<p>Filmmaker Karan Johar wrote an emotional post on Instagram on Wednesday as he shared the first look of his dream-project 'Kalank'.&nbsp;The filmmaker who is the producer of the film, went onto share that how much the film, that was conceptualised 15 years ago and one on which even his late father Yash Johar worked on, meant to him.<br />

Taking to his Instagram account, KJo shared a sneak peek from the world of ‘Kalank’. He also asked the fans to `stay tuned for more` on Thursday.The photo features a man and woman in a boat, surrounded by flowers in a lake. The woman is dressed in an all white outfit while the man rows her boat. However, the picture doesn’t reveal the face of the duo.</p>

<p>“A film that was born in my heart and mind 15 years ago....a film I passionately believe in...the last film my father worked on before he left us....it was his dream to see this film come through....I couldn’t fulfil his dream then....my spirit was broken....but today his wish has found a relationship with celluloid....the story of turbulent relationships and eternal love has found a voice....the film has been woven,nurtured and visualised by ABHISHEK VARMAN....and the film Is KALANK! <p>In June this year, BJP chief Amit Shah had met the actor at her residence in Mumbai during his party's 'Sampark for Samarthan' (Contact for Support) programme and briefed her on the achievements of the Narendra Modi government.</p>

<p>A senior state BJP leader told PTI Thursday that her name has been shortlisted for the Pune Lok Sabha seat.</p>

<p>"The party is seriously considering giving candidature to Madhuri Dixit in the 2019 general elections. We think the Pune Lok Sabha constituency will be better for her," he said.</p>

<p>"The party is in the process of finalising the list of probables for several Lok Sabha seats and Dixit's name has been shortlisted for the Pune Lok Sabha constituency...She is being seriously considered for it," the leader said.</p>

<p>The 51-year-old actor has featured in many Bollywood films, including "Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!", "Dil To Pagal Hai", "Saajan" and "Devdas".</p>

<p>In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had snatched the Pune Lok Sabha seat from the Congress, with Anil Shirole winning by a margin of over three lakh votes.</p>

<p>On the plans to field the actor, a senior BJP functionary said, "Such tactics were implemented by Narendra Modi in Gujarat when he became the chief minister for the first time. He changed all the candidates in local bodies election and the party reaped benefits of that decision."</p>

<p>"As fresh faces were introduced, there was nothing to criticise them with. It left the opposition shocked and the BJP won maximum seats and retained power," he said.</p>

On Sunday night Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor interacted and posed for photos with stars Christian Bale and Frieda Pinto- who feature in the Hollywood version of the film at the premiere of the film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Pinto, who plays the part of Messua- Mowgli`s human mother- said that during the South Africa leg of their shoot, Andy had told her to play her part in Hindi too."So for me to go to South Africa and actually work with fellow actors all speaking in Hindi, and all the other things I associate with India came to life with this movie," she further said, while describing her journey with the movie.</p>

<p>Walking down the memory lane, Pinto recalled how one would watch `The Jungle Book` in Hindi every Sunday when it aired on Doordarshan. "There was so much of human life in the village that was captured in that version, and I have not seen that version anywhere else," she added. John's 'Parmanu' beats Madhuri's 'Bucket List' on day 1

<p>Madhuri Dixit Nene believes with cinema not being the only source of entertainment in today's digital world, it has become tougher for the young generation of actors to establish themselves.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Madhuri, who has been one of the most popular female actors in Hindi film industry, said audiences have lots of distraction&nbsp;now.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Today, there is so much distraction for people, like Netflix, etc... There is so much clutter. So, to make a place for yourself is difficult," Madhuri told PTI.</p>

<p>"Earlier, only movies were the mode of entertainment, but today there are a lot of other things as well, so to make your own image is all the more difficult," she added.</p>

<p>The 51-year-old actor was last seen on-screen in 2014 in two films- 'Dedh Ishqiya'&nbsp;and 'Gulaab Gang'. She is now back with a Marathi film titled 'Bucket List'.</p>

<p>Madhuri will also be seen in 'Total Dhamaal'&nbsp;alongside Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn and with Sanjay Dutt in Karan Johar production 'Kalank'.</p>

<p>"'Bucket List' is a simple story of an ordinary housewife. We have not added any extra element. We have not compromised. 'Total Dhammal' is full on comedy, there is madness in the film. 'Kalank' is a classic film. I am excited about all the film," she said.</p>

<p>Apart from her movie projects, Madhuri is back on the small screen as a judge on dance reality show 'Dance Deewane'.</p>

<p>"I don't think I would like to try any reality show other than dance. As I feel dance is close to me, it is synonymous with me. I enjoy it. I enjoy watching people dance," she says.</p>

<p>"This show ('Dance Deewane') is super fun as it has three generations of people dancing on stage - son, father, and grandfather can also dance. This show has no age limit, we just want to see their Deewangi and how they dance," she added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On the debate over kids participating in reality shows and their alleged exploitation, Madhuri said, "There are two ways of looking at it, one is this (exploitation) and the other is that there is so much talent in them and they are getting an opportunity to present it, so you can look at it both ways."</p>

<p>Director Shashank Khaitan and choreographer Tushar Kalia are also serving as judges on the show that will be aired on Colors channel from June 2.</p>

A video that was shared by Dharma Productions and Karan Johar (co-producers of Bucket List) shows Madhuri and Renuka dancing to 'Lo Chali Main'- a song from 'Hum Aapke Hai Koun' which featured the two actresses as sisters. The original song also featured Salman Khan along with the two actresses.&nbsp;</p>

<p>More than two decades later, the two actresses are uniting on screen for Madhuri's debut Marathi film 'Bucket List' which is slated to release this Friday.&nbsp;</p>

A video that was shared by Dharma Productions and Karan Johar (co-producers of Bucket List) shows Madhuri and Renuka dancing to 'Lo Chali Main'- a song from 'Hum Aapke Hai Koun' which featured the two actresses as sisters. The original song also featured Salman Khan along with the two actresses. More than two decades later, the two actresses are uniting on screen for Madhuri's debut Marathi film 'Bucket List' which is slated to release this Friday. <p>We <a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/entertainment-karan-johar-announces-fathers-dream-project-sanjay-dutt-and-madhuri-dixit-to-work-together-after-25-years-131103">announced</a> yesterday that Karan Johar revealed the star cast of Abhishek Varman’s next film titled <em>Kalank</em> which incidentally is Karan’s late father, Yash Johar’s dream project based in the 1940s.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Today, Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar along with Varun Dhawan’s father David Dhawan kickstarted the film’s shoot with a mini get-together of-sorts. Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur were seen present with the makers.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan posted an Instagram story in which he wrote: “Day 1, Kalank” indicating that he is going to the shoot location.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The movie in all stars the likes of Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film will be directed by Abhishek Varman who also made <em>2 States </em>starring Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.&nbsp;The film will be jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala who said, “April 18, 2014, was when ‘2 States’ had released, and now on April 18, 2018, ‘Kalank’ begins its journey. This multi-starrer has a story that will cross all borders and will be historic in the true sense of the word. I am genuinely happy to be back with the team, as this film is special to all of us.”&nbsp;</p>

Karan Johar's 'Kalank' goes on floors: Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur spotted!

<p>Karan Johar was finally&nbsp;able to pull off what many others have not been able to, in so many years -- bringing Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit together on-screen.</p>

<p>Karan Johar announced the star cast of Abhishek Varman’s next film titled "Kalank", that was incidentally his father, Yash Johar’s dream project. Set in the 1940s, the film has to have an old-world charm and will be an epic drama. The film was said to have been named "Shiddat"&nbsp;initially and had Sridevi but due to her untimely death, Madhuri was asked to step in. Karan later <a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/entertainment-as-madhuri-steps-in-for-sridevis-film-with-sanjay-dutt-karan-johar-clarifies-its-not-called-shiddat-36481">clarified</a> that the name is not "Shiddat"&nbsp;and that the final cast would be announced soon.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Describing the process of working on the film for his father as “an emotional journey”, Karan told a leading daily, “‘Kalank’ has been an emotional journey for me. A germ of an idea that I had nearly 15 years ago a film that was in pre-production stage helmed by my father. I am now proud to pass it on to the capable and visionary hands of our director, Abhishek. The film is a beautifully structured story by Shibani Bathija, and has an exceptionally fluid narrative and screenplay by Abhishek.”</p>

He had even visited Lahore to understand how the situation could have been in the ‘40s, but he couldn’t start the project. <p>Ranbir Kapoor is all set to make a cameo appearance in Madhuri Dixit's Marathi film <a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/entertainment-madhuri-dixit-all-set-to-make-her-debut-in-marathi-films-with-bucket-list-128145"><em>Bucket List</em></a>. Back in 2013, Madhuri Dixit had appeared in a special song in Ranbir Kapoor starrer <em>Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani</em>. The song '<em>Ghagra'&nbsp</em>had Ranbir and Madhuri dancing together. Now, Ranbir seems to be returning the favour as he has come on board for Madhuri's Marathi debut film.&nbsp<br />

Whether Ranbir will feature in a song or will have a few scenes in the film is not known yet. The film is being presented by Karan Johar who was incidentally, the producer of<em> Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.&nbsp</em></p>

<p>The film has Madhuri Dixit playing a middle-class housewife who is content with her life until one day something changes. <p>A decade passes by sometimes before you remember someone you loved from your past. They don&rsquo;t come to you because they aren&rsquo;t in the news anymore but mostly because you have outgrown them. Only to realise one fine morning that you never really did.</p>

<p>I woke up to seven messages telling me the legendary Indian actress Sridevi was no more. As comprehension came, so did the sadness, suddenly and plenty of it. Because I was in love with her for as long as I could remember.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sridevi came to my life by chance. As the younger of two girls growing up in Patel Nagar, New Delhi, much of our lazy afternoons were spent discussing who gets what. I know, silly game. My elder sister being stereotypical to her role, gave me Sridevi and chose Madhuri Dixit as her favourite actress - the rules of the game were such that after being assigned these favourites, we weren&rsquo;t allowed to change them. Ever. Or until we became adults and the silliness of the game struck us.&nbsp;</p>

<p>So I felt stuck with who my sister had chosen for me. By default, I wanted the other actress more. But Sridevi turned out to be everything my young personality wanted. She was full of spunk. She was gorgeous. Her voice was strangely enough not adult-like, something that added innocence to the characters she played. Her comic timing was out of the world. I was smitten before I knew it.</p>

<p>Chaalbaaz has been the all-time favourite. All thanks to her. The strange concoction of a tortured, timid soul and her hilarious beer guzzling, bully sister full of gumption enthralled me. I couldn&rsquo;t believe it was the same actor playing two women, so different and so endearing at the same time. It was very clear to my impressionable mind which twin I wanted to be like when I grew up.</p>

<p>Lamhe taught me the layers of love, unlike anything. I understood what the &lsquo;younger Sridevi&rsquo; felt for her Kunwar Sa and still believed wholeheartedly in what the same man had for the &lsquo;older Sridevi&rsquo; in the film. The complex affairs of their hearts lead to a turmoil in my young mind and heart too. That said, I don&rsquo;t know how many times Didi and I danced to &lsquo;Morni bagha ma bole&rsquo; for guests, parents and most importantly, for ourselves.</p>

<p>Sridevi was part of some of the most iconic films of our times. Sadma taught me to love, compassion and pain all at once. I watched it twenty times only because I wanted to watch Sridevi emote, the way only she can. Crying at the movies began there for me.</p>

<p>But the Yash Raj super hit Chandni eluded me till I turned twenty. Earlier, it seemed as a happy-go-lucky woman found love, found misfortune and found love again. A re-watching of the film made it clear what the story actually was. Of how women in our society are always at the mercy of what the society and the male ego dictates - the boyfriend&rsquo;s accident puts him in a depression strong enough to overlook the women&rsquo;s good work in helping him recover. He pushes her away but once he recovers completely, he decides he wants her back. I personally wanted Chandni to end up with Lalit, the way more nuanced and humane character played by Vinod Khanna in the film. Nonetheless, Sridevi was picture perfect for the role.</p>

<p>I don&rsquo;t know where to stop - Khuda Gawah was the desi version of Arabian Nights with the most badass princess Bollywood could have. And Mr India was everything a child could want from a fantasy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But I grew up, and the &#39;roop ki rani&#39; gently retired after her marriage to Boney Kapoor. A healthy dose of Ma&rsquo;s filmy magazines lying about in the house and immaturity meant I had strong opinions about the person behind the stardom and how she chose to live her life. Add to that a new breed of actresses and I was all set to forget my childhood crush.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But somewhere at the back of my mind, I always wanted to watch just one more film of hers. Soon Gumrah released; a splendid thriller where Sridevi showcased her most vulnerable side yet. A few years later, Judaai came - a ridiculous story about a wife marrying off her husband to another woman for money. The movie would be one of those I laugh about with friends if only it wasn&rsquo;t made so deliciously entertaining by Sridevi as the eccentric, gold-digging wife.</p>

<p>Life went on and suddenly people were discussing &lsquo;yesteryear star Sridevi&rsquo;s comeback film&rsquo;. English Vinglish reminded me just how much I loved this actor who ruled as the meek but gritty Shashi Godbole. Her prowess shone as a woman derided for not being smart or savvy enough, a tale too close to home for many Indian women.</p>

<p>Today, my childhood favourite is no more. A doting mother, Sridevi had been sharing her excitement for her daughter&rsquo;s movie debut next month on Instagram. But alas, she has left behind a loving family, a legacy of fabulous films in several languages and millions of heartbroken fans. Too soon it is.</p>

<p>Today, I thank the sweet twist of fate that handed over this fabulous actor and a superb role model to a five-year-old me in a childish game.&nbsp;</p>
