Not too long ago, Johnson was in the eye of the storm due to parties held at his official residence when much of Britain was under strict COVID lockdown. Another scandal to hit Johnson government was appointment of&nbsp;a senior Conservative Party member, who quit his post last week after he was accused of drunkenly groping two men.

Resignations of Rishi Sunak and Sajid Javid came soon after Johnson apologised for appointment of David Pincher, the conservative party member accused of groping men.

Days of shifting explanations had followed the resignation of deputy chief whip Chris Pincher. Downing Street at first denied Johnson knew of prior allegations against Pincher when appointing him in February.

But by Tuesday, that defence had collapsed after a former top civil servant said Johnson, as foreign minister, was told in 2019 about another incident involving his ally.

Will Quince, minister for children and families who quit on Wednesday, said that he was given the inaccurate information before having to defend the government in a round of media interviews on Monday.

One wrote, "Straight to the point, no beating the bush". Reacting to "Bye-bye Sir" resignation, a Twitter user Sahil shared his "junior" message asking for leave approval to sit for an interview in "another" company.

"My juniors are so sweet, asking me for leave to attend an interview" reads the caption along with a screenshot.

Findings suggest that a significant 61% in India are willing to accept a lower salary or forgo a pay rise and/or promotion for better work-life balance, overall well-being, and happiness.

"According to our data, not only has it already been taking place for the last two years sparked by the global pandemic, 2022 will only see it intensify," Michael Page said in its report.

According to the survey, this trend will continue in 2022 across markets, industries, degrees of seniority, and age groups.&nbsp;

"With the clear majority saying a significant talent migration event is upon us in the next few months, we must be ready for it to increase."&nbsp;

While there is a lot of debate about organisations' work arrangements (hybrid, working from home, etc.) and Covid-related regulations generating employee dissatisfaction, the survey finds that just 11% of those who have resigned or plan to resign cite this as the cause for their departure. Career advancement, a greater pay, a role change, and job happiness are all common reasons for employees to resign.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has done it again. Over the new revelations of several illegal lockdown parties, the leader has taken responsibility but refused to resign. Johnson has said that he was humbled after an official report on Wednesday gave intrinsic details of a series of such parties at the Downing Street office of the PM. In parliament, Johnson said, "I am humbled and I have learned a lesson." He also said that he would not quit. The senior official Sue Gray’s report has not specifically blamed Johnson but he can be seen in photographs at several gatherings. &nbsp;

"Many of these events should not have been allowed to happen. The senior leadership ... must bear responsibility for this culture," Gray said. &nbsp;

Meanwhile, Johnson is going to pay tribute to 96-year-old Queen Elizabeth on Thursday. It will be done four days before the celebrations, which will honour the Queen’s 70 years on the throne. He will describe her as the nation's rock, as per the extracts released by his office. &nbsp;

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has refused to resign after being fined for breaking his government's pandemic lockdown rules, saying he would instead redouble his efforts to strengthen the economy and combat Russian aggression in Ukraine.

London police fined Johnson and other people Tuesday for attending a birthday party thrown for the prime minister at his Downing Street offices on June 19, 2020. The penalty made Johnson the first British prime minister ever found to have broken the law while in office.

Gatherings of more than two people were banned in Britain at the time of the birthday party to curb the spread of COVID-19.

I understand the anger that many will feel that I, myself, fell short when it came to observing the very rules which the government I lead had introduced to protect the public. And I accept in all sincerity that people had the right to expect better, Johnson said late Tuesday.

And now I feel an even greater sense of obligation to deliver on the priorities of the British people.

The fine followed a police investigation and months of questions about lockdown-breaking parties at government offices, which Johnson had tried to bat away by saying there were no parties and that he believed no rules were broken.

Opposition lawmakers demanded Johnson's resignation, arguing the fines given to him and Treasury chief Rishi Sunak were evidence of criminality&nbsp;at the heart of government. The opposition argued that the Downing Street gathering demonstrated that Johnson and his supporters believed the rules don't apply to them.

On Wednesday, a Conservative member of the House of Lords resigned from his role as justice minister, criticising repeated rule-breaking and breaches of criminal law in Downing Street.

"It is not just a question of what happened in Downing Street, or your own conduct,&nbsp;David Wolfson wrote in a letter to Johnson. It is also, and perhaps more so, the official response to what took place."

While the partygate&nbsp;scandal poses a threat to Johnson's government, the world has changed tremendously since the first reports of the parties surfaced late last year.

Johnson has been a leading figure in marshalling international opposition to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and Britain is facing its worst cost-of-living crisis since the 1950s. His supporters are already arguing that whatever the prime minister may have done wrong, now is not time for a leadership contest.

That his Treasury chief also received an undermining fine helped Johnson, since Sunak had been seen as the leading Conservative candidate to succeed Johnson.

But Johnson still faces the possibility of additional fines. He is reported to have attended three other gatherings that the Metropolitan Police Service is still investigating.

He will also have to answer questions about whether he knowingly misled Parliament with his previous statements about the parties, said Jill Rutter, a senior fellow at the Institute for Government in London.

Governments have to realize that they can't just make laws and then skirt around them and rationalize themselves that it's all OK because they're very important people working at the center of government, Rutter said.

According to the report, 83% and 71% of those who participated in the survey said flexible hours and the workplace were important, respectively.&nbsp;

Last week, one Conservative MP defected to the opposition Labour Party and many newspapers have reported rumours of more lawmakers demanding Johnson’s exit.

All of them are said to be waiting for the senior civil servant, Sue Grayl, to release the report, which would have findings on lockdown-breaking parties at Downing Street and elsewhere in government.

However, UK’s Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab said that it was unlikely that the report would be fully disclosed and added that the amount of detail released publicly will be a matter for Boris Johnson.

Asked whether the public would be able to see Gray’s report in full, Raab told BBC One’s Sunday Morning programme, “Quite the way, the process for it, will be for the prime minister to decide. But … there will be full transparency. He has said he will come back to the Commons and make a statement, so there will be full scrutiny.”

Asked whether this meant it would be fully published, Raab said: “I’m not quite sure the shape and the form it will come, but the prime minister has been clear there will be full transparency around this, so that people can see. We would welcome that transparency and we need to learn the lessons.”

When he was asked whether Johnson would resign if the report found the PM to be lying, he said, “The code of conduct for ministers is very clear, that if you mislead parliament it’s a resigning matter.”

Johnson had defended his attendance at the party saying that it was a “work-related event” and that he wasn’t aware of Downing Street holding any parties.

"Our belief is that it will only accelerate going into next year as people have delayed their retirements," said Jeff Sanders, co-managing partner of Heidrick's global CEO and board practice.

There were 103 CEO appointments in the first half of 2021 out of 1,095 companies in 24 regions that Heidrick studied, including the United States, China and some European countries.

Six months prior, in the second half of 2020, 49 companies changed CEOs, according to the study.

Most companies kept their leaders in place last year as they closed ranks to deal with the challenges of the pandemic. But as it receded with the help of vaccines, companies felt they were stable enough to find a new leader, Sanders said.

"Many CEOs didn't have to travel as much," which helped them preserve their energy, Sanders said. But communicating "virtually" in a new medium was "exhausting," he said.

The reluctance of many boards to meet CEO candidates physically or place risky bets on outsiders while the pandemic lingers favored internal applicants, the study found. Nearly two-thirds of new CEOs were internal candidates, up from just a little over half during the same period in 2020.

Women made up 13% of the new CEOs in the first half of this year, up from 6% in the prior period in the regions the report studied.

Yet the churn did not lead to big strides in diversity, according to the study. It found that 3% of Fortune 100 CEOs are Black, 4% are Hispanic or Latino, 4% are Asian and 1% are Middle Eastern or North African, less than their share of the U.S. population.

"I don't think (CEO diversity) is where it needs to be," Sanders said.

Nearly two-thirds of new CEOs were internal candidates, up from just a little over half during the same period in 2020. Women made up 13% of the new CEOs in the first half of this year, up from 6% in the prior period in the regions the report studied. Yet the churn did not lead to big strides in diversity, according to the study. It found that 3% of Fortune 100 CEOs are Black, 4% are Hispanic or Latino, 4% are Asian and 1% are Middle Eastern or North African, less than their share of the U.S. population. "I don't think (CEO diversity) is where it needs to be," Sanders said.

There were 10.4 million job openings, down from 10.6 million in August, which was revised higher, the data shows.

The decline in the workforce is sharply visible in those industries which are made up of in-person service jobs, such as restaurants, hotels, and retail, and factories where people work in close proximity.

The economists argue that this trend reflects that some people are quitting solely out of fear of contracting COVID-19.

However, in developing countries like India, there were no signs of mass resignations largely due to the absence of social security and unemployment benefits.
