Israeli warplanes bombed a power station and two ports in Houthi-controlled Yemen on Friday in retaliation for Houthi drone and missile strikes against Israel, and pro-Houthi media said at least one person had been killed and nine wounded.

The strikes hit the Red Sea port of Ras Issa and the major port of Hodeidah and the Hezyaz central power station in Yemen's capital Sanaa, and Harf Sufyan District in Amran province also came under air attack, said Al Masirah TV, the main news outlet run by the Houthis.
An employee at the Ras Issa port was killed and six others were injured, while three people, including a worker, were wounded in the strikes on Hezyaz, the outlet said.
The Israeli military said more than 20 aircraft took part in the attack, dropping around 50 bombs and missiles in an operation which required airborne refuelling during the 2,000-km (1,240-mile) flight.
Earlier, British security firm Ambrey said airstrikes on the Ras Issa port targeted oil storage facilities in the vicinity of shipping berths, though no merchant vessels were reported to have been damaged.
The supply of petroleum derivatives is stable, the Houthi government spokesperson Hashem Sharaf Eddine said after the attack.
An Israeli military statement confirmed the targets, saying the power station served as a "central source of energy for the Houthi terrorist regime in its military activities". It added that the targets struck were examples of the "Houthis' exploitation of civilian infrastructure".
Within the past 48 hours, the Houthis have fired three drones at Israel's commercial hub Tel Aviv and more drones and missiles at the U.S. aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said.
The Houthis have targeted Israel, hundreds of kilometres to the north as well as international shipping in waters near Yemen since November 2023 in support of Palestinian militants at war with Israel in Gaza.
Israel has responded with airstrikes in Houthi-held areas of Yemen, as have British and U.S. forces in the region.

Further, the IDF noted that they took steps before the airstrike to reduce the harm to civilians, and accused Hamas of "cruelly exploiting civilian shelters, civilian buildings, and the civilian population as human shields.&rdquo;
The Hamas-run Interior Ministry issued a statement, condemning the killing of the two officers.&nbsp;
"They were performing their humanitarian and national duty in serving our people," the statement read.&nbsp;

At least 15,000 devices failed to detonate on Hezbollah militants during the final activation phase of the pager attack in Lebanon, according to a report by Israeli news outlet i24NEWS on Wednesday (December 26).

The reservist at the Israeli Defence Force (IDF), who was charged for the leak of security documents at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office, has asked the president for a pardon. 
The officer, whose name has not been revealed due to a gag order, was charged along with Eli Feldstein, an aide to Netanyahu. He was charged with transferring classified information, which is a punishable act in Israel with seven years in prison. He was also charged with theft by an authorised person and obstruction of justice.
The officer's lawyer wrote a letter to the president saying the officer “understood that his acts were forbidden and would not repeat them". 
The letter further added, “If the criminal proceedings taken against him, within the framework of an indictment full of errors, distortions and distortions, a procedure that should never have happened, are not enough, he was ordered detained until the end of the proceedings by the Supreme Court’s decision, which, with all due respect, is a fundamental mistake."

“I think that we are going to stay in Gaza for a long time. I think most people understand that [Israel] will be years in some kind of West Bank situation where you go in and out and maybe you remain along Netzarim [corridor],” the Israeli minister said.

This comes amidst reports that the IDF is clearing ground for establishing military bases in the Palestinian&nbsp;territory, especially in Gaza’s Netzarim corridor, a military zone that has been established between the Mediterranean coast and Gaza’s eastern perimeter fence. “That was the only mission. There was not a single construction left that was taller than my waist anywhere (in the corridor), except our bases and observation towers,” Dichter added.

<h2>Hamas showing flexibility</h2>

Meanwhile, a report in the New York Times hinted that Hamas may allow the&nbsp;IDF to temporarily stay on the enclave’s border with Egypt. Hamas officials can allow the Israeli military to keep occupying the Philadelphi Corridor, which the government of Israeli Prime Minister&nbsp;Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to not withdraw from.

At least 31 killed in Lebanon after Israeli military pounds 25 Hezbollah targets in one hour

The Israeli military said Wednesday (Nov. 20) the Israeli Air Force (IAF) took out the commanders of the anti-tank missile and operations unit of the Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah in the coastal sector. The Israeli military claimed the commanders were behind several terror attacks targeting civilian communities in the Western Galilee and Israel's coastal area.

The IAF is said to have targeted over 100 sites housing Hezbollah’s launchers, weapons storage facilities, and command centres over the past 24 hours.

Hezbollah claims it fired missiles at IDF air base near Tel Aviv

Hezbollah said it launched a drone attack targeting Israel's military headquarters and ministry of defence in the city of Tel Aviv on Wednesday.

In a statement, the Lebanese militant group said it conducted an "aerial attack with a squadron of exploding drones" on the site housing Israel's main defence institutions in the commercial hub.

The office of Israel's military spokesperson told AFP it would not comment on Hezbollah's claims.

In two statements on Wednesday, the military said it had intercepted two drones and 40 projectiles launched from Lebanon, in attacks that caused no injuries.

The statements did not specify what sites had been targeted.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s chief of staff, Tzachi Braverman came under fire on Sunday as a report claims his involvement in blackmailing an IDF officer to reportedly alter minutes from wartime meetings.&nbsp;

Braverman allegedly threatened the officer with a sensitive video recording that he obtained from security cameras in the Prime Minister’s Office, the report by the Kan public broadcaster claimed.

The report also said that the obtained sensitive video recording was shown to other PMO employees as well.

Braverman, on the other hand, denied any such involvement and called the report “false” and “defamatory” in a statement.&nbsp;

The PMO released a letter from Braverman’s lawyer demanding an immediate public apology from Kan political reporter Michael Shemesh and the network’s director general Golan Yochpaz.&nbsp;

The letter called the Kan report “lies, fake news” and “severe slander, alongside wild incitement in a time of war.”

If Kan did not comply, Braverman’s attorney Oriel Nizri threatened “a series of legal actions” against the outlet and Shemesh.

The Kan’s report came on Sunday, which was released in the wake of several other reports that came after a complaint filed with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi claiming PMO was holding and making inappropriate use of sensitive footage of an IDF officer.

An unnamed official in Netanyahu’s cabinet reportedly told Halevi that the officer was in an inappropriate relationship with a female worker in the PMO. But following an army probe it was determined the relationship was not an abuse of power.&nbsp;

According to Channel 13 news, PMO officials demanded the&nbsp;woman’s phone on suspicion of her leaking information but used it to extract the private conversations between her and the IDF officer.

The report mentioning Braverman came amid a sea of allegations charged against the PMO over leaks of sensitive information and the alleged theft of top-secret intelligence documents.

The ruckus over such allegations led police officials to question several PMO employees and a proper investigation into the case, which Netanyahu’s office slammed as a witch hunt.&nbsp;

Netanyahu himself has not been accused in any of the investigations.

In a shocking video, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) showed&nbsp;a tunnel “strategically” built under a cemetery in Lebanon, which the IDF troops dismantled later.

The Israeli military on Sunday (Nov 10) said it destroyed multiple underground tunnels used by Hezbollah members in Lebanon, including the one that was allegedly found under a cemetery.&nbsp;

The tunnel was a kilometre long with housed command and control rooms, as the video shows. It also featured sleeping quarters and weapon caches, as seen in an X post shared by the official handle of IDF.&nbsp;

"Hezbollah doesn't value human life -- dead or alive," the IDF said.&nbsp;

In the video, an Israeli troop was seen showing a "hundred-metre" tunnel in south Lebanon with iron doors, "functioning" rooms, AK-47 rifles, a bedroom, a bathroom, a storage room of generators, water tanks and two-wheelers.
