Did Kangana Ranaut actually party with Abu Salem? Actress responds

<p>Kangana Ranaut has commented on Congress party leader Sam Pitroda's controversial statement on the looks of Indians. Pitroda&nbsp;comment that east Indians resembled the Chinese, while those from the South looked like Africans had raised a storm.<br />
<br />
Now, Ranaut, a BJP candidate from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, has commented on Pitroda's remarks and called him a 'birdie'.<br />
<br />
<strong>Kangana's remarks on Pitroda's comments</strong><br />
<br />
Kangana took to Instagram Stories to respond to the controversy and wrote: “Congress Uncle Sam said south Indians look like Africans, East/northeast Indians look like Chinese, people from Gujarat belt look like Arabs and people from up north look like white people, I wonder which part of India Uncle Sam belongs to because he looks more like a birdie than human.”<br />
<br />
She added that Indians look dark because they look like their ancestors. “Shyam means colour black, Lord Rama was the darkest shade of the black, Arjun was black and Draupadi was the darkest of them all, she was the most gorgeous and the most stunning woman ever. Krishna gave her his name he always called her 'Krishna' lovingly because of her colour. Darker people in this nation are like their above mentioned ancestors not like Africans. When Arjuna married a Manipuri woman, he married a Sanatani princess called Chitrangada not a Chinese looking girl. People from Gujarat and Maharashtra look perfectly Indians so do up north people, just because your Raja babu is Italian doesn't mean everyone's genes are mixed. We are shudh 100% desi Bharatiya,” she wrote.</p>

<p><strong>What did Sam Pitroda say?</strong><br />
<br />
In a podcast recently, the Congress leader said, "We have survived 75 years in a very happy environment where people could live together, leaving aside a few fights here and there."</p>

<p>"We could hold the country as diverse as India together. All of us are brothers and sisters. We respect different languages, different religions, different customs, different food," Pitroda said in the interview. His comments went viral soon after.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reacted to Pitroda's comments. Modi asked, “Will the ability of people be decided in my country on the basis of skin colour.”<br />

Kangana dated Adhyayan for a few months in 2008-09. The two met on sets of <em>Raaz: The Mystery Continues</em> and started dating soon after. A few years after they broke up, both Adhyayan and Shekhar levelled allegations that Kangana did black magic on her ex-boyfriend.<br />
<br />
Keeping that in mind, several X users pointed at the old incident and expressed shock over the two being part of the same party. “This is interesting. This new BJP leader Shekhar Suman had accused senior BJP leader Kangana Ranaut of performing black magic against his son, using menstrual blood. I wonder if Shekhar and Kangana will campaign together for old times sake (teary-eyed laughter emojis).”&nbsp;<br />

Before Shekar joined BJP, he extended an olive branch to Kangana in an interview with Zoom. He said, “We are not holding on to anything at all. Not the family, not Adhyayan. I think it is pointless talking about it. I said it was just a phase. It happens, and then it's over.”<br />

Actors Shekhar Suman and Kangana Ranaut are now part of the same party. Earlier this week, Suman joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, weeks after his son Adhyayan Suman's ex-girlfriend Ranaut joined the party. Ranaut is now contesting the Lok Sabha Elections from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh and Suman has said he has no qualms in campaigning for the actress. The Sumans had a very public spat with Kangana Ranaut a few years back. Will Shekhar campaign for Kangana? During his induction into the party, Shekhar was asked by news agency IANS if he'd campaign for Kangana in Mandi, considering their differences. He promptly responded, “Agar bulayengi toh kyu nahi jayenge? Ye toh mera farz hai, aur haq bhi (If she invites me then why wouldn't I go? This is my duty, and my right as well).” What was beef about? Lok Sabha elections 2024: Kangana Ranaut quashes rumours of 'consuming beef', calls herself 'proud Hindu'

<p>Randeep Hooda has stated that Kangana Ranaut had unfairly targeted Alia Bhatt in 2019 and called her mediocre. In a recent interview, Randeep spoke about defending&nbsp;Alia because he felt Kangana was unfair to her.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Randeep, recently seen in <em>Swatantrya Veer Savarkar</em>, spoke to chat show host Siddharth Kannan who asked him why he stood&nbsp;up for Alia Bhatt in 2019.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Randeep revealed he had developed a spiritual bond with Alia when they co-starred in Imtiaz Ali's <em>Highway</em>.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
“While making Highway, I developed a spiritual bond with Alia. I don’t know if it’s the same for her. That’s up to her. I can only speak for myself. I have seen that she has always tried to do new things. I stood up for Alia genuinely because she was unfairly targetted (by Kangana Ranaut).”<br />
<br />
He then added, “To target your fellow actors or your colleagues or your fraternity over things that you feel you did not get, even though I think you did get a lot from this industry, it’s just unbecoming. I felt that I should do it (defend Alia) and I did it. I did not think about it so deeply. I think she (Alia) tries every time,” he said.</p>

<p><strong>What did Kangana Ranaut say about Alia Bhatt</strong><br />
<br />
Kangana had criticised Alia's performance in 2019 hit film <em>Gully Boy</em> and called it 'mediocre'.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Back then, entertainment website Bollywood Life ran a poll asking fans to vote for the best performance by a female actor in 2019. Kangana won the poll with 37 per cent votes for her performance in <em>Manikarnika</em> which had released the same year. Alia was a close second with 33 per cent of votes.<br />
<br />
When the publication contacted Kangana for her reaction on beating Alia, she said, “I am embarrassed... what is there to beat in her Gully Boy performance... same snappy muh phat (outspoken) girl... Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media has taken filmy kids love too far. Stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised.”</p>

<br />
<strong>How had Alia Bhatt responded?</strong><br />
<br />
Later, when Alia was asked to respond to Kangana’s statement, she had said, “I respect Kangana’s work a lot and I respect her opinion. If she feels a particular way, she must have a reason to feel that way. I would rather remember how much she had praised me after watching Raazi. And I’d just like to focus on my work. Maybe she will appreciate me again if I work hard enough.”</p>

<p><strong>How Randeep supported Alia</strong><br />
<br />
Soon after Kangana's comment on Alia went viral, Randeep Hooda took to X (formerly Twitter) and defended Alia by writing, “Dearest Alia, I’m so glad you are not letting the opinions of very occasional actors and chronic victims affect you and your work .. kudos to you for your continued efforts to outdo yourself.” Alia acknowledged his support and wrote, “Randy (smiling face with open arms emojis)."<br />

Kangana won the poll with 37 per cent votes for her performance in Manikarnika which had released the same year. Alia was a close second with 33 per cent of votes. Stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised.” Alia Bhatt stuns in two distinct looks as she hosts her first charity gala. See pics How had Alia Bhatt responded? Later, when Alia was asked to respond to Kangana’s statement, she had said, “I respect Kangana’s work a lot and I respect her opinion. If she feels a particular way, she must have a reason to feel that way. I would rather remember how much she had praised me after watching Raazi. And I’d just like to focus on my work. Maybe she will appreciate me again if I work hard enough.” How Randeep supported Alia Soon after Kangana's comment on Alia went viral, Randeep Hooda took to X (formerly Twitter) and defended Alia by writing, “Dearest Alia, I’m so glad you are not letting the opinions of very occasional actors and chronic victims affect you and your work .. kudos to you for your continued efforts to outdo yourself.” Alia acknowledged his support and wrote, “Randy (smiling face with open arms emojis)."

Kangana Ranaut hits out at Rahul Gandhi over 'Shakti' remark; 'how can he say such things'

From Amitabh Bachchan to Kamal Haasan to Hema Malini, several Indian cinema icons have ventured into the world of politics. As stars like Kangana Ranaut make their political debut this election season, we look at other prominent names from showbiz who have tried their hand at politics.

Indian stars who have forayed into politics

A bunch of Indian actors including Kangana Ranaut, Arun Govil and Govinda made headlines this week for formally joining politics. This is not the first time when political parties have welcomed movie and television stars to contest elections, hoping that their star power would contribute to the popularity of the party. As India gears up for the Lok Sabha elections, let's take a look at various other performers who later decided to join politics.

<p>Ever since Kangana Ranaut announced her foray into politics, she has been dominating the headlines for one reason or the other. The actor expressed her gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi on her recent entrance into active politics. Now the actress has called herself and Shah Rukh Khan as the last generations of stars.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
While speaking to Times Now, she spoke about her films not doing well and compared her career trajectory with that of SRK. Kangana was asked whether she joined politics because her movies were not doing well at the box office to which she pointed out to SRK and said he too delivered a string of flops before delivering the blockbuster hit<em> Pathaan.&nbsp;</em></p>
