<p>CSK skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni felt many "things went wrong" for his side.</p>

<p>"We started well, were right on the mark for the first 10-12 overs. Then, a few catches were dropped, a few misfields, the death over bowling wasn't great. We don't have bowlers who hit the deck, it was slightly tough on them."</p>

<p>Dhoni said he would prefer a one-on-one meeting with his players rather than a team meeting.</p>

<p>"We do have one-on-one plans, we needed to know where we could cut-off the boundaries, which batsmen to target, a boundary-less or two could have made a difference to a 10-12 run over or a 7-run over. We needed to build some momentum, but we need to know when to plan for those.</p>

<p>"It is a tough thing - this so-called momentum, it doesn't really matter, a good start from the bowlers will make things tight, once you set the tone, the game goes along in that flow.</p>

<p>"Bravo has a hamstring injury, we don't have a few players, we already have some injuries, David Willey isn't there, he has his own problems, Lungi Ngidi isn't with us as well, we will have to look at the pitch and then decide on the right combination," the former India skipper added.</p>

<p>MI captain Rohit Sharma was delighted with the result.</p>

<p>"We don't want the headache of winning every game at the back-end of the tournament. It becomes very tough. I thought 170 was a fighting total because there was something in the pitch.</p>

<p>"If we knock a few wickets with the new ball, we'll be in the game. That's probably why I can't find a game-changing moment in this 40 overs."<br />
Kieron Pollard called Hardik "phenomenal" and explained his role in the current setup.</p>

<p>"The Pandya boys have been batting well, so being the more experienced guy I have to take the initiative and try to do well whenever I come in.&nbsp;<br />
"(Why are you not bowling?) That's a question you'll have to ask the skipper. I think as a team we strive on momentum.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"(Hardik) is phenomenal. For us it's just about encouraging him and giving him that opportunity. He practices like that," Pollard said.&nbsp;</p>

Mumbai Indians' Hardik Pandya Wednesday termed the last seven months the toughest of his life "when I didn't know what to do", and dedicated the award-winning performance in the IPL to those who stood by him. Pandya smashed an eight-ball 25 and then picked up three wickets to power MI to a 37-run win over Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai. "It feels pretty good to help the team to win and contribute. It's been seven months that I've hardly played games. They weren't easy and I didn't know what to do. I've just batted and batted. I want to improve my game every day. It's a fantastic feeling batting like that and making your team win." The India all-rounder got embroiled in a controversy after his outrage-evoking comments on women in a chat show earlier this year. But he has overcome that now. "I was out with injury and then some other controversy happened. I want to dedicate this Man of the Match to my family and friends, who stood with me in the toughest times. <p>R Ashwin-led Punjab will face Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in <a href="https://www.wionews.com/ipl-2019">Indian Premier League 2019</a> in the first match of Saturday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With the tournament still in its early stages and the two teams having won a game each, the balance is not tilted in anyone's favour and the game will be evenly poised.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For Punjab, Chris Gayle, who is in prime form as he blasted 79 off just 47 balls in their campaign first match, is the key man in the batting department.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While other batsmen Sarfaraz Khan, Mayank Aggarwal and David Miller impressed with their batting.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But the opener KL Rahul needs to focus on his form and his batting was poor in both the previous matches.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The two rival sides boast of some star players in their line-up and each team will hope to its best when it matters.</p>

<p>Punjab, who are yet to win an IPL title, opened their campaign this season on a winning note against Rajasthan. But, the match caught the headlines more for Ashwin's 'Mankading' of Buttler that triggered a dramatic collapse for the Rajasthan. Punjab eventually won by 14 runs.&nbsp;</p>

<p>That particular game also saw Punjab's opener Chris Gayle in prime form as he blasted 79 off just 47 balls while Sarfaraz Khan remained unbeaten on 46 off 29, giving the Ashwin-led side a boost in the batting department.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Andre Russell's sensational 17-ball 48 and Robin Uthappa's 67 not out and Nitish Rana's 63 left Punjab bowlers in a daze. Even the likes of Ashwin and speedster Mohammed Shami did not have an answer to Kolkata's blitzkrieg.&nbsp;</p>

R Ashwin-led Punjab will face Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Indian Premier League 2019 in the first match of Saturday. With the tournament still in its early stages and the two teams having won a game each, the balance is not tilted in anyone's favour and the game will be evenly poised. For Punjab, Chris Gayle, who is in prime form as he blasted 79 off just 47 balls in their campaign first match, is the key man in the batting department. While other batsmen Sarfaraz Khan, Mayank Aggarwal and David Miller impressed with their batting. But the opener KL Rahul needs to focus on his form and his batting was poor in both the previous matches. The two rival sides boast of some star players in their line-up and each team will hope to its best when it matters. Watch the preview: × Punjab, who are yet to win an IPL title, opened their campaign this season on a winning note against Rajasthan. But, the match caught the headlines more for Ashwin's 'Mankading' of Buttler that triggered a dramatic collapse for the Rajasthan. Punjab eventually won by 14 runs. That particular game also saw Punjab's opener Chris Gayle in prime form as he blasted 79 off just 47 balls while Sarfaraz Khan remained unbeaten on 46 off 29, giving the Ashwin-led side a boost in the batting department. Andre Russell's sensational 17-ball 48 and Robin Uthappa's 67 not out and Nitish Rana's 63 left Punjab bowlers in a daze. Even the likes of Ashwin and speedster Mohammed Shami did not have an answer to Kolkata's blitzkrieg. For Punjab, opener Lokesh Rahul is yet to hit his top form, managing just five runs from previous two outings, and he will be hoping to get back to his best in Mohali. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have come into this match, having notched up a 6-run win over Bangalore, with India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah stamping his class. 'We playing at IPL level, not club cricket,' Virat Kohli to on-field umpires for missing a no-ball

<p>An umpiring howler off the last deliver cost&nbsp;Bangalore dearly as Mumbai pipped the hosts by six runs largely due to Jasprit Bumrah's brilliant spell at the death in an IPL encounter on Thursday.</p>

<p>Needing six to take the game into Super Over, Lasith Malinga's final delivery to Shivam Dube was a no-ball that was missed by the on-field umpires as Bangalore managed 181 for 5 in reply to 187 for 8 by Mumbai Indians.</p>

<p>What hurt them more was AB de Villiers, who nearly took his team to victory with an unbeaten 70 off 41 balls would have faced the free-hit. Both umpires C Nandan and ICC Elite Panel's S Ravi bungled completely leaving Virat Kohli seething in anger.</p>

<p>But nothing can be taken away from fit-again Bumrah's mastery at the death as he singlehandedly won it for Mumbai with superb 17th and 19th overs.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During chase, Kohli signalled his intentions at the beginning itself hitting Jasprit Bumrah for three consecutive boundaries in one over. Hardik Pandya was slashed through the point and cover driven for successive boundaries.</p>

<p>Mayank Markande, who dismissed Parthiv Patel (31 off 22 balls) with a googly was hit for a straight boundary by Kohli. On the day, Kohli became the second man after Suresh Raina to complete 5000 runs in Indian Premier League.&nbsp;</p>

<p>De Villiers, who got a reprieve when Yuvraj Singh failed to anticipate a sharp chance in the slip cordon, got his act together and dispatched Markande into the stands. De Villiers then got his second six off Lasith Malinga to finally get into the groove.</p>

<p>With the partnership one short of 50-run mark, Bumrah came back for his second spell and bowled a sharp bouncer and the Bangalore skipper couldn't maintain his balance trying to execute a pull-shot as Hardik Pandya completed the formalities.</p>

<p>However, De Villiers, who was set by then was in a mood to take Malinga to the cleaners. A shadow of his old self, Malinga was missing length most of the times and two huge sixes in the 16th over of the Lankan slinger saw De Villiers get the equation down to 41 off 24 balls.</p>

<p>But Bumrah kept Mumbai in the match giving away only one run in the 17th over as 40 was required off the last three overs.</p>

An umpiring howler off the last deliver cost Bangalore dearly as Mumbai pipped the hosts by six runs largely due to Jasprit Bumrah's brilliant spell at the death in an IPL encounter on Thursday. Needing six to take the game into Super Over, Lasith Malinga's final delivery to Shivam Dube was a no-ball that was missed by the on-field umpires as Bangalore managed 181 for 5 in reply to 187 for 8 by Mumbai Indians. What hurt them more was AB de Villiers, who nearly took his team to victory with an unbeaten 70 off 41 balls would have faced the free-hit. Both umpires C Nandan and ICC Elite Panel's S Ravi bungled completely leaving Virat Kohli seething in anger. But nothing can be taken away from fit-again Bumrah's mastery at the death as he singlehandedly won it for Mumbai with superb 17th and 19th overs. During chase, Kohli signalled his intentions at the beginning itself hitting Jasprit Bumrah for three consecutive boundaries in one over. Hardik Pandya was slashed through the point and cover driven for successive boundaries. Mayank Markande, who dismissed Parthiv Patel (31 off 22 balls) with a googly was hit for a straight boundary by Kohli. On the day, Kohli became the second man after Suresh Raina to complete 5000 runs in Indian Premier League. De Villiers, who got a reprieve when Yuvraj Singh failed to anticipate a sharp chance in the slip cordon, got his act together and dispatched Markande into the stands. De Villiers then got his second six off Lasith Malinga to finally get into the groove. With the partnership one short of 50-run mark, Bumrah came back for his second spell and bowled a sharp bouncer and the Bangalore skipper couldn't maintain his balance trying to execute a pull-shot as Hardik Pandya completed the formalities. However, De Villiers, who was set by then was in a mood to take Malinga to the cleaners. A shadow of his old self, Malinga was missing length most of the times and two huge sixes in the 16th over of the Lankan slinger saw De Villiers get the equation down to 41 off 24 balls. But Bumrah kept Mumbai in the match giving away only one run in the 17th over as 40 was required off the last three overs. Put into bat, Hardik muscled a couple into the stands and one out of sight to help Mumbai Indians recover from a middle-order collapse and post a decent 187 for 8. Pandya hit three sixes and two fours in his unbeaten 32 off 14 balls after Yuzvendra Chahal (4/38 in 4 overs) reduced Mumbai from a comfortable 124 for 2 to 147 for 7. Delhi also boasts of Prithvi Shaw, Manjot Karla and experienced campaigners like Colin Munro and Chris Morris, who can give stability to the team. With the likes of Trent Boult, Ishant Sharma, Kagiso Rabada and Nathu Singh on board, Delhi's bowling attack looks a potent force. The problem might occur with the middle-order batting as Delhi lack batsmen in the depth. Probable playing XI: Mumbai: Rohit Sharma (c), Quinton de Kock, Ishan Kishan (wk), Suryakumar, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Ben Cutting, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mayank Markande, Jasprit Bumrah. Delhi: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer (c), Colin Ingram, Rishabh Pant(wk), Axar Patel, Rahul Tewatia, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult, Sandeep Lamichhane, Ishant Sharma.

IPL 2019: Three-time IPL champions Mumbai to host Delhi at Wankhede Stadium

<p>Sri Lanka's veteran cricketer Lasith Malinga, who plays for Mumbai in the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/ipl-2019">Indian Premier League</a>, will at least miss the first six matches of the IPL which is scheduled to begin from March 23.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Malinga was bought by Mumbai for Rs 2 crore, a team that will start their IPL campaign against Delhi at Wankhede Stadium on March 24.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I had asked the board for the No-Objection Certificate for me to play in the IPL, and they had said that was fine, but that all players who want to go to the World Cup would need to stay back for the provincial tournament," Malinga told ESPNcricinfo.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Malinga has made himself unavailable for the team's first six matches as he will be participating in Sri Lanka's Super Provincial One-Day domestic tournament, slated from April 4 to April 11, in a bid to make it to the World cup team.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"So I told them I'd play in the provincial tournament, and I asked the board to inform Mumbai Indians and IPL, since it was their decision. I'm ok with losing those earnings from IPL. I'm doing it for the country," said Malinga.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Malinga, who had worked as a bowling mentor for Mumbai Indians last year, suggested that his franchise should replace him with someone else.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Once I become available for Mumbai Indians, I would have missed seven or eight games," he said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"So there's probably no point in them waiting around for me. Better for them to find someone else to replace me with."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Malinga is currently the ODI skipper and it is highly likely that he would be picked in Sri Lanka's World Cup squad given that he has again emerged as the team's best ODI bowler over the past six months.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If he makes the cut, Malinga will need to attend training camps through May, missing the IPL.&nbsp;</p>
