSO has faced multiple accusations of cyber-espionage on human rights activists and others, including by the messaging service WhatsApp, which is suing the company in a US court. &nbsp;

Many of the allegations have centred on the company's Pegasus product, a highly invasive tool that can reportedly switch on a target's cellphone camera and microphone and access data on it, effectively turning the phone into a pocket spy.

Amnesty claimed the technology was used against one of its staffers and petitioned a Tel Aviv court to revoke its defence ministry issued export licence.&nbsp;

The rights group added that NSO's products are helping governments commit rights violations "from Saudi Arabia to Mexico".

NSO has been in the headlines since 2016 when researchers accused it of helping spy on an activist in the United Arab Emirates.

Founded in 2010 by Israelis Shalev Hulio and Omri Lavie, NSO Group is based in the Israeli hi-tech hub of Herzliya, near Tel Aviv.&nbsp;

It says it employs 600 people in Israel and around the world.

Twitter Inc said on Saturday that hackers were able to download account information for up to eight accounts involved in the hack of its systems this week, but said none of them were verified accounts.

The company said the unidentified attackers targetted 130 accounts, and were able to reset passwords to take control of 45 of them and tweet from those accounts.

Hackers accessed Twitter's internal systems to hijack some of the platform's top voices including US presidential candidate Joe Biden, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, former US President Barack Obama and billionaire Elon Musk and used them to solicit digital currency.

Publically available blockchain records show the apparent scammers received more than $100,000 worth of cryptocurrency.

In the attack that occurred on Wednesday, Twitter said hackers were able to view personal information including email addresses and phone numbers of the 130 targeted accounts, but unable to view previous account passwords.

"In cases where an account was taken over by the attacker, they may have been able to view additional information", Twitter said in the statement without specifying the type of information accessed.

Hackers may have also attempted to sell the user names of some of the accounts, it said.
The high-profile accounts that were hacked also included rapper Kanye West, Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos, investor Warren Buffett, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, and the corporate accounts for Uber and Apple.

In its latest statement, Twitter said attackers "manipulated a small number of employees" to gain access to the internal support tools used in the hack.

The company said it was holding back some of the details of the attack as it continues its investigation and reiterated that it was working with impacted account owners.

The FBI's San Francisco division is leading an inquiry into the hacking, with many Washington lawmakers also calling for an account of how it happened.

In its latest statement, Twitter said attackers "manipulated a small number of employees" to gain access to the internal support tools used in the hack. Also read | Twitter accounts of Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Bill Gates and others hit in major hack The company said it was holding back some of the details of the attack as it continues its investigation and reiterated that it was working with impacted account owners. The FBI's San Francisco division is leading an inquiry into the hacking, with many Washington lawmakers also calling for an account of how it happened.

Twitter says attackers downloaded data from up to eight non-verified accounts

High-profile users in America were in for a shock as accounts of major companies and individuals were compromised. In a blitzkrieg, Bitcoin scammers targetted some of the most recognisable faces on Twitter.

Elon Musk's account posted the first of the mysterious tweets - it asked the Twitterati to send money to a Bitcoin wallet address which is like a bank account number for Bitcoin transactions.

Followers were told their money will be doubled. Soon, former president Barack Obama, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, the world's richest man - Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Microsoft's billionaire founder Bill Gates, the i-Phone maker Apple and several other verified accounts began tweeting similar posts.

<div class="videoWrapper trancodeVideo"><iframe allowfullscreen="" autoplay="1" class="includeVideo" frameborder="0" height="350" src="https://www.wionews.com/videos/gravitas-can-twitter-survive-the-bitcoin-scam-313869/embed" style="width:100%;max-width:560px;" width="560"></iframe></div>

Millions of users follow these accounts and they fell into a trap. So far, the hacker has pocketed over 100,000 dollars but it took Twitter two hours to respond to the rapid hacks. For the first time ever it froze all verified accounts and all fake tweets were deleted but they began to reappear as fast as they were being erased.

The hacker was in total control as Twitter's two-step verification was easily breached. Twitter had an embarrassing answer - it said the hacker gained access to Twitter employee’s admin privileges. Technically, Twitter was the first to get hacked in the fiasco. CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted saying he feels terrible over what has happened but it is not the first time the social media platform has been hacked.

Last year Dorsey's account was hijacked and the company promised to fix the loopholes.

Clearly, it has not done enough and now the platform is facing its biggest scandal - the head of products at Twitter Kayvon Beykpour said sorry to users. However, it may not be enough to quieten the outrage. Politicians are a worried lot in the run upto to the US presidential election.

Republican Senator Josh Hawley has already written to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. The letter lists immediate concerns, reserving the most important question to the end: did the attack threaten the security of President Donald Trump's Twitter account?

The concern is justified, the hacker could have had a field day with Trump's account. Whoever is behind the hacking could have caused more damage as the access they had is unprecedented.

They were after money, hence caused no major harm to reputations, but Twitter will have to answer tough questions. It won't be long before investigation agencies come knocking.

Can Twitter really come out of this with its reputation intact?

US President Donald Trump's economic adviser Larry Kudlow has said that TikTok may cut off ties to its Chinese parent and become a 100 per cent American company to circumvent demands to ban it as India has done.

"I think TikTok is going to pull out of the holding company which is China-run and operate as an independent American company," he told reporters at the White House on Thursday.

The US has not made a final decision on whether to ban it, which has been suggested by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, he said.

TikTok being divested by ByteDance Technology Company "is a much better solution than banning or pushing away", said Kudlow, who is the Director of the National Economic Council.

He said that its services will be located in the US and "it will become an hundred per cent American company".

If it becomes a US company without Chinese links, India may have to reconsider the ban on the short video app wildly popular in the country.

India banned TikTok along with 58 other Chinese apps on June 29 citing threats to its defence and national security.

The ban came after a deadly clash between Indian and Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh.

Under Beijing's National Security Law, all Chinese companies have to provide intelligence requested by the government, creating risks for users and their countries.

India was TikTok's biggest market outside of China, where it operates as Douyin. There were about 200 million users in India and over 300 million downloads. The United States comes next with over 30 million users for the app.

The official Twitter accounts of Apple, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and others were hijacked on Wednesday by scammers in a massive hack -- who according to cyber police were trying to dupe people into sending cryptocurrency bitcoin.

The list of accounts&nbsp;includes Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Uber, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, bitcoin specialty firms and many others.

"We are aware of a security incident impacting accounts on Twitter," the messaging service said in a tweet. "We are investigating and taking steps to fix it. We will update everyone shortly."

In response,&nbsp;Twitter locked down Biden campaign's hacked account quickly and removed the bogus tweet. The social media platform had disabled the ability to tweet from validated accounts, those with the official blue checkmarks.

Google`s YouTube and other online platforms are not liable when users upload illegal copyrighted works onto their platforms but rightholders can ask for injunctions against the companies, a European Union Court of Justice adviser said on Thursday.

EU judges, who have followed such opinions in four out of five cases, rule on the issue in the coming months.

Police worldwide have taken to technology to fight crime and undetake surveillance operations with the help of drones but a unique startup in Chicago named Benchmark Analytics has come up with a software to pointout police behaviour which the Minneapolis&nbsp;Police Department is looking at very seriously in the aftermath of George Floyd's murder by a police officer.

The announcement was made earlier by police chief Medaria Arradondo. The software has been jointly developed by University of Chicago. The model with the help of algorithms is reportedly able to predict which cop is likely to engage in improper behaviour.

The system takes into account complaints filed by residents, profile of policemen and then ranks them on their "risk" factor.

According to the company's CEO Ron Huberman it combines the University of Chicago's analytical technology with the police department's data to arrive at a conclusion by generating a daily score. It helps the department to work with the cop and help the person to be coached before an official complaint is raised.

The technology helps to negate the possibility of a one-off behaviour by a cop which could lead to mishandling of an incident rather it analysies a pattern of behaviour so that corrective steps can be taken beforehand.

The company has said the &nbsp;predictive data is being used by several law enforcement agencies with Nashville set to flag off the techonlogy shortly.

However, the technology is also dependent on the quality of data and lack of accuracy could hamper its pin-point usage, also the technology is expensive which not every agency or departement can afford.

Nashville's department has reportedly paid $455,000 for a three-year contract, although some agencies have reported it is a three-year deal. The licensed product which is now being widely put on display for commercial purposes has been a point of contention among officials.

Amazon is set to expand its grocery stores very soon, starting in the US state of California. To make the stores future ready, it will use a system being pegged as “Dash Carts”, which will employ sensors and cameras to lodge items in one’s cart, so that the invoice may be generated.

Every cart will be equipped with softwares complementing the sensors to identify items being put in the card, and the number of items and their price will be reflected on a display, as per Amazon.

However, to be able to use the Dash Cart feature, buyers will need the Amazon application, which will sync data based on the QR codes, after which the payment will be made through a credit card saved in the system.

In a bid for more automation and less dependence on manpower, the company has been testing its “just walk out” systems which allow a cashier less experience at grocery stores.

Google has received a record fine from Belgium's data protection authority (APD) of 600,000 euros for not complying with European rules on a person's "right to be forgotten" online.

The 600,000 euro penalty is the largest ever imposed by APD, it said on Tuesday, and more than 10 times bigger than the authority's previous record penalty.

Google failed to remove links from its search results to articles which APD said were "obsolete" and damaging to the reputation of a person with a public profile in Belgium.

The news articles, which appeared in results linked to the person's name, related to unfounded complaints of harassment. Google was "negligent" in deciding not to remove the links, given that the company had evidence that the facts were irrelevant and out of date, APD said.

Google said it intends to appeal the decision in court, and had worked hard to "strike a sensible, principled balance between people's rights of access to information and privacy."&nbsp;

"We didn't believe this case met the European Court of Justice's criteria for delisting published journalism from search — we thought it was in the public's interest that this reporting remain searchable," a Google spokesperson said.

The EU's top court enshrined the "right to be forgotten" principle in 2014 when it ruled that people could ask search engines like Google to remove inadequate or irrelevant information from web results appearing under searches for their names.

APD also ordered Google to stop referencing the pages inside Europe, and provide clearer information on which entities are responsible for handling "right to be forgotten" requests.

More than 2,500 mobile games were removed from Apple's China app store in the first week of July, four times as many in the same period in June.&nbsp;

This happened after Apple closed a loophole to comply with Chinese licence requirements. Apple had given publishers of revenue-generating games a deadline of end-June to submit a government-issued licence number that allows them to make in-app purchases.

Notable games removed from China's App Store in July so far include Supercell's farming hit "Hay Day", "Nonstop Chuck Norris" from Flaregames and "Solitaire" from Zynga, according to SensorTower.

The games removed in the first seven days of July had generated a combined $34.7 million in lifetime gross revenue in China, and had accumulated more than 133 million downloads in the country.

China has tightened its control over the world's largest video-game market in recent years and online games seeking to monetise often face a lengthy approval process to obtain a licence.

In February, video game "Plague Inc", which surged in popularity amid the coronavirus outbreak, was removed from Apple's China app store after regulators said it contained illegal content. The game did not have a proper licence and analysts say it was unlikely to get one.

A lawsuit seeking class action status has alleged Alphabet Inc's Google of recording what people are doing on hundreds of thousands of mobile apps even when they follow the company's recommended settings for stopping such monitoring.

The data privacy lawsuit is the second filed in two months against Google by the law firm Boies Schiller Flexner on behalf a handful of individual consumers. The firm's clients also have included Google competitors such as Facebook Inc and Oracle Corp.

The new complaint, filed in a US district court on Tuesday in San Jose, accuses Google of violating federal wiretap law and California privacy law by logging what users are looking at in news, ride-hailing and other types of apps despite them having turned off "Web &amp; App Activity" tracking in their Google account settings.

The lawsuit alleges the data collection happens through Google's Firebase, a set of software popular among app makers for storing data, delivering notifications and ads, and tracking glitches and clicks. Firebase typically operates inside apps invisibly to consumers.

Google uses some Firebase data to improve its products and personalise ads and other content for consumers, according to the lawsuit.

US antitrust investigators have been looking into whether Google has unlawfully stifled competition in advertising and other businesses by effectively making Firebase unavoidable.

In its case last month, Boies Schiller Flexner accused Google of surreptitiously recording Chrome browser users' activity even when they activated what Google calls Incognito mode. Google said it would fight the claim.

Apple's clash with EU competition regulators comes to a head on Wednesday as Europe's second-highest court rules on whether it has to pay 13 billion euros ($15 billion) in Irish back taxes, a key part of the EU's crackdown against sweetheart tax deals.

In its order four years ago, the European Commission said Apple benefited from illegal state aid via two Irish tax rulings that artificially reduced its tax burden for over two decades - to as low as 0.005% in 2014.

Defeat for European Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager could weaken or delay pending cases against Ikea's and Nike's deals with the Netherlands, as well as Huhtamaki's agreement with Luxembourg.

Vestager, who has made the tax crackdown a centrepiece of her time in office, saw the same court last year overturn her demand for Starbucks to pay up to 30 million euros in Dutch back taxes. In another case, the court also threw out her ruling against a Belgian tax scheme for 39 multinationals.&nbsp;

The Apple dispute is seen by some analysts as a lose-lose situation for Ireland, which has appealed against the Commission's order alongside the iPhone maker.&nbsp;

While 14 billion euros - including interest - would go a long way to plugging the coronavirus-shaped hole in the state's finances, Dublin is seeking to protect a low tax regime that has attracted 250,000 multinational employers.

If Ireland's appeal succeeds, the government will be ridiculed by opposition parties for not taking the cash, which could cover at least half of a budget deficit forecast to balloon to as much as 10% of GDP this year.

Should Ireland lose, the government will be castigated by the same politicians for launching the appeal. A ruling in favour of the Commission could also raise questions about the application of Ireland's tax code at a sensitive time, when new global rules for taxing digital giants are being debated.

Defeat could also hurt Ireland's ability to attract investment, although the promotional blitz undertaken after the Commission's 2016 decision appears to have worked. The numbers employed by multinationals like Apple, Facebook and Google have grown by 25%, accounting for one in ten Irish workers.

For Apple, defeat would be a blow, but manageable given its cash holdings topped $190 billion at the end of its fiscal second quarter.&nbsp;

The cases are T-778/16 Ireland v Commission and T-892/16 Apple Sales International and Apple Operations Europe v Commission. The defeated side can appeal on points of law to the EU Court of Justice, Europe's highest court.

China said Wednesday it will take necessary measures to safeguard its own interests following Britains decision to purge all Huawei 5G network equipment from the country.

A German court on Tuesday has ruled that specific terms used by electric car company Tesla for its assistance feature including the 'Autopilot' are false advertisement.

A German court on Tuesday has ruled that specific terms used by electric car company Tesla for its assistance feature including the 'Autopilot' are false advertisement. The judges at the higher state court in Munich said that Tesla's offer on 'Autopilot' as an option to buy a Model 3 vehicle with "full potential for autonomous driving" were "misleading business acts". In a statement, the court said: "Use of the relevant terms creates an expectation... that does not correspond to the actual facts." According to the judge's findings, Tesla's "Autopilot" does not enable a trip without any human intervention at all such a technology be legal under present German law. The case was brought up by an NGO called the Centre for Combatting Unfair Competition that said Tesla's autonomous driving technology at best reaches level two on a five-point scale in which five corresponds to completely driverless travel. "Since auto-piloted, autonomous driving is neither legally permitted nor technically possible for the vehicle in question, Tesla has to play by the rules and cannot make false advertising promises," the centre's lawyer Andreas Ottofuelling said in a statement. However, the court's ruling is not final and it can be appealed. (Inputs from AFP)

Apple may have paid $950 million to Samsung for not meeting its goals in terms of the number of OLED screen it had ordered.

The iPhone maker depends on Samsung to procure Organic Light Emitting Diodes screens. Samsung makes over 40 per cent of all OLED screens in the world. With its AMOLED displays, it has a 98 per cent share of screens in the market. Out of the $400 million yearly revenue from screens over $100 million is generated by Samsung alone.

The report, which was published by Display Supply Chain Consultants suggests a one-time payment for falling short in terms of product acquirement.

"One-time gain"

During its Q2 2020 release, Samsung made a reference to a “one-time gain” coming from its screen display enterprise. However, no clear indication of Apple’s involvement or amount was mentioned in this report.

Last month, reports of Samsung receiving over $700 million circulated on social media. But this new revelation pins the approximate amount at $950 million.

The report also mentioned how this affects the profit for Samsung. “The Apple payment likely turned what otherwise would have been an operating loss for display devices into an operating profit,” it said.

The revenue incurred from screens was down by 7 per cent for Samsung, while its operation profit was up by 23 per cent, much higher than expected.

Not the first time

This is not the first time Apple has paid a hefty amount to Samsung. In 2019, a similar penalty was enforced by Samsung for not buying enough OLED screens. For perspective - let’s say Apple placed an order for 20 million screens, but due to market fluctuations and demands, was only able to accommodate 15 million screens. The value of the 5 million screens would then have to be paid to Samsung, or made up by procuring even more screens from the company, which is exactly what happened last year.

Most big companies make deals with screen makers with a guaranteed purchase of a minimum number of screens, which lowers the total cost of buying them. As part of the contract, inability to fulfil this imposes fine on the buyer.

It is likely that this year’s disruption will be attributed to COVID-19, which has caused a global slowdown of selling and buying power. Factories have also remained shut in the face of growing concerns about social distancing to conquer the virus.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to ban Huawei from Britain's 5G network in a landmark decision as the United States grapples with China's rising economic and technological clout.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to ban Huawei from Britain's 5G network in a landmark decision as the United States grapples with China's rising economic and technological clout. The decision is likely to anger Beijing but win praise from President Donald Trump. The United States has pushed Johnson to reverse his January decision to grant Huawei a limited role in 5G, while London is disappointed by a crackdown in Hong Kong and by the perception that China did not tell the whole truth over coronavirus. Britain's National Security Council (NSC), chaired by Johnson, will meet on Tuesday to discuss Huawei. Media Secretary Oliver Dowden will announce a decision to the House of Commons later in the day. The immediate excuse to reverse the British policy is the impact of new US sanctions on chip technology, which London says affects Huawei's ability to remain a reliable supplier in the future. It is unclear how far Johnson will go on Tuesday. Operators already had to cap Huawei's role in 5G at 35% by 2023. Reducing it to zero over an additional two to fours years is now being discussed, although some telecoms firms have warned that going too fast could delay key technology and disrupt services. The United States says Huawei, the world's biggest producer of telecoms equipment, is an agent of the Chinese Communist State and cannot be trusted. Huawei denies it spies for China and has said the United States wants to frustrate its growth because no U.S. company could offer the same range of technology at a competitive price. Tech giant Google on Monday announced that it will be setting up an India digitisation fund worth $10 billion (approximately ₹ 75,000 crores), which it will be deploying over the next 5-7 years to help India go digital.

"We will do this through a mix of equity investment, partnerships and an operational infrastructure ecosystem in India. This is a reflection of our confidence in the future of India and its digital economy," Google CEO Sundar Pichai said during the Google for India virtual conference.

"Second, building new products and services that are deeply relevant to India`s unique needs. Third, empowering businesses to continue or embark on digital transformation. And fourth, leveraging technology and Artificial Intelligence for social good in areas like health, agriculture and education," the Google CEO said.

"This is a reflection of our confidence in the future of India and its digital economy," Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet, said on a webcast during the annual ‘Google for India’ event.

Remembering the old Doordarshan days Pichai said that "Every evening we were drawn to the television by Doordarshan’s special rendition of “Sare Jahan Se Accha.” I tried to explain this to my colleagues the other day, but I eventually gave up and just showed it to them on YouTube."
