<p>"People want things to change," said Federico Aurelio, president of consulting firm Aresco. "How? They have no idea, but they want something different."</p>

<p>Milei, a brash former TV pundit likened to Donald Trump and Jair Bolsonaro, posted a shock win in August open primaries, though Massa and Bullrich were not far behind and it may prove a close race. Pollsters expect no outright winner.</p>

<p>A candidate needs over 45% of the vote or 40% and a 10-point lead to avoid a second round run-off, which would be held on Nov. 19. Voting on Sunday will end around 6:00 pm&nbsp;(2100 GMT) and the first results are expected at 9:00 pm&nbsp;(00:00 GMT).</p>

<p>Amid this crisis, Milei has risen abruptly, pledging shock therapy to fix the economy including dollarising, shutting the central bank, reducing the size of government drastically and privatising state entities.</p>

<p>Massa, current economy chief, is in the running despite overseeing inflation hitting triple digits for the first time since 1991. He has pledged to cut the fiscal deficit, stick with the peso and defend the Peronist social welfare safety net.</p>

<p>Earlier this month, the government had instructed the eight-member "high-level" panel to examine and make recommendations at the earliest on the issue of holding simultaneous elections to the Lok Sabha, state assemblies, municipalities and panchayats.</p>

<p>Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah, Minister of State (Independent Charge) from the Ministry of Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, former Rajya Sabha leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Chairman of the 15th Finance Commission NK Singh, former Lok Sabha Secretary General Subhash Kashyap, former Chief Vigilance Commissioner Sanjay Kothari attended the meeting. Senior Advocate Harish Salve joined the meeting virtually.</p>

<p>Congress leader in the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, was not present in the meeting, the statement noted.</p>

<p>After being named as a member of the panel, Chowdhury had written to Shah, "declining to serve on the committee".</p>

<p>In the meeting, the panel decided to invite recognised national parties, parties having governments in states, those having their representatives in Parliament and other recognised state parties "for seeking suggestions or viewpoints on the issue of simultaneous elections in the country".</p>

<p>In addition to this, the committee will also invite the Law Commission for its suggestions and standpoints on the issue of simultaneous elections, according to a statement issued by the law ministry.</p>

<p>Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been advocating for "One Nation, One Election", stating that this would save a lot of money and resources.</p>

In 1119 wards across 77 municipal bodies of Jammu and Kashmir, a total of 358 seats have been reserved for women. In the Srinagar district alone, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has recommended reserving 25 out of a total of 74 wards for women in the Srinagar Municipal Corporation. For the Jammu Municipal Corporation, the proposal includes reservations for 25 wards for women, besides 10 for Scheduled Castes, and two for Scheduled Tribes.
