British police today made a sixth arrest in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Indian- origin jeweller Ramniklal Jogiya, who was found dead in Leicester last week.

The 74-year-old had gone missing as he walked home from work and was forced into a vehicle by masked men.

&quot;The 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnap and murder and is currently in police custody where he will be questioned by detectives,&quot; Leicestershire Police said.

Two other men, aged 18 and 22, both of whom are from Leicester, were arrested on suspicion of kidnap and murder on Monday and remain in police custody.

Three other Leicester men, aged 19, 20, and 23, were charged on Tuesday evening with kidnap and robbery of Jogiya.

They appeared before Leicester Magistrates&#39; Court today and were remanded to appear at Leicester Crown Court on February 28.

Jogiya, the father of three sons, was last seen on CCTV locking up and leaving the family&#39;s jewellery store Vama on Belgrave Road is known as the Golden Mile due to its row of jewellery shops, mostly run by Indian-origin merchants.

His family issued a statement through Leicestershire Police expressing their devastation at his death and paid tribute to a loved member of their &quot;close-knit family&quot;.

The statement said, &quot;Ramniklal was a loyal, gentleman who was passionate about his family.

&quot;He was a doting husband, father, granddad, brother and uncle, who loved nothing more than spending time with his family, whether it be sharing food, watching the cricket or catching up with favourite Asian TV serials with his wife&quot;.

The family also urged anyone with information about the attack to contact police so that people responsible for his death can be caught.

In 2004, Jagroop was involved in an illicit affair with Paramjeet Kaur. He killed her husband and threw him in Yamuna river, reports said.&nbsp;

Jagroop was later reportedly involved with Hema from Patiala in 2011 and killed her husband Nand Lala, he dumped his dead body in a remote area.&nbsp;

He later killed another man in 2015 and stacked his body in a bag and dumped it in Vikas Nagar, reports said.&nbsp;

In 2016, Paramjeet came to know about Jagroop&rsquo;s illicit relationship with Hema after which they killed Paramjeet in Ludhiana, the police said.&nbsp;

A case was registered against Jagroop and Hema under Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Netanyahu is a suspect in two cases. In one, he is alleged to have meddled in the media industry. The other concerns gifts he received from wealthy businessmen. He denies any wrongdoing.

Opposition lawmakers have said that the bill, tabled by Netanyahu&#39;s rightist Likud party, was designed to dampen public anger over the investigations, which has fuelled weekly demonstrations in Tel Aviv and calls for the premier&#39;s ouster.

Netanyahu defended the bill on Dec. 3 as &quot;intended to prevent publication of police recommendations which would leave a cloud over innocent people, something that happens every day&rdquo;. In 60 percent of cases where police recommend criminal charges, prosecutors decided not to indict, Netanyahu noted.

But the prime minister also called for the bill to be amended so it did not apply to the criminal investigations against him.

The final draft stipulated that the law would not be in effect regarding investigations that predate its ratification.

That has done little to mollify the opposition.

Illicit liquor racket: Six women arrested for assaulting woman who helped DCW chief

A man was arrested on Saturday evening for allegedly raping his 15-year-old daughter for over a year.&nbsp;

The accused, who was from Jagatpuri in east Delhi was booked under the protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act after the girl&#39;s mother filed a complaint when she found out that the daughter had been stealing money to buy painkillers, reports said.&nbsp;

The girl told her mother that she was being raped for over a year by her father and did not tell anyone as he had threated to kill her and that no one would believe her.&nbsp;

According to reports, the man worked as a daily wage labourer with his wife and teenage son in Jagatpuri while the girl was a class IX student.&nbsp;

It was reported that the father had come home drunk one day, upon finding the girl alone he raped her and told her not to tell anyone and had since been assaulting the girl whenever he would find her alone.&nbsp;

The girl has suffered from some medical problems due to continuous sexual encounters, she is now being counselled by psychologists and receiving treatment.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, the father is being investigated to understand how long the incident had been going on for, reports said.&nbsp;

The girl told her mother that she was being raped for over a year by her father and did not tell anyone as he had threated to kill her and that no one would believe her.

There are fresh reports of tension in&nbsp;Kerala where Jishnu Prannoy, a deceased engineering student&rsquo;s mother was arrested earlier today.&nbsp;

Jishnu Prannoy was a student of Nehru College of Engineering in Thrissur, Kerala. He was found hanging after being allegedly&nbsp;tortured by college authorities in January. Most accused in the case have not been arrested.&nbsp;

The family of the deceased believe that physical and mental harassment by the college authorities had led to Jishnu&#39;s&nbsp;suicide, his parents have demanded the&nbsp;arrest of all those who were involved, including Nehru College chairman Krishna Das. The parents have continued to protest, demanding the arrest of those responsible for their son&#39;s&nbsp;death. Mahija, mother of the deceased was forcibly removed and arrested today in front the state police headquarters after she continued her protest on the road and resisted police intervention.&nbsp;

According to the police, the protesters continued even after a warning was issued by the security personnel. Police had earlier warned the protesters to stage any form of protest at least hundred&nbsp;metres away but they paid no heed and assembled at the headquarters at 10:15am(local time).&nbsp;

It is expected that all arrested would be taken to Nandavanam police camp where they will be let off on bail.&nbsp;

Both parties, Congress and BJP have now called for a strike in Thiruvananthapuram following police action on the parents of Jishnu Prannoy.&nbsp;

A police spokesperson told news agency AFP that Jahangir Alam, 32, was detained on Friday night by counter-terrorism forces in Elenga, 120 kilometres north of the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka. "He is one of the main masterminds of the Holey Artisan Bakery (cafe) attack," Yusuf Ali, an additional deputy commissioner of the Dhaka police force. "He was a member of a new faction of Jamayetul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) and was directly involved in the murder of at least 22 religious minorities including Hindu priests and a Christian and foreigners (at the cafe)," he said. The Daily Star reported that Alam, who went by the alias Gandhi, has been placed in an eight-day remand by a Dhaka court’. The arrest comes only a week after police killed another plotter of the cafe attack in a shootout in the country's capital city. Sanwar Hossain, an additional deputy commissioner of the police's counter-terrorism and transnational crime unit, told AFP that Alam was a close associate of Tamim Chowdhury, a Bangladeshi-Canadian who was named as the primary plotter of the cafe siege. Chowdhury was killed during a raid outside the capital last August. The Dhaka Tribune reported the counter-terrorism unit chief as saying that Alam started off as a cook in JMB and went on to become Chowdhury's trusted deputy. "(Alam) was notorious.
