<p>What was more shocking was that the previous owner had also removed three out of the four baths and the magnificent stained-glass windows, as well as some of the panelling of the library. The panelling was carved by the firm which had rebuilt the Houses of Parliament.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The new owner also found that the holiday homes were entirely gutted and the workmen had torn out the staircase from the estate’s clock tower.</p>

<p>"I was distraught. It was like a warzone or like a tornado had shredded the place. He took pretty much every door handle, tiles off the wall, the locks were removed," Caton said.</p>

<p>"There was some very random and bizarre destruction. I don’t understand the mentality behind it – it’s staggering that you can be that cruel actually," he added.</p>

<p>Speaking to the Mail, Caton accepted that all of their "worst fears" have become reality.</p>

<p>"I wanted to close the door, walk away and put it back on the market and never come back," Caton added.</p>

<p>Humphrey Herington, a nursery owner in Australia, racked his brain for weeks to find the thief who was eating his seedlings. At first, he thought it was goats who escaped their shelter. However, he discovered later that it was not a fast animal but a lazy koala.&nbsp;</p>

<p>One day, Herington walked into work and encountered a cheeky possum, dubbed Claude, dizzy and too sated to move, surrounded by stripped eucalypt plants.</p>

<p>"He looked like he was full. He looked very pleased with himself," he told the BBC. "We came out to work one morning, and he was sitting on a pole. There were lots of plants missing that morning. I guess, the koala must have had a big feed and was too tired to return to his tree."</p>

<p>According to the staff at the Eastern Forest Nursery near Lismore in New South Wales, the plants Claude was snacking on cost them $3,800 (A$6,000). They are now building a koala-proof fence around the seedling tables to prevent the marsupial from eating more plants.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In 2022, Australia listed koalas as endangered species along most of the East Coast as their numbers declined drastically due to land clearing, bushfires, drought, diseases and other reasons. The irony is that the nursery was growing the plants Claude ate to boost koala habitats in the region.</p>

<p>The team first noticed the chewed plants a few months ago. "There weren't really any signs, there was no tracks or anything to indicate what it could have been," Herington said. "It was a mystery," he added.</p>

<p>Despite setting a possum trap and examining animal droppings for clues, they caught the culprit when he became too greedy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When Herington learned Claude, the koala, was the thief, he gently wrapped him in a towel and placed him on a tree about 300 metres from the nursery. However, the arboreal marsupial returned and continued his night-time visits to the nursery.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Herington isn't mad at Claude. He's amused, as koalas aren't known for their agility or ingenuity. "I just couldn't believe it was a koala. I was shocked but was also a little bit impressed," he said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Herington has been at the nursery for 20 years, but it was the first time something like this happened. "Is it that there is a shortage of food?" he wondered.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A 2021 NSW food inquiry found koalas would be extinct by 2050 unless they took urgent action. According to some conservation groups, as few as 50,000 koalas remain in the wild.</p>

However, he discovered later that it was not a fast animal but a lazy koala. One day, Herington walked into work and encountered a cheeky possum, dubbed Claude, dizzy and too sated to move, surrounded by stripped eucalypt plants. "He looked like he was full. He looked very pleased with himself," he told the BBC. "We came out to work one morning, and he was sitting on a pole. There were lots of plants missing that morning. I guess, the koala must have had a big feed and was too tired to return to his tree." According to the staff at the Eastern Forest Nursery near Lismore in New South Wales, the plants Claude was snacking on cost them $3,800 (A$6,000). They are now building a koala-proof fence around the seedling tables to prevent the marsupial from eating more plants. In 2022, Australia listed koalas as endangered species along most of the East Coast as their numbers declined drastically due to land clearing, bushfires, drought, diseases and other reasons. The irony is that the nursery was growing the plants Claude ate to boost koala habitats in the region. "There weren't really any signs, there was no tracks or anything to indicate what it could have been," Herington said. "It was a mystery," he added. Despite setting a possum trap and examining animal droppings for clues, they caught the culprit when he became too greedy. When Herington learned Claude, the koala, was the thief, he gently wrapped him in a towel and placed him on a tree about 300 metres from the nursery. However, the arboreal marsupial returned and continued his night-time visits to the nursery. Herington isn't mad at Claude. He's amused, as koalas aren't known for their agility or ingenuity. "I just couldn't believe it was a koala. I was shocked but was also a little bit impressed," he said. Herington has been at the nursery for 20 years, but it was the first time something like this happened. "Is it that there is a shortage of food?" he wondered. A 2021 NSW food inquiry found koalas would be extinct by 2050 unless they took urgent action. According to some conservation groups, as few as 50,000 koalas remain in the wild. <h2><strong>Gym owner arrested on charges of negligence</strong></h2>

<p>The police arrested the gym manager Anubhav Duggal.</p>

<p>He was booked under Indian Penal Code sections 287 (negligent conduct with respect to machinery) and 304A (causing death by negligence).</p>

<p>Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) G S Sidhu reportedly said, “The call came to the K N K Marg police station. The local police reached the hospital and learned that the man was brought to the BSA hospital in an unconscious state from a gym in Sector 15, and he died there later.”</p>

<p>Moreover, a senior police officer quoted by media reports said, “He was last seen using a treadmill at the gym and suffered an electric shock during the exercise. Based on the medico-legal case and post-mortem report, we have registered a case against the gym owners and the management."&nbsp;</p>

India: Man electrocuted on treadmill at Delhi gym, owner arrested

<p>In Lucknow's Kaiserbagh neighbourhood on Tuesday, retired teacher Sushila Tripathi was fatally attacked by an American Pit Bull Terrier that belonged to her family. &nbsp;While being transported to the hospital, the woman passed away from her wounds. The dog attacked the woman on Tuesday while she was at home with her domestic assistance, according to a police officer.</p>

<p>“She suffered several injuries after the dog attacked her while she was eating. She struggled to get the dog off her and the domestic help tried to intervene but to no avail,” said the official.</p>

<p>Amit Tripathi, Sushila's son, had taken the dog home. Amit is a fitness instructor who also owns a Labrador Retriever. Municipal Commissioner Singh said, “We have not been able to meet the woman’s family members yet. Our team visited the house but it was locked. We will investigate the incident further.”</p>

<p>The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) made an appeal to local people on Wednesday to "avoid keeping dangerous breeds of dogs as pets" a day after an 82-year-old woman was fatally attacked by her family's pet American Pit Bull Terrier dog.</p>

<p>Indrajeet Singh, the Lucknow Municipal Commissioner, urged citizens to choose "small and amiable dog breeds" as opposed to "threatening ones" in a statement.</p>

Arrangements should be made for their food and stay according to their nature." The statement added that pet owners with bigger dogs should not bother them while they are eating their meals and that meat should be avoided in their meals.</p>

The dog, which is of German Shepherd breed, seems to be travelling for over two km every day, as per the video. The clip is sure to bring a smile on the face of the viewer. It was shared on Instagram around a week ago by a content creator with over 46,000 followers. Till now, the video has got over 10,28,541 likes. It seems to be a simple way to lift the spirits and brighten the day. In it, the dog can be seen walking on the side of a road. The animal is carrying a lunch box, which is dangling from his mouth. <p>The Premier League board has disqualified Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich as a director at the English top-flight club, the league said in a statement on Saturday.</p>

<p>The move comes after the billionaire Russian had sanctions imposed on him by the British government after Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.</p>

<p>"Following the imposition of sanctions by the UK Government, the Premier League Board has disqualified Roman Abramovich as a Director of Chelsea Football Club," the Premier League said.</p>

<p>The owner of the hotel, which collapsed here last week killing 10 people, was today arrested in connection with the incident, police said.</p>

<p>Shankar Paryani, 55, who carried a reward of Rs 10,000, was arrested and charged under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and Section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Indore Ranger Deputy Inspector General of Police HC Mishra told PTI.</p>

<p>Mishra said that Paryani was booked because he was running the 60-year-old hotel, situated near the Sarvate bus stand, despite knowing that the three-story structure was dilapidated and posed a risk to the lives of people.</p>

<p>Eyewitnesses had earlier told police that the hotel collapsed after a speeding car hit one of its main load-bearing pillars on Saturday night.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, in a statement issued from Delhi today, sought strict action against those responsible for the tragedy.</p>

<p>Officials said that she spoke to local authorities over phone and asked them to ensure that such incidents did not recur.</p>

<p>Separate teams of the district administration, as well as municipal authorities, are investigating the incident, officials said.</p>
