"Do you know the story of how we got her? Matthew [Perry] asked her to be on the show," Bright said. "She wrote back to him, ‘Write me a paper on quantum physics and I’ll do it.’ My understanding is that Matthew went away and wrote a paper and faxed it to her the next day."<br />
<br />
Staff writer Alexa Junge noted that they "may have met before the episode, but she was interested in him from afar because he’s so charming."<br />

"There was a lot of flirting over faxing," Junge added. "She was giving him these questionnaires like, ‘Why should I go out with you?’ And everyone in the writer's room helped him explain to her why. He could do pretty well without us, but there was no question we were on team Matthew and trying to make it happen for him."<br />

<p>Film fans will have the chance to get their hands on the thigh-high patent leather boots worn by Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman” or Tom Cruise’s “Top Gun” bomber jacket when nearly 1,000 items of movie memorabilia go on sale in an auction in December.</p>

<p>The artefacts in the annual Prop Store Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction have been hunted down by Prop Store boss Stephen Lane through his network of filmmakers, cast and crew members, production companies and collectors.</p>

<p>“I started Prop Store out of my passion for collecting and so it’s all about the hunt,” Lane told Reuters in his company’s warehouses in Rickmansworth, near London.</p>

<p>“A lot of these artefacts are just thrown away at the end of production or certainly used to be. They were just disposed of or sold off. And that meant they just went to the four winds,” Lane said.</p>

<p>Some of the tems on this year’s list turned up unexpectedly.</p>

<p>Lane, a passionate “Star Wars” fan, was visiting a crew member who had laid out his treasure trove of props from the sci-fi series in his house. He spotted another piece of movie magic - the crystal ball that David Bowie uses in “Labyrinth”.</p>

<p>“We’d spent like three hours up in one room looking at all the ‘Star Wars’ and downstairs, and it was a piece he just didn’t think anybody was going to be interested in, and I was like ‘that’s the cherry right there’.”</p>

<p>“That’s the real excitement of what I do,” Lane said of the crystal ball, which is estimated to sell for £10,000 - £15,000.</p>

<p>In total more than 900 items from over 350 films and television shows will be auctioned in the two-day online sale.</p>

<p>Highlights include Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Hero Lightsaber from “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith”, estimated at £80,000 - £120,000, Jack Nicholson’s Joker’s Fedora from the 1989 movie “Batman”, estimated at £20,000 - £30,000, and James Bond’s MI6 Training Suit from “Skyfall”, estimated at £15,000.</p>

<p>Speaking with fellow actor Patricia Arquette for Variety's Actors on Actors series recently, Roberts revealed that the screenplay she auditioned for in the first place was a far cry from the romantic-comedy that fans love today.</p>

<p>"So many, many, many years ago, one of my early auditions was for a movie called 3,000. Most people don't know that 3,000 was the original Pretty Woman script.</p>

<p>"That movie was really dark and the ending was really heavy," Arquette said at the beginning of her interview with Roberts.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Roberts revealed that the original script ended with her character being thrown "out of the car," before the driver "threw the money on top of her, as memory serves, and just drove away, leaving her in some dirty alley."</p>

<p>"So it really read like a gritty art movie. When you first read it, it was that incarnation," Arquette said. Roberts explained that while she landed the role in "3,000", she thinks she "had no business being in a movie like that".</p>

<p>"However, that version of the film was never executed because of the "small movie company" behind the script "folded over the weekend," according to Roberts.</p>

<p>"And by Monday, I didn't have a job," she added. The script and its sole remaining producer ended up landing at Disney, which Roberts originally thought was odd."I thought, "Went to Disney? Are they going to animate it?" she told Arquette.</p>

<p>"Director Garry Marshall came on, and because he's a great human being, he felt it would only be fair to meet me since I had this job for three days and lost it. And they changed the whole thing. And it became more something that is in my wheelhouse," Roberts added.</p>

<p>"I couldn't do it then. I couldn`t do it now," Roberts said of the initial script, adding, "Thank God it fell apart."The two actors also discussed the pay gap in the Hollywood industry, as Arquette asked Roberts if her salaries early on in her career felt like "breaking that glass ceiling".</p>

<p>"It never felt like pressure. All the salaries in those days where there was just a lot of money to be spent making films, in a comical way, I thought, Okay, sure, this is ridiculous, but I`ll be part of this party," Roberts said.</p>

<p>"I'm just walking in a path that Barbra Streisand has hacked out with a machete, so to be the gardener that's picking some weeds that have come up since these incredible women before me have made a path for all of us to be artists in our own right, it was nice to feel that I had a little puzzle piece to that," she added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Roberts said that she felt like she could be more picky with her projects after filming "Sleeping with the Enemy".</p>
