A man in Illinois has alleged that an off-duty police officer, who was working as a school security guard, manhandled his 12-year-daughter while trying to restrain her during a fight at a Wisconsin middle school last year. Jerrel Perez said in a lawsuit that Shawn Guetschow used an illegal chokehold to restrain the girl, leaving her with lasting injuries.&nbsp;

The lawsuit, which was filed Monday, sees Perez allege that Guetschow improperly restrained his daughter during the March 4, 2022 altercation at Lincoln Middle School in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Guetschow is a Kenosha police officer as well but was not on duty at the time of the incident, officials have said.

The lawsuit says Guetschow pushed his right knee into the back of the girl's neck while pushing her head into the cafeteria floor. He placed his entire body weight against the girl's neck, restraining a child using unreasonable force.

Perez also said in the lawsuit that his daughter was&nbsp;unable to breathe while Guetschow pressed his knee on her neck. She suffered a traumatic brain injury and is now suffering from recurring headaches, according to the lawsuit.

Notably, Wisconsin had passed a law in 2021 that prohibits the police from using chokeholds. It can only be used as a last resort. Several other states have passed similar statutes following widespread protests over George Floyd's death.

The law does not mention any penalties for officers that employ chokeholds. Prosecutors can decide whether other charges such as assault or reckless endangerment might apply in such situations.&nbsp;

Court records show that Guetschow was not charged in the school incident.&nbsp;

The Kenosha Unified School District released a video of the incident on March 18. Guetschow can be seen trying to break up a fight between two girls in the video. He then falls to the ground with one of the girls and later gets on top of her, while holding her down and putting his knee on her neck for 22 seconds.

Residents in the US state of Wisconsin have shared videos of strange lights in the skies this month in what is being seen as a possible Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) sighting. A report by the Daily Mail on Monday said the videos from December 1 showed white lights zipping across the sky over the rolling farmland near West Bend and Fredonia.&nbsp;The lights, which were moving at an incredible speed and appeared to have come from above the thin cloud layer on the night of December 1, left witnesses believing that they saw a UFO. The Daily Mail obtained the videos from two Wisconsin residents — Kimberly and Ken.&nbsp;

Kimberly, who is a salon owner from West Bend, shared videos of the possible UFO sighting after she saw bright lights flashing over the sky while she was driving on a rural road in West Bend at around 10.45 pm on December 1.&nbsp;

At the same time, Ken, a former police officer and financial services worker in Fredonia, spotted the strange lights in the sky over the fields outside his house and recorded the phenomenon.

Videos shared by these two Wisconsin residents captured a moment where four of the lights appear in a row and a fifth light, flying from the left, joins the formation, the Daily Mail report on Monday said.&nbsp;

Another resident of the US state- Andrea Lynn, also saw these strange lights in the sky on December 1. Taking to Facebook, Lynn shared four videos of the sighting outside her house about 80 miles north in Howard.

These lights were seen in Wisconsin on December 2 as well. About 35 miles away in Greenfield, Chris Novak was travelling with his family in a car to the Candy Cane Lane lights in West Allis. Novak's wife alerted him about odd lights in the sky as the car was heading north on Interstate 43 over the Fox River overpass at about 6.55 pm on December 2, the report added. &nbsp;

This news of a possible UFO sighting in the US comes as the Pentagon received several hundreds of new UFO reports but there was no evidence of alien life so far. The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), a new Pentagon office, was set up in July this year to track unidentified objects in the sky, underwater or in space.

Last Friday,&nbsp;the AARO's director Dr Sean Kirkpatrick told reporters that the Pentagon received several hundreds of new UFO reports. Dr Kirkpatrick did not rule out the possibility of extraterrestrial life and said he was taking a scientific approach to the research.&nbsp;

The police announced on Wednesday that the suspect arrested in connection to the mass shooting at July 4 parade in Highland Park, Illinois was planning a second attack while on the run. It took around ten hours for the police to find the suspect after the gunfire and while driving to nearby Madison, Wisconsin, he was going to carry out another attack, the police said in their statement.

"He did see a celebration that was occurring in Madison and he seriously contemplated using the firearm he had in his vehicle to commit another shooting," Christopher Covelli said.

The suspect voluntarily confessed to the authorities about the shooting, according to Prosecutor Ben Dillion, and Judge Theodore Potkonjak ordered him to be held without bail. Crimo, who was charged with seven counts of fight-degree murder, will be appearing for a preliminary hearing on July 28.

Earlier, Lake County's State's Attorney Eric Rinehart said that they have charged the Highland Park parade mass shooting suspect - Robert E. Crimo III - with seven counts of first-degree murder.

Highland Park shooting suspect plotted second attack in Wisconsin, prosecutor says

One person has died and four people have been seriously injured in a Fourth of July shooting at a residence in Kenosha, Wisconsin, police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. at a home in the 6300 block of 25th Avenue when authorities responded to reports of a shooting at the house and encountered a “chaotic scene with obvious evidence of multiple gunshots being fired,” according to a statement released by the City of Kenosha Police Department.

Officers have a house surrounded by crime scene tape as the investigation into the July Fourth shooting continues. Authorities say they do not have a suspect in custody and have not commented on a possible motive.

“There were five victims from this shooting, all adults,” authorities continued. “One of the victims is deceased. The other four victims were transported to local hospitals with two being transferred to Milwaukee area hospitals due to serious injuries.”

As of now, the Kenosha Police Department say there is no known motive, no suspects in custody and that the investigation into the shooting is “open and active.”

Angelito Tenorio, who is running for Wisconsin state treasurer, was at the parade. He told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he "saw an SUV cross over, just put the pedal to the metal and just zooming full speed along the parade route."

"And then we heard a loud bang, and just deafening cries and screams from people who are struck by the vehicle," he added.&nbsp;

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers said he and his wife were "praying for Waukesha tonight and all the kids, families, and community members affected by this senseless act."

"We are in contact with local partners as we await more information," he added.

The five-minute video released by Gableman comes nearly three months after Robin Vos, the Republican speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly, assigned him to look into former President Donald Trump’s false claims that the state’s election was stolen from him.

The Republicans’ continuing effort to re-examine the 2020 results in Wisconsin comes as Trump allies elsewhere have gone to great lengths to undermine Biden’s victory. Arizona Republicans are near the end of a monthslong review of ballots in Maricopa County; Pennsylvania Republicans last week approved subpoenas for driver’s license and partial Social Security numbers for every voter in the state; and 18 states, including Texas this month, have passed laws this year adding new voting restrictions.

In recent weeks, Trump-allied conservatives in Wisconsin have shown public frustration at the pace and transparency of Gableman’s investigation. This month, a group led by David A. Clarke Jr., a former Milwaukee County sheriff who has been a prominent purveyor of false claims about the election, held a rally at the state Capitol in Madison to protest what it argued was insufficient devotion by Gableman and the state’s Republican leaders to challenging the 2020 results.

Gableman said Monday that his investigation would require the municipal officials who operate Wisconsin’s elections to prove that voting was conducted properly. He said local clerks would be required to obey any subpoenas he might issue.

Election clerks in Milwaukee and Green Bay ignored previous subpoenas issued by the Republican chairwoman of the Assembly’s elections committee for ballots and voting machines. Vos had declined to approve those subpoenas.

“The responsibility to demonstrate that our elections were conducted with fairness, inclusivity and accountability is on the government and on the private, for-profit interests that did work for the government,” Gableman said. “The burden is not on the people to show in advance of an investigation that public officials and their contractors behaved dishonestly.”

Gableman added that he did not plan to release information to the public on a regular time frame but would do so when he found it appropriate.

“My job as special counsel is to gather all relevant information and, while I will draw my own conclusions, my goal is to put everything I know and everything I learn before you, the citizen, so that you can make up your own mind,” he said.

The chairman of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, Ben Wikler, said the Gableman video was evidence that state Republicans were at odds with one another over how far the election investigation should go.

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul tweeted shortly before 10 pm that the scene “is contained. There is no longer a threat to the community.” He gave no other details and an agency spokeswoman didn't immediately respond to a message.&nbsp;

The Oneida Casino in Green Bay tweeted Saturday there was an active shooter at the casino. Spokeswoman Bobbi Webster said later that “individuals” had been shot, but she didn't have information on how many of their conditions, and didn't know whether the shooter was still at large.&nbsp;

Webster cited Oneida police and casino security for her information. She said people were being cleared out of the casino and nearby properties.

“We do not know where the individual was shooting, or (where) individuals were shot,” Webster said.

The Oneida Casino is operated by the Oneida Nation. Webster said the casino is connected to a large hotel and conference centre, the Radisson, also owned by the Oneida Nation.

Gambler Max Westphal said he was standing outside after being evacuated for what he thought was a minor issue.

“All of a sudden we hear a massive flurry of gunshots — 20 to 30 gunshots for sure,” Westphal told WBAY-TV.

“We took off running towards the highway ... There had to have been 50 cop cars that came by on the highway. It was honestly insane.”

The Oneida tribe's reservation lies on the west side of the Green Bay area.

While the world is struggling to get access to coronavirus vaccine, a&nbsp;pharmacist was caught purposely ruining nearly&nbsp;500 doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine in a hospital in Wisconsin, US.

An employee of&nbsp;Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Wisconsin, the pharmacist&nbsp;deliberately removed vaccine from the refrigerator to spoil the doses being saved for locals of the area. Nearly 57 vials of&nbsp;vaccine were found left out of cold storage earlier this week, officials reported.

The pharmacist has since been fired for the blunder, although the reason behind this sabotage has not been made clear yet by the authorities or the pharmaceutical company.

While the doses were thrown out, Dr. Jeff Bahr, Aurora Health Care Medical Group president has reported that Moderna Inc has assured that any recipients of the&nbsp;refrigerated vaccine shot will not be facing any side effects.

The defeat on a 4-3 ruling was the latest in a string of losses for Trump's post-election lawsuits. Judges in multiple battleground states have rejected his claims of fraud or irregularities.&nbsp;

His lawsuit echoed claims that were earlier rejected by election officials in those counties during a recount that barely affected Biden's winning margin of about 20,700 votes.

Trump's attorney Jim Troupis said he would immediately file the case in circuit court and expected to be back before the Supreme Court very soon.

Trump had argued that there wasn't enough time to wage the legal battle by starting with a lower court, given the looming December 14 date when presidential electors cast their votes.

Trump's lawsuit challenged procedures that have been in place for years and never been found to be illegal. He claimed there were thousands of absentee ballots without a written application on file.

Trump also challenged absentee ballots where voters declared themselves to be indefinitely confined.&nbsp;

The Wisconsin Supreme Court in March ruled that it was up to individual voters to determine their status.

The court late Thursday also declined to hear a lawsuit brought by a Wisconsin resident, Dean Mueller, that argued that ballots placed in drop boxes are illegal and must not be counted.
