<p>With effect from 30 May 2023, the United States increased some nonimmigrant visa (NIV) application processing costs, making student and tourist visas more expensive, as per US State Department.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The application fee has gone up from $160 to $185 for visitor visas for business or tourism (B1/B2s), as well as other non-petition-based NIVs including student and exchange visitor visas.</p>

<p>For several petition-based nonimmigrant worker visas, H, L, O, P, Q, and R categories, the application fee has increased from $190 to $205.</p>

<p>H, L, O, P, Q, and R visas are for temporary workers, those who wish to visit the United States for employment that will last a set amount of time. There are several categories exist within them based on the nature of employment.</p>

<p>All other consular fees remain&nbsp;unchanged. No further fees will be assessed to applicants who have previously paid a valid and non-expiring visa application fee but have not yet appeared for their visa interview or are awaiting their case processing.</p>

<p>Any fee payment&nbsp;for a visa interview made on or after 1 October 2022 is valid for 365 days from the day the fee payment invoice was issued.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The validity of fees paid by applicants prior to October 1, 2022 will last through 30 September, 2023.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per State Department, visa fees are determined based on the findings of an annual review of service costs. The majority of non-petition-based NIV costs last underwent an upgrade in 2012, while certain additional NIV fees underwent an update in 2014.</p>

<p>"Visas for work and tourism are essential to President Biden’s foreign policy, and we recognize the critical role international travel plays in the U.S. economy," the US State Department said in a statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In 2019, China welcomed 65.7 million international visitors, according to the UN World Tourism Organisation's data, before the coronavirus pandemic forced the country to seal its border from the rest of the world.</p>

<p>While many countries began welcoming international travellers and reopening their economies earlier, China started to emerge from its Covid containment policies in late 2022, after the country witnessed rare demonstrations against President Xi Jinping's signature zero-Covid strategy.</p>

<p>In December, China ended its mass testing, lifted lockdowns and stopped long quarantines, however, the sudden lift of strict Covid restrictions led to a spike in Covid cases.</p>

<p>“The existing arrangement of visa-free entry into Serbia for all Indian passport holders for staying in Serbia up to 30 days has been withdrawn by the Government of Serbia,” said the government in a statement.</p>

<p>Previously, Indian passport holders were able to enter the country without visa. Indians could live visa-free for a period of 30 days in a year. But this facility will be withdrawn in the new year.</p>

<p>The Indian embassy in Serbian capital Belgrade has issued a travel advisory for Indians. The embassy has asked holders of ordinary Indian passports to obtain visa from Serbian Embassy in Belgrade prior to travel to the country after January 1.</p>

<p>Indians who currently hold a valid UK, US or Schengen visa would still be able to enter Serbia visa-free for a period of 90 days.</p>

<p>In addition to Indians, Serbia has terminated visa-free travel facility to citizens of Guinea-Bissau, Tunisia and Burundi. For these countries, however, the facility has been withdrawn from November 20.</p>

In Unadkat's case, it seems a pre-booking was not in place as he remains a surprise addition with Shami's injury. The Saurashtra pacer made his Test debut back in december 2010 and is returning to the red-ball squad after 12 years. Hence, he may not have been in the logistic department's eyes even though he was apparently seen as an option by the outgoing selection committee.</p>

<p>Visa Inc. on Sunday announced it was severing its ties with now-bankrupt cryptocurrency&nbsp;exchange FTX.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“The situation with FTX is unfortunate and we are monitoring developments closely," said a Visa spokesperson.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“We have terminated our global agreements with FTX and their US debit card program is being wound down by their issuer," added the company.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Visa, the world's largest payments processor terminating the deal was a no-brainer, given FTX has gone under and the company's board looks entirely out of its depth to handle the situation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, the termination of the deal comes barely a month after Visa and FTX announced an expanded partnership&nbsp;under which plans were in motion to introduce&nbsp;account-linked Visa debit cards in 40 new countries.</p>

<p>As reported by WION,&nbsp;FTX filed for bankruptcy last Friday after traders rushed to remove $6 billion off the platform in only 72 hours.&nbsp;</p>

<p>One by one, companies across the board are ditching FTX.&nbsp; Last week, Binance chief executive Changpeng Zhao announced that his company no longer accepted&nbsp;deposits of FTX's FTT token on its platform.&nbsp;</p>

<p>FTX, the second largest crypto exchange was considered too big to fall by many. However, its fall has triggered panic across the sector with the big players now batting for regulations to win back the investors' confidence.</p>

<p>"We're in a new industry, we've seen in the past week, things go crazy in the industry. We do need some regulations, we do need to do this properly, we do need to do this in a stable way," said Zhao while speaking at the G20 leaders' summit in Bali.&nbsp;</p>
