But when she underwent a thorough examination days ahead of her marriage; Duan Jie, a veteran gynaecologist, revealed the complicated situation.

The doctor revealed Li had CAH, a rare disease only found in about 1 in 50,000 newborns.

Li also suffers from osteoporosis and vitamin D deficiency, the test results revealed.

Dr Fruth,&nbsp;who is the head of the LuiKotale Bonobo Project, and has been researching these animals for more than 20 years, thinks that this is most likely what was happening when the image was taken.

Charlie Hanks, owner of a small dark shop in the middle of a Las Vegas strip mall came up with an ingenious idea; she's selling small bottles of what looks like dirty water and is being sold under the name "Lake Mead Corpse Water".

Hanks, owner of a metaphysical store named Blaspheme Boutique sells items related to magic, witchcraft and other dark topics.

Talking to KTLA, Hanks explained that this started as a joke. She said that traditionally corpse water is used in witchcraft practices, but that what she's selling isn't really corpse water.

The shop owner said that she didn't really want to steal water from the already depleting waters of the lake.&nbsp;

Hanks and her husband sell the "corpse water" for $7.77 per bottle. So far, the couple has sold 75 bottles online and around 50 in store.

The dark humour hasn't floated well with everyone, who think&nbsp;that the couple is just exploiting the deaths of Mafia victims.

Lake Mead levels, the country's largest reservoir, have dropped to 1,055 feet, setting a new drought record in Las Vegas. It hasn't been this low since 1937.

It has a capacity of 9.6 trillion gallons (36 trillion litres) of water and was full in 2000, but the water level has decreased by 70 per cent in the two decades since.

The reservoir's lowering water levels has unearthed dead remains, one of which was discovered crammed in a rusted barrel. These skeletal human remains are thought to be the bodies of mafia victims who were dumped in the water.

Vaz had made the revelation not only about a sizeable order of sildenafil, the active ingredient in drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction but also about the purchase of 60 penile prostheses.

Bolsonaro, a former army captain, remained silent on the most recent revelation that the military had obtained 60 penile implants.

Instead, he said, "we take abuse every day from a press that acts in very bad faith and is ignorant on the matter."

The new record for the longest detected megaflash, measured in the southern US on April 29, 2020, stretched a full 768 kilometres, or 477.2 miles, across Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.

World Meteorological Organization (WMO) says that this is roughly equivalent to the distance between New York City and Columbus, Ohio, or London and Hamburg.

The bolt zigzagged 60 kilometres further than the previous record set on October 31, 2018, in southern Brazil. &nbsp;

The committee of experts for weather and climate extremes of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) also reported a new world record for the lightning flash duration.

It was set by a single flash that developed continuously through a thunderstorm on June 18, 2020 in northern Argentina and Uruguay. It lasted 17.1 seconds, which was 0.37 seconds longer than the previous record on March 4, 2019.

"These are extraordinary records from single lightning flash events," Randall Cerveny, the WMO rapporteur of weather and climate extremes, said in the statement.

"Environmental extremes are living measurements of the power of nature, as well as scientific progress in being able to make such assessments," he said.

Lightning flashes can now be detected for greater lengths and durations thanks to technology that has improved dramatically in recent years.

In 2018, and in 2019, new satellite lightning imaging technology verified the previous "megaflash" records. These records are more than double the previous records based on ground-based technology.

"It is likely that even greater extremes still exist, and that we will be able to observe them as lightning detection technology improves," Cerveny said.

The WMO noted that the new record strikes occurred in the Great Plains in North America and the La Plata basin in South America, which are known hotspots for Mesoscale Convective Systems (MCS), which enable megaflashes.

These flashes were not isolated events, but occurred during active and large-scale thunderstorms, making them all the more hazardous.

"Lightning is a major hazard that claims many lives every year," WMO chief Petteri Taalas said in the statement.

"The findings highlight important public lightning safety concerns for electrified clouds where flashes can travel extremely large distances."

The WMO Archive of Weather and Climate Extremes preserves all such weather-related records.

Currently, the archive contains two other lightning-related extremes.&nbsp;

There is one record for the most deaths caused by a single direct lightning strike, with 21 people dying in Zimbabwe in 1975 while huddling in the hut hit by lightning.

A second instance involved an indirect lightning strike at Dronka, Egypt, in 1994, which caused a flood of burning oil and the deaths of 469 people.

Scientists at Emory University in the US state of Georgia conducted functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) on 50 grandmothers who were shown pictures of their grandchildren aged between three and 12 years old.

"They recruited areas of the brain that are involved with emotional empathy, and also areas of the brain that are involved in movement and motor simulation and preparation," James Rilling, an anthropologist and neuroscientist who led the study.

"When they're viewing these pictures of their grandchild, they're really feeling what the grandchild is feeling. So when the child is expressing joy, they're feeling that joy. When the children are expressing distress, they're feeling that distress."

"The prevalence of heavy or obese dogs is more than twice as large among overweight or obese owners (35 per cent) than among owners who are slim or of normal weight (14 per cent)," the researchers said.

Of the 268 dogs studied, 20 per cent were overweight.

Average-weight owners tend to use treats for training purposes while overweight owners prefer to provide treats in convivial situations, "for example, when a person is relaxing on the couch and shares the last bites of a sandwich or a cookie with their dog," the study's main author, Charlotte Bjornvad, said.

In developed countries, 34 to 59 per cent of dogs are overweight or obese, which can reduce their life expectancy and mobility or cause diabetes and cardiac disease just like in humans, another international team of researchers found in 2016.

On average, overweight dogs live 1.3 years less than dogs on restrictive diets.

The University of Copenhagen study also showed that castration tripled the risk of being heavy or obese.

"Castration seems to decrease the ability to regulate the appetite in male dogs and at the same time, it might also decrease the incentive to exercise which results in an increased risk of becoming overweight," Bjornvad said.
