'Lord of the Rings' tv series is currently underway at Amazon and according to the cinematic Frodo Baggins, Elijah Wood, the title of the series is a 'bit bizarre'

The large scale production of the series was halted in 2020, due to the coronavirus. In an interview with the Empire Magazine Elijah Wood, who played protagonist Frodo, shared his thoughts.

"I find it very bizarre that they're calling it Lord of the Rings as a shorthand because it's not Lord of the Rings," he said, as reported by Fandom. "It takes place in the Second Age of Middle-earth."

Wood is referring to the fact that the show is reportedly set in Tolkien's Second Age, thousands of years before The Hobbit and LOTR. "Beginning in a time of relative peace," read an early synopsis, "the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth."

But the Lord of the Rings title is still not finalized. There's a probability that the working title could change given the magnanimous cultural stature of not just the book, but the Oscar-winning movie series.

J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, who just got off the writing from 'Godzilla vs. Kong', are currently developing the series. Amazon paid close to $250 million for the rights, making it one of the most expensive series from Amazon.

"We feel like Frodo, setting out from the Shire, with a great responsibility in our care -- it is the beginning of the adventure of a lifetime," Payne and McKay said in a statement. They also said we could expect to see familiar faces in the show.

Given the production delay, however, the show might not be made till late 2021 or 2022 at the earliest.

Donald Trump has been called by many to be someone with chronic case of denial. Even when US Election was called in favour of Joe Biden, Trump continued claiming that he was the winner. Now that he is gone, it's perhaps more than expected that Trump's supporters would whip something truly original to continue claiming that he is the real president of the US.

This has happened and fun fact is that the litigants have taken support from Lord Of The Rings (LOTR) to drive home their point.

So here's the deal, in LOTR, the Kingdom of Gondor had an empty throne, its king was exiled and the kingdom was ruled by a Steward, a temporary ruler. He was to rule till the rightful king returned.

So a lawsuit in Texas equates USA to Kingdom of Gondor. USA hasn't had a 'king' or anyone like that since 1776.

“This analogy is applicable since there is now in Washington DC a group of individuals calling themselves the president, vice-president and Congress who have no rightful claim to govern the American people,” the litigants state as per The Guardian.

“Since only the rightful king could sit on the throne of Gondor, a steward was appointed to manage Gondor until the return of the King, known as ‘Aragorn’, occurred at the end of the story.” they add.

Aragorn is the rightful king in LOTR. The character was played by Viggo Mortensen.

As it is apparent, President Joe Biden is like the Steward of Gondor, fit to rule only for a short time till the 'rightful king' (read Donald Trump) returns.

The litigants probably need a standing ovation for their courage for two thing

1. Continuing their journey through wonderland to still strongly believe that the election was rigged. This when even US Supreme Court trashed previous such litigation

2. Taking help of a fantasy kingdom to prove their point. Imagine the plight of their lawyer while arguing the case in a courtroom which only has place for cold hard facts and logic.

Aftereffects of four years of Trump-rule? Who knows.

'The Lord Of The Rings' TV series allowed to begin filming in New Zealand

Two hikers who got lost in an area of New Zealand wilderness have been found with only minor injuries 18 days after they set out.

Jessica O'Connor and Dion Reynolds planned to go for about five days when they went into Kahurangi National Park on the South Island on May 9 -- for filming The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

At more than 1.1 million acres, Kahurangi is New Zealand's second-largest national park.

The two lost their way and ran out of food a couple of days later.

They were reported missing by a friend on 18 May, after which a team of 50 people was brought it. The team included give tracking experts, three dog teams and two helicopter crews.

The pair chose to stay in one place and were eventually rescued by a military helicopter after crews spotted smoke from a fire they had lit.

The helicopter took them to Nelson Airport where medics found they had suffered only minor injuries, St John Ambulance spokeswoman Ngaire Jones said. They were then taken to Nelson Hospital.

'Game of Thrones' actors cast in Amazon's 'Lord of the Rings' TV series

Actor Viggo Mortensen has rebuked Spain's far-right party Vox for featuring in a political tweet the sword-wielding hero Aragorn whom he plays in 'The Lord of the Rings'.

On the day of Spain's recent election, Vox posted an image of Aragorn, with the Spanish flag and party emblem on his back, charging against an enemy army under banners of left-wing, feminist, LGBT, liberal media and Spanish separatist groups.

"Let the battle begin!" #For Spain", it said.

"You'd have to be pretty ignorant to think that using the character ... to promote the campaign of a xenophobic, ultra-right party like Vox would be a good idea," Mortensen wrote in a letter to Spanish newspaper El Pais published on Tuesday.

"I would laugh at their ineptitude but Vox has won 24 seats in Congress; it's no joke," the 60-year-old Danish-American actor, a fluent Spanish speaker with a home in Madrid, wrote from Los Angeles.

In the April 28 general election, Vox became the first far-right party to secure a significant presence in parliament since dictator Francisco Franco died in 1975.

Warner Bros Spain, which has distribution rights, also responded, saying it did not authorize the use of its copyrighted property in any campaigns.

Mortensen said Vox's message was absurd because in the books Aragorn is "a multilingual statesman who advocates the knowledge and inclusion of the various races, customs and languages of Middle Earth" and should not be associated with the far right.

'The Lord of the Rings' book by British author JRR Tolkien is an epic tale of a clash between good and evil in a world inhabited by elves, dwarves, orcs and humans.

The film adaptations, including 'The Hobbit' prequels, have grossed around $5.8 billion at box offices worldwide.

'Lord of the Rings' actor up in arms over Spanish far-right ad

JRR Tolkien's fantastical world of hobbits, elves and orcs have won over fans around the world in the decades since 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings' stories were published.

Now the British novelist himself is the subject of a film that looks at his early years and inspirations for his works.

'X-Men' and 'The Favourite' actor Nicholas Hoult plays the title role in 'Tolkien', which follows the author as an orphan, his friendships at school in Birmingham, studies at Oxford University and on the frontline at the Battle of the Somme during World War One.

"We wanted to honour him and tell our story that we thought was fascinating about his formative years that everyone, I feel as a fan...would be intrigued by," Hoult told Reuters.

'Mirror Mirror' actress Lily Collins plays Edith Bratt, whom Tolkien met when he moved into a boarding house and who would later become his wife and inspire elf Luthien in his fictional Middle-earth world.

"We show her dancing in the forest and...her cheekiness and her love of storytelling and the way that she just would inspire him to continue telling stories," Collins said.

Tolkien, who was a professor of Anglo-Saxon at Oxford, published 'The Hobbit' in 1937. 'The Lord of the Rings' came in three parts between 1954 and 1955.

More than 150 million copies of 'The Lord of the Rings' have been sold worldwide. The film adaptations and those for 'The Hobbit' trilogy have grossed around $5.8 billion at global box offices.

Tolkien died in 1973, aged 81, two years after Bratt.

His family and estate have distanced themselves from the movie, saying in a statement last week "they did not approve of, authorize or participate in the making of this film. They do not endorse it or its content in any way."

Studio Fox Searchlight Pictures said it was "proud" of the biopic and "the filmmaking team has the utmost respect and admiration for Mr. Tolkien and his phenomenal contribution to literature".

Director Dome Karukoski said he hoped Tolkien's family would see the movie.

"I've actually offered...to watch it with them so they would see it and it's done with the respect, admiration as from a fan," he said.

'Tolkien' begins its cinema roll-out from May 3.

"I've actually offered...to watch it with them so they would see it and it's done with the respect, admiration as from a fan," he said. 'Tolkien' begins its cinema roll-out from May 3.

'Tolkien' looks at early years of 'Lord of the Rings' writer

This might not be the first time we will get to see a film on legendary band Beatles that belted out some great music for generations to sing but there are claims that we will get to see them in a very different light after this releases.

Announced on Wednesday, ‘Lord of the Rings’ director Peter Jackson said that he will make a new film on the band using some 55 hours of footage that was shot in January 1969 and is apparently never-seen-before by the public.

Calling it their farewell documentary titled ‘Let It Be’, the film follows the original movie with the same name, directed by Michael Lindsay- Hogg. The 1970 film came out right after the band broke up and has been long viewed as a chronicle of the band members growing apart.

Peter calls the footage an “amazing historical treasure-trove," and added,"sure, there's moments of drama - but none of the discord this project has long been associated with."

Peter will make another turn to documentaries after his recent ‘They Shall Not Grow Old’, a film on World War I that is brought to life with restored heavily-damaged, grainy footage. Peter transferred all this into 3D and even used expert lip readers to restore lost dialogue.

He is working on ‘Let It Be’ with the cooperation of McCartney, Ringo Starr, and Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison, the widows of John Lennon and George Harrison. The new project was announced on the 50th anniversary of one of the highlights of ‘Let It Be,’ the Beatles' spirited performance on the roof of Apple Records in London.

No release date has been set as of yet for the film.

‘Lord of the Rings’ director announces film on Beatles with never-seen-before footage

Harvey Weinstein on Friday denied barring actresses Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino from working on the movie adaptation of "The Lord of the Rings" or blacklisting them from further projects.

Weinstein, who has been accused of sexual harassment by more than 50 women, including Judd and Sorvino, was responding to remarks by "Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson.

Reuters is unable to independently confirm the misconduct allegations and Weinstein has denied having non-consensual sex with anyone.

In an interview with New Zealand website Stuff on Thursday, Jackson said he expressed interest in casting Judd and Sorvino in the movie while pitching the project to Weinstein's production company Miramax.

"I recall Miramax telling us they were a nightmare to work with and we should avoid them at all costs. This was probably in 1998," Jackson said.

"At the time, we had no reason to question what these guys were telling us... I now suspect we were fed false information about both of these talented women - and as a direct result their names were removed from our casting list," he added.

The "Lord of the Rings" movie trilogy later went to New Line Cinema and released in 2001.

Weinstein's spokeswoman Holly Baird said in a statement that Harvey and his bother Bob "had no input into the casting whatsoever" on "Lord of the Rings."

The statement said that Judd was subsequently cast by Weinstein in two other movies - "Frida" and "Crossing Over."

It added that Sorvino called Weinstein earlier this year to ask if her husband, actor Christopher Backus, could be cast in the TV series "Six" that he was producing "and Mr. Weinstein cast him."

Judd, responding on Twitter on Friday, recalled having detailed talks with Jackson about "Lord of the Rings" but "then I abruptly never heard from him again."

Sorvino said on Twitter that she "burst out crying" when she read Jackson's remarks, calling them "confirmation that Harvey Weinstein derailed my career, something I suspected but was unsure."

Representatives for the two actresses did not respond on Friday to a request for further comment.
