When the citizens were asked if the current foreign secretary was competent, the fall was largely comparable.

According to YouGov, only 12 per cent of Britons believe that Truss would be a great leader, while 52 per cent think she’ll be a terrible leader.

Another poll conducted by Opinium for Sunday’s Observer stated that 31 per cent of Conservative voters in the landslide election of Conservative voters in the victory election of 2019 thought Truss looked like "a prime minister in waiting" towards the end of August, down from 49 per cent at the beginning of the month, Bloomberg reported.

The surveys demonstrated how detrimental the leadership contests have been for Truss, her opponent, Rishi Sunak, and the ruling Conservative Party.

Truss’s campaign rhetoric had largely centred on reducing taxes and denouncing the idea of government handouts, chosen to appeal to roughly 160,000 party members who have been supporting Johnson’s removal.

YouGov also conducted a survey to know what people perceive Johnson as a leader. The survey revealed that&nbsp;only 22 per cent of Britons think he left a positive legacy, while 55 per cent think he was a poor leader.

The government still hasn’t found a solution to the worst cost-of-living crisis in decades, with inflation rising and the nation sliding into recession. For this, the results&nbsp;will be announced on Monday (September 5).

Truss envisioned the legislation for single-sex venues such as domestic violence shelters. Truss stated that she will vehemently oppose the left's identity politics. She emphasised the urgent need for the nation to thrive. "My first priority is reducing taxes because what I don’t believe is taking money in taxes and giving it back to people in benefits," Truss said, ANI reported.

The inflammatory statements made by Truss are an echo of the contentious claims made in "Britannia Unchained," a book she co-authored in 2012 and in which British employees were referred to as some of the "worst idlers in the world."

When questioned about the book at a leadership contest last month, Truss had claimed that co-author and supporter of Sunak Dominic Raab, who is presently the justice minister, had written the controversial arguments.

The insider continued, "As prime minister,&nbsp;&nbsp;Liz will deliver an economy that is high wage, high growth and low tax."

In a conversation with a political analyst during the fringe event, Sturgeon said that when she told Truss that she’s been featured in Vogue twice, Truss looked as if she ‘swallowed a wasp.’ The minister said that she still remembers the instance because first, they met at the largest climate change conference and secondly because Truss was mostly interested in the Vogue.

The race for the Tory Leadership continues to heat up. Rishi Sunak has faced a bit of of a setback as severe criticism for his past comments on urban area funding policy have been put forth.

Sunak, who is lagging behind Foreign Minister Liz Truss, visited Tunbridge Wells, a relatively affluent area in southeast England on July 29. A video of him published by the New Statesman magazine, shows him saying "I managed to start changing the funding formulas to make sure that areas like this are getting the funding that they deserve because we inherited a bunch of formulas from the Labour Party that shoved all the funding into deprived urban areas ... that needed to be undone. I started the work of undoing that." × Pointing to his efforts and reforms to ensure rural areas received funding alongside urban centres, a source in Sunak's campaign told news agency Reuters "Levelling up isn't just about city centres, it's also about towns and rural areas all over the country that need help too." After an electronic voting system broke down, the audience at the Sky News debate overwhelmingly supported Sunak in a show of hands. Listing policy U-turns made by Truss, presenter Kay Burley challenged Truss on her comments soon after Russia's invasion of Ukraine that she would back Brits going to fight on the Ukrainian side. Facing a potential death penalty in the Donetsk separatist region, British fighters have since been captured and convicted as mercenaries. Following Boris Johnson's resignation due to a series of scandals and missteps, the ruling Conservative Party is choosing a new leader between Truss and Sunak and the result is due on September 5.
