The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) has not been able to procure fit certificate for three stands I, J and K from the local municipal corporation since 2012.

"We will have discussions with TNCA as we don't want to deprive Chennai their right of playing at home. But three empty stands is an issue. Hyderabad and Bangalore are the two stand by venues for two play-offs, Eliminator and final," a senior BCCI official told PTI on Monday.

It was also learnt that CoA has asked the steering committee of Players' Association to expedite the process.

"The Players' Association is expected to take shape in the&nbsp;next two weeks. The four-member committee has been told to expedite the process," the official said.

The BCCI has also decided to invite fresh tender for title sponsorship of domestic tournaments and international games in India.

"It will be a fresh process but PayTm can also bid but just like new bidders."&nbsp;

The deceased, named Farhaj Ahsan, went to the mosque for Friday's prayers but went missing after the attacks.

Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased are planning to go to New Zealand. Nobody was willing to speak to the media amid the sad reports of Ashan's death.

Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, in his Facebook post, termed as shocking, the news that a Kodungallur native was among those who were killed in the terror attack in New Zealand.

"We have been trying to contact the embassy through Non-Resident Keralites Affairs Department (NORKA-ROOTS) to gather more information.&nbsp; 
We share the grief of the family," Vijayan said.

According to reports, the woman was pursuing her MTech at a university there.

Her husband Abdul Nazer hails from Kochi.

Television channels also aired a visual of a man purportedly saying he was from Moovattupuzha in the State and that he had a narrow escape.

"I had come to the mosque along with a friend. I had a phone call and suddenly heard gunshots and saw a man shooting people and entering the mosque," the man is heard saying in the footage.

He also said he and his friend had a "narrow and lucky escape."

Two Indians among 49 killed in New Zealand terror attack

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday hit out at Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for playing the nuclear and Muslim cards against India and denounced Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror outfits, describing these as “demon” outfits.

Attacking Khan, he said the Pakistan Prime Minister makes “weird” comments in his country’s Parliament.“He (Khan) says we have atom bomb, etc. Do we not have those? We also have,” Owaisi said addressing a gathering in Hyderabad.

He also asked Khan to desist from playing the Muslim card to target India.“Muslims of this country know better. Handle your ‘Lashkar-e-Shaitaan’ (a reference to Lashkar-e-Taiba) and Jaish-e-Shaitaan (a reference to Jaish-e-Mohammad),” the Lok Sabha member said, in his message to the Pakistan Prime Minister.

The Muslim leader also denounced JeM chief Masood Azhar, saying he should not be called a “Maulana” but a “devil’s dog and butcher of humanity”.

“Exploding bombs, attacking people is not Islam,” the MP from Hyderabad said, adding “India’s enemies are our (Muslims’) enemies too.”

Owaisi also slammed Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi who said yesterday that Masood Azhar is in Pakistan but “too ill”.

“He (Qureshi) asked for evidence. What more evidence do they need? His organisation (Jaish-e-Mohammad) is banned,” he said.

Owaisi said Khan was also misrepresenting the role of Tipu Sultan and Bahadur Shah Zafar in his speeches.

“Tipu Sultan was never against Hindus but against the regimes, whosoever led those,” he said.

He expressed happiness over the return of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, was in Pakistan’s captivity after his MiG-21 fighter plane was shot down on February 27.

The AIMIM chief also went on to add, “We praised the government over air strikes (on JeM camp in Balakot) in response to the Pulwama terror attack. But, now the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) needs to answer, how the terrorists were able to procure explosives? How they got hold of American weapons? Why was there intelligence and diplomatic failures? ”

Addressing a gathering in Hyderabad on the occasion of 61st revival day of AIMIM, he said, “Sixty years ago, at this very place, Jinnah came. We didn’t accept Jinnah’s message. We said India is our country.Those who understood Islam, stayed in India while the ‘razakars’ (volunteers), who adhered to the message of Mohammad Ali Jinnah, went to Pakistan,” the AIMIM chief said.

Owaisi also claimed that all sorts of allegations were levelled against him in the last four years. “What was our mistake? Are we against Hindus? Are we against Dalits?” he questioned.

“You may doubt because I am a Muslim but if BJP is saying ‘mera booth, sabse mazboot (my booth is the strongest), then I am saying ‘mera sarhad majboot toh desh mazboot (if my borders are protected, then my country is protected’.

So when you vote, keep in mind what is good for the nation and not the strength of someone’s booth,” AIMIM chief told the gathering. He also vowed to `finish BJP from Secundarabad and Congress from entire Telangana`.

A man filed a complaint against doctors at NIMS Hospital here for 'leaving' a scissor in his wife’s abdomen during surgery.

According to the complainant Harshavardhan, his wife Maheshwari Chowdhary was suffering from Hernia and had undergone surgery under the care of Dr. Venumadhav, Surgical Gastroenterologist, on November 2, 2018, at NIMS hospital.

“Now since two days, Maheshwari was having severe abdominal pain. Yesterday she was admitted to NIMS hospital again. After all medical tests, a scissor was found in her abdomen in an X-Ray. This scissor was left by the doctors’ team during her surgery,” Harshavardhan alleged.

Taking action on the complaint, the police registered a case under Sections 336 and 337 of the IPC against the team of doctors who had performed the surgery of Maheshwari. The case is under investigation, said Vijay Kumar, ACP Panjagutta division.

“Maheshwari was having pain in her abdomen. She had undergone Hernia surgery on November 2. Today, a scissor was found in her abdomen after medical tests. The medical team immediately operated and removed the scissor from her abdomen. Her condition is stable now,” said Dr Manoher, Director of NIMS hospital.

Manoher further said that an internal committee is looking into the incident. After the internal committee submits a report, action will be initiated against the concerned persons, he assured.&nbsp;

Telangana Assembly session to commence on January 17

Muslims and the “settlers” from the coastal and Rayalaseema regions of Andhra Pradesh are likely to play a crucial role in the electoral fortunes of the candidates in 24 constituencies falling under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

In the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Assembly polls, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had won nine seats, Asaduddin Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) seven, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) five and Telangana’s ruling party Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) had won three seats.

The TDP and the BJP were in an alliance in 2014. For the upcoming Telangana Assembly polls, the N Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP has struck an electoral pact with the Congress.

In the December 7 election, all the nine MLAs of the TDP, who had left the party subsequently, are contesting on TRS tickets.

Naidu has been campaigning vigorously in the region for the candidates of the Congress-led “Praja Kutami” or the grand alliance, also comprising the TDP, the Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) and the Communist Party of India (CPI).

Naidu has also addressed poll meetings along with Congress president Rahul Gandhi in the GHMC areas, which have over 40 lakh voters.

The TDP, which is being projected by the TRS as an “Andhra party”, is contesting in some of the key constituencies in the area such as Serilingampalli, Kukatpally and Uppal.

Naidu’s party, which largely banks on the votes of the “settlers”, has fielded party founder NT Rama Rao’s granddaughter Nandamuri Suhasini from Kukatpally.

Political analyst and former MLC Nageswar said the “settlers” would certainly play a decisive role in the electoral outcome in these seats, but they might not vote en masse for any particular party, given the “diverse social structure”.

He pointed out that the TRS had won 100 seats in the GHMC polls largely due to the votes of the “settlers”.

“They (settlers) may not vote for the TRS now, unlike the way they had done in the GHMC polls. At the same time, they may also not vote for the TDP en masse. A particular community, which has got the backing of the TDP, may vote for it, but there are other influential communities which may desist it,” Nageswar said.

Telangana will go to polls on December 7 after Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had dissolved the 119-member Assembly in September and the results will be declared on December 11.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is opening what is touted as&nbsp;"First Dog Park'' in the country dedicated especially to dogs and their owners.&nbsp;

Built at a cost of Rs 1.1 crore on 1.3 acres, this Dog Park is located in Kondapur area on the western side of Hyderabad city.

"There were lot of requests from dog owners to have a dedicated place wherein they can bring in their dogs for recreation because in normal parks people object the presence of dogs due to various reasons,'' says D.Harichandana, IAS, Zonal Commissioner of GHMC, who herself is a dog lover and the brain behind this Dog Park while speaking to Zee Media.

"There are many benefits both for dogs and its owners from this dedicated park wherein they can relax and there will be a Vet in case any dog needs medical attention,'' adds D.Harichandana.

Hyderabad scored a decent 178 for six against Chennai in the Indian Premier League final at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.&nbsp;

Skipper Kane Williamson left behind his poor form and played a captain's knock to settle the team.&nbsp;

Unlike other games, Kane took few balls to settle and then went for big shots. He made 47 runs in 36 balls which included five fours and two sixes.&nbsp;

He fell just three runs short to reach his 9th IPL half-century and gave away his wicket to Karn Sharma.&nbsp;

Later it was Yusuf Pathan and Carlos Brathwaite's cameos which helped Hyderabad cross the 150 runs mark. Pathan remained unbeaten and made 45 runs in just 25 balls. His inning included four boundaries and two sixes.

Brathwaite, on the other hand, smashed three sixes to reach 21 runs in 11 balls.&nbsp;

However, he gave away his wicket on the last ball of Hyderabad's innings while trying to hit another six for the team.&nbsp;

Opener Shikhar Dhawan too contributed 26 runs.

For Chennai, apart from Deepak Chahar, every other bowler took one wicket apiece. While it was Bravo who turned out to be the costliest today, as he gave 46 runs in his four overs.&nbsp;

Opinion: Why Hyderabad will have their hands on glistening IPL 2018 trophy

So it shall be written. So it shall be done. The 11the edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) has been a repeat of so many other seasons so far.

As expected Chennai in the final, which has been the case most of the seasons barring a few. And they have an opponent whom they will steamroll in the final and lift the title. Only thing is that this time the opponent is a different team.&nbsp;

After two years of hibernation, the lion (Chennai) is back and is hungrier than ever before.&nbsp;When the team was forced out of their den (Chennai) due to Cauvery protest, the team lost a rapturous fanbase who thronged M.A. Chidambaram Stadium to cheer their favourite team everytime they played.

But that did not stop the team from going for the title. With Captain cool at the helm and 10 soldiers ready to put their lives on the line for their captain, the title is within their grasp.

Hyderabad will square off against Chennai for the fourth time in IPL 2018. Kane Williamson’s side have enjoyed a great run in this tournament so far. However, he has his task cut out against MS Dhoni’s Chennai, who are on a roll and have defeated Hyderabad on all three occasions in this edition of the tournament.
