On the defamation case filed by him against Red Chillies and Netflix, Wankhede said, "My personal belief is that this has nothing to do with my job or my profession. In my personal capacity, I've approached the Delhi High Court. I wouldn't like to comment on the court proceedings or the issues involved, as the matter is sub judice... This is a matter of self-respect, personal dignity, and personal honour."&nbsp;He added, "Whatever satire or parody you create, do it with your own people or profession. Today, the issue of drug abuse has become a major issue for our nation, and by highlighting such things, you're insulting not just one person, but those who have worked with me, and others who fight against drug abuse... " Wankhede continued that his fight is for the honour of his family, "My family has nothing to do with my profession. They have nothing to do with my cases, my profession, but why are they feeling the brunt of these kinds of things? Hate messages are coming from Pakistan, the UAE, and Bangladesh. I will not accept that because of me, they are facing the brunt of it... We have regularly informed the police about the threats that my sister and my wife keep getting..." Sameer expressed his faith in the legal system, saying, ".. I have faith in our judiciary, our constitution and the system of our country. I am a loyal soldier of the government of India. There are numerous checks and balances in our system, and there is a proper rule book, the Constitution, according to which we work. One person does not make the decisions here. Everything has been done in accordance with the rules and regulations. It is not about any publicity; it is about dignity. The kind of hate messages I have been getting, no self-respecting man will remain silent on it. I will fight this legal battle to whatever extent possible. I have presented all the messages in front of the Delhi High Court..." On October 8, the Delhi High Court issued a summons to Red Chillies Entertainment Private Limited and others in a civil defamation suit filed by Wankhede. Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav issued a summons (notice) on the plea of Sameer Wankhede against Red Chillies Entertainment and others. The High Court has asked Red Chillies Entertainment and others to file a reply within seven days. The petition has been asked to file a rejoinder within three days thereafter. The court has asked the petitioner to supply a copy of the petition to all defendants. The matter has been listed on October 30 for a hearing. The High Court refused to grant any instant relief to the petitioner and asked them to come after 10 days. In his suit, Wankhede has sought relief in the nature of a permanent and mandatory injunction, declaration, and damages against the production house, Netflix and others, adding that he has been aggrieved by a false, malicious, and defamatory video in Aryan Khan's directorial debut show, 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood'. "This series disseminates a misleading and negative portrayal of anti-drug enforcement agencies, thereby eroding public confidence in law enforcement institutions," he claimed in his plea. He also claimed that the series has been deliberately conceptualised and executed with the intent to malign Sameer Wankhede's reputation in a colourable and prejudicial manner, particularly when proceedings involving him and Aryan Khan remain pending before the Bombay High Court and the NDPS Special Court, Mumbai. He contended that the portrayal unfairly targets him at a time when the judicial scrutiny is ongoing.

In a recent interview, Sameer Wankhede, the Indian official who arrested Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, spoke about moving on from the case. Sameer was the zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau. He still doesn&rsquo;t make any comments on the parties involved in the case after the 2021 arrest of the Khan scion. He didn&rsquo;t once mention Shah Rukh Khan and reacted to allegations of Aryan being framed since there were no drugs on him at the time of the arrest.
<h2>Trolling is entertainment for me, says Sameer Wankhede</h2>
Following Aryan&rsquo;s arrest, Sameer was mercilessly trolled. When asked if so much trolling took a toll on him, he told Zoom Entertainment, &ldquo;Trolling is entertainment for me. I have faced much worse: bullets, terrorists. These are very small things. Threatening messages are quite funny."
He also told off the trolls and said, &ldquo;Try harder.&rdquo;

CBI to record statement of Shah Rukh Khan and son Aryan in Sameer Wankhede bribery case

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's alleged desperate text messages to former zonal director of Mumbai Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Sameer Wankhede, are currently doing rounds on the internet. According to the viral screenshots, SRK begged the NCB officer, who is currently&nbsp;facing allegations of corruption and criminal misconduct, to go easy on his son&nbsp; Aryan Khan, who spent about a month in jail after getting arrested in the drugs-on-cruise case in 2021.

Wankhede has been accused of conspiring to extort Rs 250 million&nbsp;from the Bollywood actor with the help of "independent witnesses". CBI&nbsp;recently booked Wankhede on extortion charges and stated that the special enquiry team (SET) of the NCB had red-flagged several lapses and irregularities in the drug bust operation conducted under the "monitoring" of Wankhede.

According to reports, the leaked chats between Wankhede and SRK&nbsp;were produced&nbsp;before the court by Wankhede, in order to prove his innocence that he did not extort the actor in the drug case.

One of the screenshots shared by Free Press Journal shows the actor asking the NCB officer to be easy on his son. "Get your guys to go slow for God's sake. I swear I will stand by you at all times to come and assist you with what all you are trying to achieve good. It's a man's promise and you know me enough to know I am good for it. I beg you to please have mercy in me and my family. We are a simple set of people and my son has been a bit wayward, but he doesn't deserve being in a jail like a hardened criminal. You also know that. Please have a heart man, please I beg you," the screenshot read.

Aryan&nbsp;was exonerated from the drug case by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) last year after a special investigation team (SIT) of the agency probed the raids afresh and said that there was no evidence of wrongdoing against the superstar's son. In its report submitted to the central administrative tribunal (CAT) last year, the SIT&nbsp;found irregularities against the 44-year-old NCB officer&nbsp;and his team.

Wankhede has denied all the allegations and has approached the CAT and the Bombay High Court to quash the CBI FIR against him.

Shah Rukh Khan ‘begged’ Sameer Wankhede to release son Aryan Khan from prison; WhatsApp chats leaked

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said that they have registered a case against the then Mumbai zonal chief of NCB, Sameer Wankhede, and four others for allegedly demanding Rs 25 crore ($3,041,350) bribe from the family of Aryan Khan, the son of actor Shah Rukh Khan, in the alleged drugs-on-cruise case. 
 
The case has also been lodged against Vishwa Vijay Singh, the then Superintendent, NCB; Ashish Ranjan, the then Intelligence Officer; two private persons KP Gosavi and Sanbile D`Souza and unknown others. 
 
The CBI officials on condition of anonymity said that Rs 50 lakh was even paid by Khan`s family to save him in the drug case. He said that in the coming days, they will summon Wankhede to join the probe and get his statement recorded. 
 
The CBI said that the instant case was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act and relevant Sections of the IPC following a complaint from Narcotics Control Bureau`s Vigilance Department. 
 
The CBI official said that the officials of the NCB (Mumbai Zone), in order to obtain undue advantage from a few persons in a drug case entered into a criminal conspiracy and had allegedly obtained an undue advantage in the form of bribes from the alleged accused. 
 
Information was received in the Mumbai Zone of NCB during October 2021 related to the consumption and possession of narcotics substances by various individuals on the Cordelia cruise. 
 
Aryan Khan was on board the&nbsp;cruise when the NCB officials conducted raids. 
 
The NCB officials allegedly entered into a conspiracy in order to extort an amount of Rs 25 crore from the family members of Aryan Khan by threatening them with the accusation of offences of possession of narcotics substances, as per the alleged directions of Wankhede. 
 
The CBI official said that a token amount of Rs 50 lakh as a bribe was allegedly obtained in furtherance of this conspiracy by the said persons. 
 
The official said that searches were being conducted at 29 locations across Mumbai, Delhi, Ranchi, Lucknow, Chennai and Guwahati. During the searches, a number of incriminating documents, and cash have been seized. In Mumbai, raids are on in Andheri and others premises of Wankhede. 
 
IANS made several attempts to reach out to Wankhede, who is currently posted in Chennai`s Income Tax department, for his comments on the matter, but he was not available. 
 
Further investigation in the matter is on.

Aryan Khan case: CBI books Sameer Wankhede, 4 others for demanding over $3mn bribe

Amid allegations of an extortion attempt by NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede and others in connection with the cruise drugs case in which actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan is arrested, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in an affidavit submitted before a special court here on Monday said Wankhede and other officers have an impeccable service record.

Earlier in the day, the federal anti-drug agency and Wankhede filed affidavits before the special court, designated to hear cases related to the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, against the allegations of extortion attempts levelled against them.

In the affidavits, the anti-drugs agency and Wankhede sought the court to pass an order saying no court should take cognizance of the affidavit prepared by the independent witness, Prabhakar Sail.

As per the NCB and its zonal director, the allegations made by Sail were only an attempt to create hurdles and scuttle the investigation into the case.

"It is emphatically stated that the NCB, as an organisation and/or its officers, the zonal director, who has an impeccable service record, replete with honesty and integrity, has no interest whatsoever as falsely alleged in the purported affidavit (of the witness)," the anti-drug agency said.

"The NCB headed by its zonal director and its team was working tirelessly with the sole objective to eradicate the drug menace in the city of Mumbai and act in compliance with the aims and object of this stringent enactment (NDPS Act), to make the city drug free," it added.

The agency further said that at such a stage, the witness's claims was an attempt to tamper with and obstruct an ongoing investigation and hence stringent action ought to be taken against the witness.

It added that the affidavit/application was filed by the agency in the interest of justice and to avoid an independent and reputed agency from being defamed and tarnished by unscrupulous elements who intend to further their own vested interests.

Special Judge V V Patil disposed of the applications and refused to pass any blanket order.

On Sunday, Prabhakar Sail, an independent witness in the case, in a statement to the media, claimed that Rs 25 crore was demanded by an official of the NCB and other persons, including absconding witness K P Gosavi, to let off Aryan Khan in the drugs case.

Sail told media persons that he had overheard Gosavi telling one Sam D'Souza over the phone about a demand of Rs 25 crore and "to settle at Rs 18 crore as they have to give Rs eight crore to Sameer Wankhede".

Sail had said he would soon release evidence to support his claim.

Amid allegations of an extortion attempt by NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede and others in connection with the cruise drugs case in which actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan is arrested, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in an affidavit submitted before a special court here on Monday said Wankhede and other officers have an impeccable service record.

Amid allegations of an extortion attempt by NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede and others in connection with the cruise drugs case in which actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan is arrested, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in an affidavit submitted before a special court here on Monday said Wankhede and other officers have an impeccable service record. Earlier in the day, the federal anti-drug agency and Wankhede filed affidavits before the special court, designated to hear cases related to the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, against the allegations of extortion attempts levelled against them. In the affidavits, the anti-drugs agency and Wankhede sought the court to pass an order saying no court should take cognizance of the affidavit prepared by the independent witness, Prabhakar Sail. As per the NCB and its zonal director, the allegations made by Sail were only an attempt to create hurdles and scuttle the investigation into the case. "It is emphatically stated that the NCB, as an organisation and/or its officers, the zonal director, who has an impeccable service record, replete with honesty and integrity, has no interest whatsoever as falsely alleged in the purported affidavit (of the witness)," the anti-drug agency said. "The NCB headed by its zonal director and its team was working tirelessly with the sole objective to eradicate the drug menace in the city of Mumbai and act in compliance with the aims and object of this stringent enactment (NDPS Act), to make the city drug free," it added. The agency further said that at such a stage, the witness's claims was an attempt to tamper with and obstruct an ongoing investigation and hence stringent action ought to be taken against the witness. It added that the affidavit/application was filed by the agency in the interest of justice and to avoid an independent and reputed agency from being defamed and tarnished by unscrupulous elements who intend to further their own vested interests. Special Judge V V Patil disposed of the applications and refused to pass any blanket order. On Sunday, Prabhakar Sail, an independent witness in the case, in a statement to the media, claimed that Rs 25 crore was demanded by an official of the NCB and other persons, including absconding witness K P Gosavi, to let off Aryan Khan in the drugs case. Sail told media persons that he had overheard Gosavi telling one Sam D'Souza over the phone about a demand of Rs 25 crore and "to settle at Rs 18 crore as they have to give Rs eight crore to Sameer Wankhede". Sail had said he would soon release evidence to support his claim. Aryan Khan and 19 others have been arrested so far in the case. Aryan is presently lodged at the Arthur Road prison.
