Just when all hope to see a new Hindi film in the lockdown seemed lost, Amazon Prime Video decided to add smiles on the faces of all cinephiles with the launch of 'Gulabo Sitabo'.

Along with a story that holds your attention right from the word go, the film is all about the A-game as Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana will be sharing screen space together for the first time. With the Hindi film all set to directly stream on the platform on June 12, this particular move has encouraged a lot of movies to go down the same route making 'first day, first show' now become ‘first day, first stream'.

In pics: 'Gulabo Sitabo' brings Ayushmann Khurrana back to UP for the fifth consecutive time

If you haven’t realized from the trailer already, this Shoojit Sircar’s comedy-drama is about a hilarious land dispute set in a charming old haveli called ‘Fatema Mahal’.

Considering the brains behind this quirky tale, along with the dynamic duo playing lead roles, expectations for this movie are sky-high. While we’re simply counting the days left for its digital release.

Here are five reasons that make 'Gulabo Sitabo' an absolute must-watch.

It's Funny and Light-hearted

Produced by The Rising Sun Films Production, 'Gulabo Sitabo' is a cat and mouse tale between a landlord and tenant. Plotting and scheming against each other like two foxes, each moment shared between the two sees them go at each other’s throat. Its banter at its best 'Gulabo Sitabo' is all set to tug at our heartstrings and make us laugh out loud.

First Hindi movie to have a Direct-To-Stream release

We can’t emphasise enough on the fact that this movie is on the path of creating its own trend by being the first big-budget Hindi movie to be directly streamed on an OTT platform. After the bold move, we’ve been hearing that a lot of other movies are considering adopting the same approach. Well as long as the content is great, we don’t think that the medium really matters. Here’s hoping to more such entertaining content for us to enjoy and drive away from the boredom.

Amitabh and Ayushmann’s camaraderie

Luckily for us, 'Gulabo Sitabo' stars two exceptional actors who have sort of redefined the concept of ‘hero’ for us. From Big B’s action-packed performance as an angry young man to Ayushmann Khurrana’s pathbreaking and unconventional roles, they both have managed to make a special place in our hearts. One can only imagine the sort of magic this duo is going to create with their witty, electric and flawless performances while sharing the same frame in the movie.

The Creative Dream team

After successfully collaborating in movies like Vicky Donor, Piku and October, writer Juhi Chaturvedi and director Sircar team up yet again to create a remarkable story that is going to leave us in fits. Given that the film is the brainchild of Shoojit Sircar and Juhi Chaturvedi, we can definitely expect a unique approach of storytelling that is hilariously relatable.

A Collaboration of the Best Talents

The movie is created so beautifully that every character showcased and written have their own unique quirks. In addition to the lead pair, the movie also stars veteran actors like Vijay Raaz, Brijendra Kala and many others who have carved out their own niche merely on the basis of their talent.

With these five fantastic reasons to watch the film, we certainly can’t wait for 'Gulabo Sitabo' to stream this coming June 12. Catch this movie exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.

With people around the world cooped up at home, the pressure is on film-makers and other content creators to make new material and get it out.

But what's holding them back is the lack of safe places to work, industry experts say. Now New Zealand is an option. "We've had a few international enquiries and that`s on the back of our COVID-free status," said Gary Watkins, chief executive of Wellington-based Avalon Studios, which was used for the filming of the 2017 Scarlett Johansson starrer 'Ghost in the Shell' and will also help with the new 'Avatar'.
But the open door for Cameron and his crew has raised some eyebrows. Opposition party leaders have questioned why they breezed in while families are still separated and businesses are struggling without key staff.
Economic Development Minister Phil Twyford defended the decision saying the border was only open to a few foreigners who were important for projects with significant economic value. New Zealand's film industry is worth more than NZ$3 billion a year. A six-month international film can create an estimated 3,000 jobs.
"You only need a few international people coming to trigger thousands of jobs," said Sheehan.

And New Zealand needs jobs. The government expects hundreds of thousands to be lost because of a coronavirus. The tourism industry, which contributes more than NZ$16 billion and accounts for nearly 6% of gross domestic product, has been particularly hard hit.

But in the longer term, the films should help pay tourism back. "People all over the world will see these new titles and will start seeing New Zealand in a new light ... this will contribute hugely to tourism," Sheehan said.

Referring to his 2013 released drama 'Fruitvale Station', and his role as Oscar Grant gave him the "opportunity to feel the pain of his family, his daughter, his mother. I lived with that for a very long time and it weighs on me," the news agency quoted Jordan as saying.

Noting his role as a fireman who joined a revolution in 'Fahrenheit 451', he added: "Producing that movie made me really realize the lengths that the government and oppressors will go to keep knowledge out of your hands."
He also said that he also had the 'honour' of playing Bryan Stevenson in 'Just Mercy'. "In doing so I learned his tactics. I learned his mentality. I learned his approach to things. Very calm. Very strategic. Very thoughtful. You have to be proximal. You have to be close to [the] issues," the 33-year-old said.
He later called on people to "invest in black staff," including studios and agencies."A great agent doesn`t have to be a great organizer, but a great agent could advocate for relationships with organizers," the 'Black Panther' star said.

He later added: "What we are doing today will make our values heard and our voices heard. We've got to keep agitating things. We can`t be complacent. We can't let this moment just pass us by, we have to continue to put our foot on their necks."

Madrid residents wearing face masks queued two metres apart to be among the first visitors back in the city`s famed galleries on Saturday, as the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums reopened after nearly three months of coronavirus lockdown.

"I was really looking forward to coming back. To see how it has come back to life makes me very emotional," said masters student Alejandro Elizalde, who wiped away tears while viewing Diego de Velazquez`s "Las Meninas", one of the Prado`s most famous paintings.

The government shut state-run museums on March 12 as it locked down the country to curb the coronavirus spread. Curbs have been lifted gradually, with Madrid one of the slowest places to ease restrictions as it was among the worst hit.

The Prado and Reina Sofia are not yet fully open, but many masterpieces, including works by Velazquez and Goya in the Prado and Picasso's 'Guernica' in the Reina Sofia, are on display.

Health measures are in force, including social distancing, reduced capacity and timed tickets for visits. The staff took visitors` temperatures as they entered the Prado.

Many people noted how quiet the museums were. As one of Madrid`s major tourist draws, a usual Saturday would have seen them packed with visitors.

"It`s a really weird feeling and at the same time it's really good because I`ve never been in the Reina Sofia with so few people," said business developer Elena Vazquez.

Spain has so far recorded 27,134 deaths and 240,978 cases of the coronavirus. It will further ease the lockdown in Madrid and Barcelona from Monday when bar and restaurant patrons will be allowed to sit inside rather than just on outdoor terraces.
Also read: Film and TV production can resume as early as June 12 in California Many people noted how quiet the museums were. As one of Madrid`s major tourist draws, a usual Saturday would have seen them packed with visitors. "It`s a really weird feeling and at the same time it's really good because I`ve never been in the Reina Sofia with so few people," said business developer Elena Vazquez. It will further ease the lockdown in Madrid and Barcelona from Monday when bar and restaurant patrons will be allowed to sit inside rather than just on outdoor terraces. And in over half the country, nightclubs will be allowed to reopen, but dancing will not be permitted, the government instead suggesting dance floor space be used for tables.

Filmmaker Bharatbala, who created magic with the song video of AR Rahman's 'Vande Mataram', has now captured the beauty of India's most silent phase in his new film 'Uthenge Hum'.

The filmmaker's latest project focuses on the unseen visuals of the nationwide lockdown in the country. While 1.3 billion people were under lockdown, the filmmaker and a devoted team of 117, comprising about 15 film crews, set out to shoot the film.

The crews filmed the lockdown across 14 states, covering thousands of kilometres, to document this watershed moment of global history. The result is Uthenge Hum (We Will Rise), a 4-minute-long film that captures the emptiness during the lockdown.

It begins with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech where he imposed a nationwide lockdown on the night of March 24 and ends with the majestic view of the Indian tricolour national flag fluttering in the wind from Delhi`s Red Fort to Himachal's Spiti valley, and from Mumbai`s Marine Drive to Kerala's Kovalam beach, all the major attractions of the country remained deserted this year and the film captures the very stillness of these places.

Some other prime locations that feature in the video are Lucknow`s Bara Imambara, ghats of Varanasi, JNPT port of financial capital - Mumbai, Srinagar`s Hazratbal shrine, Chennai's Kapaleeshwarar temple and Mumbai's Churchgate station and Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.

The film ends with a message: "Pata nahi kya hua, ek pal mei jaise sabki zindagi badal gayi hai. Par kal sooraj nikelga, uthengey hum (Don`t know what happened, feels like all our lives changed in just a single moment. But the sun will rise tomorrow and we too will rise with it)."
