Notably, the visitor pass of one intruder was issued by Bharatiya Janata Party lawmaker from southern India's Mysuru constituency Pratap Simha.&nbsp;

Pratap Simha, 42-year-old former journalist, wrote a biography of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2007. He has been elected from Mysuru for the second time in a row in 2019.&nbsp; 
 
The MP later met Speaker Om Birla and shared that the father of the accused, Sagar Sharma, resides in his constituency, Mysuru, and had requested for the pass. He added that he had no additional information apart from what he shared, said sources.

According to reports, a total of six people were involved in the security breach.&nbsp;

The two men, who jumped from the public gallery into the area where the lawmakers sit, have been identified as Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D.

Even as there was chaos in the Lok Sabha, a man and a woman sprayed coloured smoke from canisters and shouted slogans outside Parliament premises. The duo was identified as Amol Shinde and Neelam.

The four were apprehended by the security apparatus deployed at the scene.&nbsp;

According to Delhi Police sources, the fifth accused in this case, Lalit Jha, was present outside the Parliament House. When the police caught Amol and Neelam, Lalit fled from the spot.&nbsp;

Police sources say that the investigation so far has revealed that all these people are unemployed and during interrogation the accused have told that they were troubled by unemployment and had reached outside the Parliament House on December 13.&nbsp;

All four (Neelam, Manoranjan, Sagar, Amol) had given their mobile phones to Lalit.&nbsp;

As soon as the commotion started, Lalit fled from the spot. Lalit has mobile phones of the detained accused. The search for Lalit was on at the time of filing this report.&nbsp;

As per the MPs who were present inside the Lok Sabha when the incident occurred, two men jumped from the gallery inside the house. As the MPs caught one of the men, he took out a canister from his shoes and released yellow smoke. However, the MPs and the security personnel overpowered them.

A meeting of the floor leaders of different political parties was called by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to discuss the security breach.

The entry of visitors inside the Lok was stopped for the time being on Wednesday (Dec 13) after the sudden and shocking security breach rattled the lower house of Parliament. For now, only the MPs have been allowed to use the main gate to enter and exit the Parliament's premises.

As per a PTI news agency report quoting the police, the phone belonged to a worker of Modi's Bhartiya Janta Party, and she threw it out of "excitement" and had no "ill intention" towards the prime minister.

At the time of the incident, the Indian prime minister was under the protection of Special Protection Group (SPG) sleuths. In the video circulating on Twitter and other social media platforms, the phone could be seen flying through the air and landing on the bonnet of Modi's vehicle.

The phone did not hit the Indian prime minister or his companions, and no one was hurt in the incident.&nbsp;

Rahul Gandhi said that he had to cancel his&nbsp;Yatra in South Kashmir on Friday as there were no policemen for crowd control. &nbsp;

"This morning we had quite a large crowd that had gathered. And we were looking forward to walking on the Bharat Jodo Yatra, but unfortunately, the police arrangement completely collapsed and the police people who were supposed to manage the crowd were nowhere to be seen," said Gandhi.&nbsp;

"So, my security people were very uncomfortable with me walking further. So, we had to cancel my yatra. The other yatris did the walk. The police must manage the crowd for the yatra to go on. It becomes difficult for me to go against what my security people are saying," he added.&nbsp;

Congress leaders said that Rahul Gandhi was supposed to walk 16 km today but he had to cancel the walk after four kilometres as there were no policemen to control crowd. They have now asked the administration to provide enough security for the yatra&nbsp;in the coming days.&nbsp;

Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, also joined Rahul Gandhi in the "Bharat Jodo Yatra" on Friday. He also alleged that the moment they entered the Kashmir Valley, the policemen guarding them vanished within minutes.&nbsp;

"I'm witness to this. The outer ring of the cordon which was maintained by J&amp;K police simply vanished within minutes of @RahulGandhi starting to walk. We had just crossed into Kashmir from Jammu &amp; were looking forward to the 11 KM walk but unfortunately, it got cancelled," said Omar.&nbsp;

Congress leaders, however, said that they are hopeful that security arrangements would be elaborate for&nbsp;Gandhi's upcoming events across the Kashmir region including his culmination rally in Srinagar.&nbsp;

A man, wearing a white T-shirt, came onto the court in London's O2 Arena and set his arm on fire to protest the use of private jets in Britain. The incident halted the match between Tsitsipas and Schwartzman for some time.&nbsp;

The shocking incident happened ahead of tennis legend Roger Federer's final professional match of his career. Federer will partner with his great rival Rafael Nadal to face the American duo of Sock and Frances Tiafoe.&nbsp;

PM's security lapse: BJP slams Congress over 'Modi ji, How's the Josh?' tweet

The Ministry of Home Affairs sent a harsh letter on January 5, alleging a "serious lapse in PM Narendra Modi's security" while he was in Punjab for various activities.

According to the report, the Punjab government neglected to deploy additional security to ensure the safety of any road traffic.

On Wednesday, PM Modi's cavalcade became stalled on a flyover as protesting farmers blocked the road.

SPG troops swooped in and surrounded PM Modi's car while it remained stalled on the flyover, preventing any untoward incidents.&nbsp;

According to the Union Home Ministry, PM Modi arrived in Bathinda this morning and was scheduled to fly to Hussainiwala to visit the National Martyrs' Memorial.

The MHA stated that the Prime Minister's itinerary and travel plans were informed to the Punjab government well in advance, and that the latter should have made the appropriate logistical and security arrangements in accordance with procedure.

In addition, the Punjab government could have deployed greater security to secure any road movement, as per a contingency plan that should have been in place.

This, according to the MHA, was not done.

Following the security breakdown, the convoy was rerouted back to Bathinda airport, according to the MHA, who also stated that the state government has been requested to provide a full report.

The MHA has ordered the state government to identify and punish those responsible for the significant security breach.

Amid the security services controversy over the United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s number being available online, now a user of publication The Guardian has discovered that the country’s foreign minister’s number has also been available online for the last 11 years.

Dominic Raab’s number is believed to have been online for at least 11 years, before Raab became an MP in 2010, till date. The number remained online even when he became the foreign secretary, first secretary of state – de facto deputy prime minister, in 2019.

Raab who has previously warned of rogue states and the cybersecurity threats they pose had a lot&nbsp;of his personal information displayed on the page continuing his number. Now, the number along with the foreign minister’s personal details have been removed.

In April, a controversy took the UK by storm when it emerged that Boris Johnson’s personal mobile had been available online for 15 years and that anybody can access it off the bottom of a press release. This raised questions over the confidentiality of senior politicians’ contact details and why it was not thoroughly investigated.

Former security advisor Peter Ricketts says this second breach involving Raab’s number showed more attention must be paid to online security.

“The wide availability of Mr Raab’s personal phone number must increase the risk that other states, or even criminal gangs, have been able to eavesdrop on his calls,”

“It also means that anyone who happens to have had his phone number … is able to lobby the foreign secretary, bypassing the official channels which everyone else has to use. Anyone taking on a role as sensitive as this should in their own interests pay as much attention to online as to physical security,”&nbsp;he added.

Calling for an investigation, shadow foreign secretary, Lisa Nandy, said, “This is a staggering lapse in security from a foreign secretary who, only last month, was lecturing NATO&nbsp;allies about the cybersecurity threat posed by authoritarian regimes.

“It is typical of the government’s approach that when it comes to national security and defending democracy they say one thing but do another. This should be the subject of an investigation. Both the prime minister and foreign secretary have failed to protect their own phones. How can we be assured they aren’t as careless with sensitive intelligence and diplomatic cables too?”

In a statement, the government said that it has also requested the removal of the web page containing Raab’s details.

Vadra's comments came a day after alleged security breach at Delhi-based residence of Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

"It`s not about the security for Priyanka, my daughter and son or me or the Gandhi family... It`s about keeping our citizens especially the women of our country, safe and feeling secure. Security throughout the country is compromised... Girls are being molested/raped, What society are we creating," Vadra wrote on Facebook.

A widely downloaded Chinese propaganda app that quizzes users on Communist Party heroes and military achievements may be "studying them right back" through data collection and potential security breaches, an internet freedom campaign group says.

The app - called "Xuexi Qiangguo" or "Study to make China strong" - has accumulated 130 million users since its launch by the Communist Party's propaganda arm in January, according to state media in August.

Marketed as an education tool, it awards points for sharing articles and watching videos such as speeches by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

But the Open Technology Fund (OTF) - a US government-funded group that campaigns for internet freedom, says users also provide a plethora of data to the app, including location and emails.

OTF contracted the independent German tech firm Cure53 to study the app.

While the Communist Party advertises it as "a way for citizens to prove their loyalty and study their country, the app's maintainers are studying them right back", OTF wrote on its website.

The app's terms and conditions also say users may have to hand over more personal information, such as fingerprints and ID numbers, depending on the features or third-party tools they want to access.

The Chinese government has come under increasing scrutiny for high-tech surveillance, from facial recognition-enabled security cameras to apps used by police to extract personal information from smartphones at checkpoints.

And though "Study to make China strong" is an education app, Cure53 said it contains code that could run "arbitrary commands", reminiscent of a backdoor, on certain phones.

The app "maintains a level of access that no app would normally have over a user's device", said OTF.

The investigation, which was conducted in August, only looked at the Android version of the app, partly because of its market dominance, said Sarah Aoun, the group's director of technology.

OTF is considering tackling the iOS version next, Aoun told AFP.

"This is just another way of expanding that digital control through a very intrusive app that is being pushed onto its citizens," said Aoun.

The Communist Party's propaganda arm, which is responsible for the app, did not respond to AFP's request for comment.

Dozens of provincial and county governments across the country reportedly held workshops to promote the app earlier this year.

Chinese journalists will also have to use the app for online press accreditation exams later this month and November, said a notice last week from the State Council, China's cabinet.

"It is unusual to see so much data gathered for an education app," said Jane Manchun Wong, who reverse-engineers apps for security vulnerabilities and unreleased features.

"It's like reading a book about the great nation but the book somehow searches your home," she told AFP.

The app also scans for 960 applications, including gaming, travel and chat apps, appearing as if "attempting to find which popular apps are installed on the phone", said Cure53's report.

A spokesperson at DingTalk, an enterprise chat platform that was used to build the app, told AFP that it had "no 'backdoor code' or scanning issues".

But OTF said users' data and their phones could be further jeopardised if the code that "amounts to a backdoor" runs successfully.

Currently, this code only affects phones where users have installed software that gives them "superuser" privileges, such as the ability to modify the device's code.

But apps can also abuse this level of privilege to take over a user's device.

"The code they found is creepy", Baptiste Robert, a French security researcher, told AFP -- but cautioned against the use of the word backdoor.

The investigation also found "no evidence" that the code was used during testing, with Cure53 concluding that "further investigation" was needed to determine how it was used.

The code "can raise suspicion," Robert said, but to conclude that there is "vast espionage from China is complicated".

"Banks are the custodians of the money people have stored in them," Shoaib said, adding they are also responsible if their security features are weak that they result in pilferage.

Last week, the official said, a gang was arrested, whose members used to disguise themselves as army officials and withdraw money from banks after collecting people's data.

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has been informed by several commercial banks that they have blocked international payments on debit and credit cards as a precautionary measure following cyber attacks on the accounts of their clients, the Dawn reported quoting sources.

Data of over 8,000 account holders of about 10 Pakistani banks was sold in a market of hackers, the report said quoting a digital security website krebsonsecurity.Com.

The first case of a cyber attack on a Pakistan's bank was reported by BankIslami on October 27.&nbsp;

The bank said that Rs 2.6 million was stolen from international payment cards after which it has stopped such transactions and allowed biometrically verified payments only on ATM cards within Pakistan, the report said.

The following day, the central bank (SBP) issued directives to all banks to ensure that security measures on all information technology systems including those related to card operations are continuously updated to meet future challenges, ensure real-time monitoring of card operations related systems and transactions.

A court in Sierra Leone heard a case on Tuesday regarding a severe breach of security at the country&#39;s biggest airport. A man tried to set fire to an Air France plane after gaining access to the aircraft withour a passport or a boarding card.&nbsp; 
 
Airport officials promised security would be stepped up after Ibrahim Kanu attempted to board the flight armed with petrol, matches and a cigarette lighter on June 24 at Lungi International Airport, close to the capital of Freetown. 
 
The prosecution said Kanu had entered the restricted area reserved for staff and took a bus connecting to the plane, which is believed to have been an Airbus A330-200 headed for Paris. 
 
A British firm, Westminster Group, is contracted to provide security at the airport but has yet to comment publicly. 
 
Kanu&#39;s bail application was rejected on Tuesday on the grounds that he was a flight risk. He was accused of &quot;a very serious criminal offence&quot;.
