<p>But the romance has not gone down well in&nbsp;Norway&nbsp;because the African-American "sixth generation shaman" suggested cancer is a choice in his book "Spirit Hacking".</p>

<p>He has also recommended exercises to remove "imprints" from women's vaginas left by previous sexual partners.</p>

<p>And on his website, he sells a medallion &nbsp;-- for $222 -- dubbed a "Spirit Optimizer" which he claims helped him overcome Covid.</p>

<p>All of which has raised eyebrows in no-nonsense&nbsp;Norway.</p>

<p>"He's an imposter, a charlatan and a crook," according to columnist and humourist Dagfinn Nordbo.</p>

<p><strong>Racism?&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p>A poll last month found 17 percent of Norwegians now have a lower opinion of the royal family, nearly all citing the princess and the shaman as the reason.</p>

<p>The criticism comes amid debate over the role of monarchy in many European countries, with several royal houses announcing moves to slim down and modernise.</p>

<p>Denmark and Sweden have cut back their households, and Britain is reportedly considering the same under King Charles.</p>

<p>Norway's monarchy has long enjoyed broad support, due largely to its down-to-earth ways, with 85-year-old King Harald -- who married a commoner -- known for adopting the country's progressive values.</p>

<p>While Verrett has said he understands his beliefs may be unsettling for some, he claims he is a victim of racism -- echoing fellow African-American Meghan Markle complaints since she joined Britain's royal family.</p>

<p>"White people write all this hate and death threats to us and all this stuff for being together because... they don't want to see a black man in the royal family," he said in a video posted to Instagram on June 9.</p>

<p>Martha Louise said she was "really shocked" to see how he and "black people and people of colour get treated."</p>

<p>Oslo's former mayor, Fabian Stang, is one of the few to have spoken out in support of the couple.</p>

<p>"Selling medallions to bring good health is going too far... but it's strange that so many of those who hate Durek had nothing against the Snasa man," he wrote on Facebook in a reference to a famous Norwegian faith healer who died last year.</p>

<p>"In 2022, should we not be able to welcome Durek with open arms and invite him to a serious debate on the line between science and hoax?"</p>

<p>Still, more than half of Norwegians want Martha Louise to renounce her title of princess, recent polls show.</p>

<p>Several groups of healthcare professionals have also dropped the princess as a patron because of her fiance's penchant for alternative medicine.</p>

<p>This is not the first time Martha Louise, fourth in the line of succession behind her younger brother Crown Prince Haakon and his two children, has courted controversy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She lost her honorific "Her Royal Highness" in 2002 when she withdrew from royal duties to be a clairvoyant, and in 2019 she agreed not to use her princess title in her commercial endeavours.</p>

<p>He committed suicide in 2019, three years after their divorce.</p>

<p>"The royal family is meant to be a unifying force. The problem is that Martha Louise and Durek Verrett are exactly the opposite: controversial and polarising with suspicions of charlatanism," said historian Trond Noren Isaksen.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Most Norwegians despise the fact that you can make money off of what they consider to be nonsense that comes with the stamp of approval from a princess."</p>

<p>According to celebrity magazines, King Harald, Martha Louise and Crown Prince Haakon have held "crisis meetings" to discuss whether the princess can retain her title.&nbsp;</p>

<p>So far the king has said very little about his future son-in-law, referring only to a "culture clash".</p>

<p>"Something has to be done," Noren Isaksen insisted.</p>

<p>"The royal couple have to reconcile two priorities -- of parents who want to see their children live happy lives... and protecting the crown so that it will continue to shine brightly for another thousand years."</p>

Other than the two Nordic countries, the minister will also visit Malta. The visit to the two Nordic countries comes in the backdrop of&nbsp;Denmark hosting the second India-Nordic summit. The summit saw the participation of all five Nordic countries and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.</p>

The last major incoming visit from Iceland was by Gudlaugur Thor Thordarson in 2018. Back then, Thordarson was the foreign minister of Iceland. India continues its Nordic outreach as MoS MEA Meenakshi Lekhi to visit Iceland, Norway next month

<p>A Norwegian woman remains on course to climb the world’s 14 “super peaks” in the shortest time ever, her Instagram account said, after she summitted Pakistan’s Broad Peak, the ninth mountain on her quest.</p>

<p>Pakistan is home to five of the world’s 14 super peaks — those over 8,000 metres (26,246 feet). Climbing them all is considered the ultimate achievement by mountaineers.</p>

<p>Kristin&nbsp;Harila&nbsp;is taking on Nepali adventurer Nirmal Purja’s 2019 record of six months and six days for climbing all 14.</p>

<p>On Thursday, day 76 of her pursuit, she scaled Broad Peak, the twelfth highest, a message on her Instagram page said.</p>

<p>Officials from the Alpine Club of Pakistan were not immediately available to confirm the 36-year-old’s latest feat, but it comes just six days after they said she had summitted K2, the world’s second highest peak.</p>

<p>As per onlookers, Freya is often seen causing chaos in some European countries including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden. But this year, the 600-kilogramme cute marine mammal has chosen Norway's capital Oslo as her holiday destination.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Media reports state that for a week, Freya has entertained the Norwegians by basking in the sun of the Oslo fjord. Its recent media appearance is for bending a few boats.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Locals are curious about the presence of the mammal as normally it lives in the even more northerly latitudes of the Arctic.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It is receiving an ample amount of media attention. Newspaper Verdens Gang even put up a live stream of the walrus's every move on its website.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Rolf Harald Jensen, a fisheries official, told broadcaster TV2, "It's a pity about the material damage but that's the way it is when you have wild animals." Jensen spoke while standing next to a hapless inflatable boat buckling under the animal's weight.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Freya is causing some trouble definitely, but no injuries have been reported so far. Media reports have noted that after considering moving her to another place, but the Norwegian authorities have decided to leave her in peace.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"(She) is not necessarily as slow and ham-fisted as one might think when she is resting. A walrus is not normally a danger to humans as long as you keep a safe distance. But if it is disturbed by humans and doesn't get the rest it needs, it may feel threatened and attack," it added.&nbsp;</p>

The decision was taken after they were warned that the ongoing strikes could cut down the gas exports in the country by more than half. Three fields were shut due to the ongoing worker strike and the union even warned that more workers will be going on strike next week. "The announced escalation is critical in today's situation, both with regards to the energy crisis and the geopolitical situation we are in with a war in Europe," Labour Minister Marte Mjos Persen said in a statement according to a report by AFP.</p>

<p>"Norwegian deliveries account for a quarter of European energy supplies, and Europe is entirely dependent on Norway delivering as a nation at a time when Russian supply cuts have created a very tight market for natural gas," the Norwegian Oil and Gas Association said in response.</p>

<p>The industry group known as the Norwegian Oil and Gas Association warned the government that around 56 per cent of the total gas exports can get affected by the strikes. That roughly amounted to a production loss of 341,000 barrels of oil a day – a major loss for the economy of the nation.</p>

<p>The Norwegian legislation provides a special power to the government where they can intervene and force parties in a labour dispute to drop the matter and decide it in front of a wage board.</p>

<p>Queried about the number of ships that CSL has delivered to foreign customers, Shivram N, General Manager, Business Development told WION that they numbered more than 40. He also added that, in the case of the two Norwegian barges, the basic autonomous equipment has been fitted at CSL and all necessary outfitting and cabling were done here. However, the advanced sensors would be progressively installed in Norway.</p>

<p>Designed by Naval Dynamics, Norway using Kongsberg Maritime systems, these vessels were built at CSL with detailed engineering carried out by CSL. These vessels are built under DNV GL Classification and flagged in Norway, under the rule regulations of the Norwegian Maritime Authority. Once in operation, these vessels will create a new benchmark for the merchant shipping world in the field of Autonomous Vessels with Zero Carbon Emission.</p>

<p>In a first-of-its-kind event, the two vessels will be transported in a yacht transport carrier to Norway. The newly built vessels were loaded to a large mother ship on Sunday and the mother ship is expected to set sail from Kochi on Tuesday and would reach Norway in about a month.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Muslim community living in Australia has accused Twitter of failing to take action against accounts that incite hatred on its platform.</p>

<p>Citing a manifesto of the extremist who killed 77 people in Norway in 2011, an advocacy group for the community has lodged a complaint against Twitter with the Queensland Human Rights Commission.</p>

<p>The group has claimed that as a publisher Twitter is responsible for content posted by a far-right account related to the incident in Norway.</p>

<p>Comments on the account include Islam as “the most violent and sexually perverse cult”, “Ramadan means killing infidels” and alleges that Qur’an should be referred to as the “terrorist handbook”.</p>

<p>The ministry was referring to Norway's longstanding role as a mediator in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.</p>

<p>Norway's social democrat government announced its new policy on Friday, saying it was not enough to label products coming from the occupied territories as Israeli.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The measure mainly concerns imports of wine, olive oil, fruits and vegetables, and will apply to products from the occupied West Bank "including East Jerusalem" and occupied areas of the Golan Heights, Oslo said.</p>

<p>Amid escalating situation in eastern Ukraine, Norway has donated 22 self-propelled howitzers to the war-torn nation. The Norwegian defence ministry said on Wednesday (June 8) that the supply included spare parts, ammunition and other gear.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a statement, the ministry&nbsp;said, "The Norwegian government has waited to publicly announce the donation for security reasons. Future donations may not be announced or commented upon."&nbsp;</p>

<p>After Russia on February 24 announced the decision to invade Ukraine, the so-called "special military operation", the United States and several Western countries came forward to supply arms and milliary aid to support Ukrainian resistance while countering Russia.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Recently on June 5, Ukrainian deputy defence minister Ganna Malyar said that Ukraine needs continued military support from Western countries until it defeated Russian forces.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The European allies have supplied weapons to Kyiv such as drones, Howitzer heavy artillery, anti-aircraft Stinger and anti-tank Javelin missiles.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Recently, US President Joe Biden said Washington would supply Ukraine with M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or HIMARS. Biden especially mentioned that he received assurances from Kyiv that it would not be used to target Russia.&nbsp;</p>
