In a shocking development, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was set on fire in the north-Indian state of Haryana after being tied up, the police said on Monday (Jan 29).

According to local media reports, the deceased gangster, identified as Rajan, was involved in several gang fights.

The deceased Rajan's hands and legs were tied before he was set on fire in Haryana's Yamunanagar district near a riverside.

Lawrence Bishnoi gang's rival Davinder Bambiha claimed responsibility for Rajan's killing via a social media post and named the person who he claimed carried out the task.

The police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and said that the officials had initiated an inquiry into the matter.

The deceased's half-burnt body was identified by his relative who stated that he had cut off ties long back with his family members.

Rajan, who was a resident of Ladwa, is survived by his wife and a child but he had been living away from his family for over a year, informed his relative.

Police said that the reason behind Rajan's murder is not yet known.

It is pertinent to note that the Bishnoi gang was behind the killing of famous Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in May 2022.

Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar took responsibility for the murder of Moosewala.

Brar is a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi.

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan police arrested seven members of the Lawrence Bishnoi and Rohit Godara gangs from different locations of Phalodi district, police said on Saturday (Jan 27).

The police raided 13 different locations in several areas including Lohawat, Bhojasar and Matora, early on Friday morning, said Phalodi SP Hanuman Prasad.

"We succeeded in arresting 7 members associated with the gangs of Bishnoi and Godara in raids at 13 spots on Friday early morning after a verification of the intelligence inputs," said Prasad.

He further added that the police had also seized two vehicles from the&nbsp;arrested.

The vehicles did not have registration plates.

"Some from the list were not found at the given addresses. We have been constantly keeping ourselves alert about their whereabouts and will arrest them as well as soon as we receive any tip-off," the SP said.

The&nbsp;investigation further reveals that the money amassed by gangsters through extortion, smuggling and other illegal activities has also been funnelled to clubs and bars in Thailand as investment, accentuating the global scale of these financial activities, said a report&nbsp;in the Hindustan Times.

The NIA's probe has exposed a series of financial transactions spanning from 2019 to 2021, where amounts ranging from ₹5 lakh ($6.5K) to ₹60 lakh ($72.2K)&nbsp;were sent by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi to Canada and Thailand through the hawala route.

Bishnoi, working closely with Khalistani groups in Canada, particularly with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) leader Lakhbir Singh Landa, was a key figure in this illicit operation.

According to the NIA's charge sheet, money collected through extortion, illegal liquor, arms smuggling, and other illicit activities was transferred to Canada, specifically to one Satbir Singh alias Sam, for further investment and to fund radical activities of pro-Khalistan elements (PKEs).

The charge sheet identifies Sam as the pointsperson for managing illegal funds in Canada, mentioning investments in yachts, film financing, and the organisation of the Canadian Premier League. Bishnoi, currently incarcerated, confessed to receiving funds from Sam on multiple occasions.

The NIA's revelations include transactions such as ₹2 lakh ($2.4K) sent monthly to Goldy Brar in 2021, two payments of ₹20 lakh ($25K) each to Brar in 2020, ₹50 lakh ($60K)&nbsp;given to Sam in 2020, and a total of ₹60 lakh ($72K) distributed to both Brar and Sam in 2021. While the agency has yet to provide detailed information on the nature of these investments in Canada, it is clear that substantial amounts were involved.

The probe also uncovered that funds collected by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were funnelled to Manish Bhandari in Thailand through hawala. Bhandari is&nbsp;a Delhi resident, who is based in Thailand where he&nbsp;owns clubs in Bangkok and Pattaya. 
 
Bhandari, reportedly, invested these funds in nightclubs and bars. Additionally, when members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang traveled to Thailand, Bhandari provided them accommodation and logistical support.

Highlighting the collaboration between Bishnoi's gang and pro-Khalistan elements (PKEs), the NIA charge sheet reveals that Pakistan-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) leaders sought experienced shooters in India.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, with its extensive presence across multiple Indian states and Union territories, filled this void, offering an array of illegal services. For Indian gangs, partnering with PKEs and terror groups offers access to advanced weaponry, money laundering opportunities, and the means to relocate members abroad through the PKE network.

From extortion, arms smuggling to buying fancy yachts, this is how Khalistanis invested funds and flourished

Canada-based notorious gangster Goldy Brar has been named in the list of the top 25 most-wanted fugitives in the country. Brar, believed to be one of the main conspirators of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's murder has been added to the list by&nbsp;Interpol-Ottawa's&nbsp;Fugitive Apprehension Support Team.

"Brar is accused of orchestrating the murders of Rajat Kumar, Gurlal Singh, and is also suspected of ordering the murder of Indian singer, songwriter Shubhdeep Singh aka Sidhu Moose Wala" read the official release.&nbsp;

"Brar is believed to be in Canada and represents a risk to public safety. He is currently under investigation but is not charged with any criminal offences in Canada," it added.&nbsp;

Brar is wanted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for murder, according to the ‘Bolo (Be On the Lookout) Programme’ list issued. The programme aims to amplify police fugitive cases to increase public awareness. Consequently, Brar's life-sized cutout mong the other fugitives has been displayed at Toronto's Yonge-Dundas Square.&nbsp;

The 29-year-old gangster managed to reach Canada on a student visa in 2017 but remained in contact with the Bishnoi Lawrence gang. According to Indian police, Brar is&nbsp;a close accomplice of Lawrence Bisnoi, the chief suspect in the murder of the Punjabi rapper.&nbsp;

Despite being in police&nbsp;custody since 2015, Bishnoi has been operating his terror-crime Syndicate from prisons in different states. Recently, Bishnoi issued death threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan.&nbsp;

<h2>Brar detained in the US?</h2>

In December last year, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann claimed that Brar had been arrested in the US. However, since then, there has been no official word from either the government of India or the state police in Brar's alleged detention/arrest.&nbsp;

“Although much information is not available regarding what led the chief minister to make that announcement with so much authority, it seems that at that time, the Government of India had been approached by the American authorities seeking additional information on Goldy Brar. That move was probably interpreted by the Indian authorities as Brar either having been detained or kept under surveillance in the US," a senior Punjab police officer was quoted as saying by The Print.&nbsp;

"Brar is believed to be in Canada and represents a risk to public safety. He is currently under investigation but is not charged with any criminal offences in Canada," it added. Brar is wanted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for murder, according to the ‘Bolo (Be On the Lookout) Programme’ list issued. The programme aims to amplify police fugitive cases to increase public awareness. Consequently, Brar's life-sized cutout mong the other fugitives has been displayed at Toronto's Yonge-Dundas Square. The 29-year-old gangster managed to reach Canada on a student visa in 2017 but remained in contact with the Bishnoi Lawrence gang. According to Indian police, Brar is a close accomplice of Lawrence Bisnoi, the chief suspect in the murder of the Punjabi rapper. Despite being in police custody since 2015, Bishnoi has been operating his terror-crime Syndicate from prisons in different states. Lawrence attended Abohar School until the 12th grade when he transferred to DAV College in Chandigarh. In 2011, he joined the Panjab University Campus Students Council, where he met another gangster, Goldy Brar (real name Satinder Singh). They got involved in university politics and then started committing crimes. He earned his LLB at Panjab University.

Bishnoi idolises Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Guru Jambheshwar, and Lord Hanuman. During court appearances, he is frequently seen wearing a T-shirt with a photo of Bhagat Singh. In an interview with ABP News, he stated that he is completely opposed to the Khalistan movement and does not support any anti-national activity.

In an interview with ABP news, Lawrence Bishnoi said that Salman humiliated his community by killing a blackbuck. Lawrence said, "There is anger in our society for Salman Khan. He also added, "There is anger in my mind for him since childhood. Will break his ego sooner or later. He should come to our deity's temple and apologise. If our society forgives, then I will not say anything."

Salman was granted a firearm licence for self-defense by the Mumbai Police in August last year. Following the threats, the Maharashtra government reportedly granted Salman Y+ security clearance in November last year. It means he will always be accompanied by four armed security personnel.

Bishnoi is currently lodged in Bathinda jail. He returned to Punjab a few days ago from Rajasthan where he was taken for questioning last month in connection with a firing and extortion case registered in January. However, the location of Bishnoi while appearing in the interview in a yellow T-shirt was not clear. Soon after the interview was aired, the Punjab government issued a press release, categorically stating that the video was not from either Bathinda jail or from any other jail in Punjab

Who is Lawrence Bishnoi? Gangster who threatened Salman Khan- how is he connected to Sidhu Moose Wala case?

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested six people, including members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, in nationwide raids. These arrests come during NIA raids at 76 locations across eight states to bust the known terrorist-gangster-drug smuggler nexus.

The six people arrested by the NIA include Lucky Khokhar aka Denis, who is a close associate of Canada-based 'designated terrorist', Arshdeep Singh aka Arsh Dalla. Others arrested in the raids, which were carried out in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, NCR, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, include associates of gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Goldy Brar. 
 
Khokhar, a resident of Bhatinda, Punjab, who was nabbed from Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, on Tuesday, was in direct and frequent contact with Arsh Dalla in Canada and had carried out recruitment for him and received funds from him for carrying out terror-related activities. He had provided arms and ammunition to Arsh Dalla's associates in Punjab on his directions, which were also used for carrying out the recent killing in Jagraon, Punjab on Dalla's directions.

NIA had registered a suo-moto case on August 20 last year against seven people, including Harwinder Singh aka Rinda, Lakhbir Singh Sandhu aka Landa, and Arshdeep Singh aka Arsh Dalla. One person, Deepak Ranga, was earlier arrested in the case by the NIA.

According to an NIA spokesperson, Khokhar was working for Dalla, who has been involved in smuggling arms, ammunition, explosives, IEDs etc. across international and inter-state borders in India for several Khalistani terror outfits, including the Khalistan Liberation Force, Babbar Khalsa International and International Sikh Youth Federation. 
 
Besides Khokhar, the NIA also arrested Lakhvir Singh, a resident of Gidderbaha, Muktsar, Punjab; Harpreet, a resident of Nihal Singh Wala, Moga, Punjab; Dalip Bishnoi, a resident of Bishanpura Abohar, Dist Fazilka, Punjab; Surinder aka Chiku&nbsp;Chaudhary, a resident of Mahendragarh, Haryana and Hari Om aka Titu, a resident of Gurugram, Haryana. 
 
While Hari Om aka Titu was arrested on Tuesday, Lakhvir Singh was nabbed a day later on Wednesday in connection with a case registered against them and their associates in August last year for allegedly attempting to motivate and recruit youth for terror activities by using social media.

They were also using social media to 'publicise' their crimes in a bid to create fear among the general public. Nine weapons were recovered from Lakhvir's possession. He is a notorious criminal and an associate of Chhotu Ram Bhaat, who was arrested earlier. The NIA has so far arrested nine accused, including Kaushal Choudhary, Amit Dagar, Sukhpreet Singh, Bhupi Rana, Neeraj Bawana, Naveen Bali and Sunil Balyan, in this case. 
 
According to the spokesperson, Surender Chaudhary and Dalip Bishnoi&nbsp;are known associates of gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Canada-based criminal, Goldy Brar.

They were arrested for raising funds, recruiting youth and carrying out terrorist acts on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. This case was also registered by the NIA in August last year and 10 accused, including Lawrence Bishnoi, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, Kala Jatheri, Kala Rana, Joginder Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Raju Basoudi, Anil Chippi, Naresh Yadav, and Shahbaz Ansari have been arrested.

The spokesperson said Surinder Chaudhry&nbsp;was arrested on Tuesday for attempts to murder and extortion and also faces several cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) Act. He has been involved in illegal liquor contracts, smuggling and extortion from liquor and mining contractors in Haryana and has been one of the main financers of terror-gangster syndicates.

Dalip Bishnoi, who was arrested on Wednesday, is a habitual criminal having 13 cases against him. He has been one of the main financers of this terror gang and was providing logistics support to the gangs in Punjab and Rajasthan.

The NIA investigations have also revealed that many criminals, who were leading gangsters in India, had fled to countries like Pakistan, Canada, Malaysia, Philippines and Australia and were planning their terror and criminal acts from there, in association with criminals lodged in jails in different states. These groups were carrying out targeted killings and raising funds for their nefarious activities through smuggling of drugs and weapons, hawala and extortion. Further investigations are on to dismantle such terror networks and their funding and support infrastructure.

They were arrested for raising funds, recruiting youth and carrying out terrorist acts on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. This case was also registered by the NIA in August last year and 10 accused, including Lawrence Bishnoi, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, Kala Jatheri, Kala Rana, Joginder Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Raju Basoudi, Anil Chippi, Naresh Yadav, and Shahbaz Ansari have been arrested. The spokesperson said Surinder Chaudhry was arrested on Tuesday for attempts to murder and extortion and also faces several cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) Act. He has been involved in illegal liquor contracts, smuggling and extortion from liquor and mining contractors in Haryana and has been one of the main financers of terror-gangster syndicates. Dalip Bishnoi, who was arrested on Wednesday, is a habitual criminal having 13 cases against him. He has been one of the main financers of this terror gang and was providing logistics support to the gangs in Punjab and Rajasthan. The NIA investigations have also revealed that many criminals, who were leading gangsters in India, had fled to countries like Pakistan, Canada, Malaysia, Philippines and Australia and were planning their terror and criminal acts from there, in association with criminals lodged in jails in different states. These groups were carrying out targeted killings and raising funds for their nefarious activities through smuggling of drugs and weapons, hawala and extortion. The Mumbai police have reportedly identified the persons involved in delivering a threat letter to actor Salman Khan. The letter was delivered to the actor's father, writer Salim Khan a few days ago.&nbsp; 
 
The information has been revealed during the interrogation of accused Siddhesh Hiraman Kamble alias Mahakal, who is a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. 
 
According to Mumbai police, accused Mahakal revealed that Bishnoi's aide Vikram Barad had taken the letter to Salim Khan. 
 
"Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had issued the letter to Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan. Three people from his gang had come from Jalore, Rajasthan to Mumbai to drop the letter and had met accused Saurabh Mahakal," said the police on Thursday. 
 
The police further said that the crime branch has identified the people who had delivered the letter.&nbsp;"There are clues related to them. They will be arrested soon. Right after their identification, 6 teams have been dispatched to different parts of India," said the police. 
 
The police asked Kamble about who kept the threatening letter on a bench in the Bandra area of Mumbai on Sunday, he said. Some media reports also claim that a member of the gang had once come close to the actor during his early morning cycle ride around the neighbourhood. Attempts were reportedly made to shoot the actor during his morning ride where he typically without any bodyguard.&nbsp; 
 
Meanwhile, some Delhi Police officials also reached Pune on Wednesday in connection with the probe into the case of the murder of popular Punjabi rapper and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala in Punjab last month.Delhi Police on Wednesday said that the mastermind behind the killing of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala is gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.&nbsp;
