We have been updating you on the developments of Parineeti Chopra’s next film, the official Hindi remake of ‘The Girl On The Train’ as she shoots for it in the UK.

The actress recently revealed the first look from the film as she looks bloodied and bruised. Sporting an injury on her forehead as she looks visibly shaken in the first look, Parineeti captioned the image, “Something I’ve never done before. And the most difficult character I have ever played in my life. #FirstLook #TheGirlOnTheTrain @reliance.entertainment @sarkarshibasish @amblin.”

Reliance Entertainment also shared two pictures from the film featuring the actress. Parineeti, if nothing else, looks dark and sinister -- setting the mood for the film. While we have seen the original film starring Emily Blunt that came out in 2016, Parineeti’s story will have a change of circumstances and backdrop.

#FirstLook #TheGirlOnTheTrain @reliance.entertainment @sarkarshibasish @amblin.” Reliance Entertainment also shared two pictures from the film featuring the actress. Parineeti, if nothing else, looks dark and sinister -- setting the mood for the film. While we have seen the original film starring Emily Blunt that came out in 2016, Parineeti’s story will have a change of circumstances and backdrop. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures and Shailesh Singh`s Karma Media Net, the flick is directed by Prashant Singh. The film will hit the theatres on August 2. Meanwhile, Parineeti, who last appeared in `Kesari` alongside Akshay Kumar, will be next seen in `Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar` opposite Arjun Kapoor, `Bhuj: The Pride Of India`, the Saina Nehwal biopic and the Hindi remake of `The Girl on the Train`. On the other hand, Sidharth will next appear in `Marjaavan` opposite `Ek Villain` co-star Riteish Deshmukh and debutante Tara Sutaria.

Parineeti Chopra has now bagged the remake of Hollywood hit film ‘The Girl On The Train’ that released in 2015. The announcement was made by Reliance Entertainment.

The Hollywood film was an adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ 2017 runaway bestseller by the same name that was adapted by Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks Pictures. The lead role was played by Emily Blunt in the film who went on to receive a nomination for her performance at the 23rd Screen Actors Guild Awards, as well as a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

The same role will now be essayed by our very own Parineeti who is said to play an alcoholic divorcée who becomes involved in a missing person’s investigation in the film. It will be directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. The film will although have the same theme, it will be reimagined for an Indian audience with some change in context.

In a statement, an excited Parineeti said, “I want to do roles that audiences haven’t seen me in before and ones that require a lot of prep and homework, which is why The Girl On The Train really worked for me. The character is an alcoholic and a victim of abuse, and I haven’t explored anything like her onscreen before”.

She continued, “It’s exciting because I never thought I’d actually be doing a film around a book I’ve read and loved. I relate to the character because I’ve studied and worked in London, it’s my second home… I even know the tube maps inside out. I can’t wait to start shooting the film and relive those days and I hope people enjoy seeing me in a completely new avatar in this film.” she added.

Director Ribhu also spoke on casting Parineeti and said, “The character is edgy, dark, and gritty along with being extremely emotional. So it is great to team up with someone like Parineeti, who is an extremely sincere actor and a powerful performer.”

The film is expected to go on floors around July 2019. It will entirely be set in the UK and the makers are still in the process of locking the location. The film will most likely release in 2020.

'Kesari' trailer: Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra present a 19th century story of valour

All those hoping to see Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor in ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’ on March 1, will have to wait some more as makers decide to look for an alternative release date.

March 1 is when two other films release -- ‘Sonchiriya’ and ‘Luka Chuppi’.

‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’ by Yash Raj Films wants a cleaner release window and don’t want three films to come out on the same day. This has started a hunt for a new release date for Arjun and Parineeti starrer.

The film is helmed by Dibakar Banerjee and is a taut thriller. A source close to the development revealed, “It is a fully multiplex film and it is a thriller. It definitely needs a clean release period. Now, two films are releasing on March 1, and both are urban, multiplex films targeting similar theatre-going audience set. It doesn’t make sense to have a three-way clash and YRF is thinking about other release dates for the film. A clean and clear run will benefit the film tremendously and YRF has to look at the release schedule closely to arrive at a decision.”

Kesari: Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra share first look of the film, call it as an 'epic experience'

As Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas exchanged vows on Saturday in a catholic ceremony, cousin Parineeti Chopra penned an emotional note for the newlyweds. She is happy about how the culturally different families of the bride and groom have united.

Sharing a picture from Priyanka`s mehendi on Instagram, Parineeti welcomed Nick to her family and is all praise for her "jiju" (brother-in-law).

"The job of us bridesmaids was to make sure the bride was happy and comfortable at all times. But we did not have to worry about it because Nick promised to do it all his life.

"Welcome to the family Nick jiju! I am so so happy that the Jonas and Chopra family is now united," she wrote.

'Namaste England', 'Badhaai Ho' get new release dates

Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor promote their film 'Namaste England' on the sets of 'Indian Idol'

'Namaste England' actress Parineeti Chopra has spoken in support of Tanushree Dutta in the wake of the controversy surrounding her and Nana Patekar.

Parineeti spoke about women security and how urged women to speak up. "Honestly I really hope this is not the start of a #MeToo movement, because it would mean there are several such stories and I hope this is the first and the last story. If there are victims, especially women in the industry, actresses who have faced this, I want every woman to come out and speak. If they don't speak now, they will forever be suppressed. Personally, I've never gone through such an experience, if God forbid this happened with me I would have never kept quiet," she further added.

The star said that it's vital for women to feel secure in the industry.

"Keeping quiet is not the solution ever. This is something very serious which has happened to someone if it has happened. I'm not taking sides because I wasn't there. If it has happened, it's the worst thing that can happen to a woman", said Parineeti.

Arjun Kapoor, co-star of Parineeti in 'Namaste England' said that it was extremely important for people not to pass judgments but simply hear the actor's side.

"I have two sisters in this industry and two others working elsewhere. I hope every woman feels safe...This happens everywhere, it's the reality but one person gathered courage and decided to speak up. We need to understand that it's important to listen first."

"Problem is we start chaos and don't listen. That girl has spoken about something that's so dreaded... She deserves to be heard, before hurling judgments, taking sides, pointing fingers or asking if this will be a movement. You have to understand it first", said the actor.

He also said one must look at this situation accurately. "We are processing it now that this has happened... This issue happens across. We all need to introspect right now. We need to listen, understand, and make sure if there are more such stories, they should come out. Let's not make noise for the wrong reasons," he added.

Director of the movie Vipul Shah was also present at the promotional event "Nameste England" which is scheduled to release on October 19.

Tanushree Dutta’s recent claims of harassment and abuse against veteran actor Nana Patekar and director Vivek Agnihotri, on separate incidents, has opened a can of worms with reference to the industry’s response to #MeToo campaign. While she accused Nana of harassment on the sets of ‘Horn Ok Pleassss’ leading her to walk out of the film, she accused Vivek of asking her to ‘strip and dance’ while shooting for ‘Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets’.

Nana has meanwhile laughed off all accusations and said he would opt for a legal route instead of addressing this issue in the media, Vivek is still to respond.

Tanushree Dutta’s recent claims of harassment and abuse against veteran actor Nana Patekar and director Vivek Agnihotri, on separate incidents, has opened a can of worms with reference to the industry’s response to #MeToo campaign.

Yesterday at the trailer launch of ‘Thugs of Hindostan’, Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan avoided answering questions on the matter but there are some from the fraternity, especially the ladies who have come out in support of Tanushree. Tanushree’s claims against Nana came out on a strong foothold when a journalist named Janice shared a thread that gave details of the harassment incident. Actor-producer Farhan Akhtar took to Twitter to share the thread and wrote: “This thread is very telling. @janiceseq85 was there at the time of the incident being debated today. Even when #TanushreeDutta had career concerns to keep quiet 10 years ago she did not & her story hasn’t changed now. Her courage should be admired, not her intention questioned.” This thread is very telling. @janiceseq85 was there at the time of the incident being debated today.
