<p>The report said that the relatives of Covid victims condemned the decision not to include any of them in the inquiry's first six-week phase. The Covid Bereaved Families for Justice group had put forward 20 people to be considered as witnesses for the first module but said none were called to give evidence.</p>

<p>Group member Barbara Herbert, who lost her husband to the virus, said, "Without learning from the experiences of our members, how can the inquiry properly evaluate the decisions made by those in charge?"</p>

<p>Saleyha Ahsan, a doctor whose father also succumbed to Covid, said "We are people that will be able to put reality to the theory that Hallett is testing, that has got to happen, otherwise it's just a farce."</p>

<p>Citing an inquiry spokesperson, AFP reported the chair had not ruled out calling testimony from bereaved people in later phases of the probe.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The first phase of the inquiry gets underway today, and later phases would focus on how the country's health service coped with Covid, vaccines and therapeutics, government procurement, and the impact on the care sector.</p>

<p>While speaking at a tech conference in London, Sunak said, "Boris Johnson asked me to do something that I wasn't prepared to do, because I didn't think it was right."&nbsp;</p>

Sunak vs Johnson: The spat takes new turn with latest war of words

<p>A 31-year-old man was caught in Nottingham City, England, on Tuesday morning on the suspicion of murdering three people and using his van to run over more at another site.</p>

<p>Police reached Ilkeston Road around 4 am (local time) after they were informed that two people were lying dead in the street. Their identity is yet to be revealed.</p>

<p>Shortly after, the police were called to a few distances away on Milton Street after another incident was reported that a van had attempted to mow over three people, the Independent reported.</p>

<p>The people who were run over by the truck have been admitted to the hospital and are being treated for their injuries. The details about their condition have not been revealed as of yet.</p>

<p>Another man was found dead a few blocks away on Magdala Road but no cause of death was given for the third victim.</p>

<h2><strong>All incidents are linked</strong></h2>

<p>In a statement, Chief Constable Kate Meynell said that there are strong indications that these three “horrific and tragic” incidents are “all linked”.</p>

<p>“This is a horrific and tragic incident which has claimed the lives of three people. We believe these three incidents are all linked and we have a man in custody,” said Chief Constable Kate Meynell in a statement following the incident.</p>

<p>Police have not revealed the identity of the suspect, and added that they are still in the early stages of investigation.</p>

<p>“This investigation is at its early stages and a team of detectives is working to establish exactly what has happened,” she said.</p>

<p>“We ask the public to be patient while inquiries continue. At this time, a number of roads in the city will remain closed as this investigation progresses.”</p>

<p>British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressed shock over the incident and sent his condolences to the families of the deceased.</p>

<p>"At half past five I saw a van pull up at the side of me. It was white, all white. There was a police car behind it coming up slowly, no flashing lights. The man in the driver's seat looked in his mirror and saw the police car behind him," Lynn said.</p>

<p>She said the van then drove up to "the corner of the street and went into two people". "The lady ended up on the curb, and then he backed up the white van and he went, speeded up Parliament Street with the police cars following him," she added.</p>

<p>The police have closed a number of roads in Nottingham in the wake of the incident. <p>During the joint press conference,&nbsp;Biden expressed confidence that the US will support Ukraine in its war with Russia for 'as long as it takes'. There has been some hesitation among US lawmakers of Republican Party about helping Ukraine in an indefinite manner.</p>

<p>"The fact of the matter is that I believe we'll have the funding necessary to support Ukraine as long as it takes," said Biden.</p>

<p>Russia invaded Ukraine in February last year. After sustained territorial gains in the first few months of the conflict, Russian forces had to retreat in the face of Ukrainian counterattacks. Western countries, led by the US have poured in millions and millions of dollars for humanitarian as well as military help for Ukraine. This, among other factors, has been credited for Ukraine's success in defending its territory so far.</p>

<h2><strong>Sunak condemns France knife attack</strong></h2>

<p>At the press conference, PM Sunak condemned a knife attack in French Alps in a park that wounded four preschool children including one from the UK.</p>

<p>The US has also held talks last week on an AI code of conduct with the European Union, of which the UK is no longer a part post-Brexit. Sunak is also trying to pitch that a future global AI regulator be based in London.</p>

<p>"The UK is well placed to play a leadership role. Outside of the US, we are probably the leading AI nation amongst democratic countries. We have an ability to get regulation right to protect our citizens," Sunak told Britain's TalkTV ahead of their summit.<br />

"Well actually, we discussed artificial intelligence when we were in Japan together with the president (at the G7) and I know he is also aware of the challenges and opportunities that it poses," Sunak added.<br />

Referring to the G7 call for action on AI regulation in Japan last month, Sunak's spokesman said, "The summit is expected to take place in the autumn and will gather like-minded countries&nbsp;to shape a regulatory response."</p>

<p>Sunak is on a two-day US visit. At the start of the visit, he laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery&nbsp;while soldiers fired a 19-gun salute.</p>

<p>"In memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in order that we might live free. We will remember them," said a hand-written message from Sunak on the wreath.</p>

<h2><strong>Ukraine war to dominate talks</strong></h2>

<p>The situation surrounding the Ukraine war is expected to dominate Biden-Sunak discussion. The meeting between the two leaders will take place just as Ukraine and Russia trade blame for blowing up the Kakhovka dam and damaging the Tolyatti-Odesa pipeline, the world's longest&nbsp;ammonia pipeline. The breach in the dam has triggered heavy floods.</p>

<p>The US and UK have not yet officially said who they think is behind the dam breach.</p>

<p>But in an interview with ITV News, Sunak said that Russia has pursued a "deliberate strategy to target civilian infrastructure."</p>

<p>"It is wrong, it's barbaric, and it's appalling. That's why we're providing such strong support to them and will continue to do so," he said of the Ukrainians.</p>
