During a few relaxing moments, Kelly was explaining to Trump "which countries were on which side during the conflict" and "connected the dots from the first world war to the second world war and all of Hitler’s atrocities".

This was when Trump insisted that Hitler "did a lot of good things". As per sources, quoted by Bender, Kelly was quick to dismiss Trump’s statements and he "told the president that he was wrong, but Trump was undeterred". Trump, reportedly, justified his statement by stressing Germany’s economic recovery during the 1930s under Hitler’s rule.

"Kelly pushed back again," Bender writes, "and argued that the German people would have been better off poor than subjected to the Nazi genocide."

As per the book, Kelly stood his ground opposing Trump and told the former reality TV star "you cannot ever say anything supportive of&nbsp;Adolf Hitler. You just can't."

This incident took place at the same time when Trump had landed himself in trouble by allegedly calling US troops who died in the war "losers" and "suckers".

Trump has, however, denied all claims. The book, meanwhile, is due to release on July 13, 2021. Media organisation, the Guardian, has obtained a copy of the book in advance.

He spent the final decades of his life based in his hometown, Munich, with his family, under his own name. And the explanation for this strange immunity appears to lie in his usefulness in the spying conflicts of the Cold War.

US&nbsp;intelligence documents show that there was strong interest in drawing on Huber’s wartime network to recruit agents in the Soviet bloc, even as Austria was seeking to have him tried for war crimes.

“Although we are by no means unmindful of the dangers involved in playing around with a Gestapo general,” a CIA memo from 1953 stated, “we also believe, on the basis of the information now in our possession, that Huber might be profitably used by this organization.”

Newly disclosed US&nbsp;and German intelligence records reveal that both countries made efforts to conceal Huber’s role in the crimes of the Third Reich and to prevent him from facing trial. German public broadcaster ARD obtained the records and shared them with The New York Times. They will be presented in a “Munich Report” investigative documentary scheduled to be broadcast in Germany on Tuesday.

The German intelligence service, known by the initials BND, employed Huber full time for nearly a decade, giving him a cover story that made him appear to work for a private business. It was nearly 20 years after the war before agency bosses decided they could no longer tolerate the connection. A December 1964 memo warned that disclosure of the secret would “frustrate the efforts of the service’s leadership to build confidence with the federal government and the public.”

This was not the first time Huber had adapted himself to new masters.

In the 1920s and early 1930s, as a talented young police officer in Munich, he took part in the surveillance of political parties, including the Nazis. After Hitler took power in 1933, he became a zealous Nazi and, soon after, a senior figure in the Gestapo, Nazi Germany’s feared secret police force.

The Nazi leaders building that force needed experienced police officers, said Michael Holzmann, the son of an Austrian Nazi who has for many years been researching the activities of the Gestapo in that country. “Huber seized this opportunity and turned from a little investigator into a most successful leader of the Gestapo terror regime in former Austria,” he said.

In March 1938, after Germany annexed Austria, Huber was made the Gestapo chief of the most important part of the country, including Vienna, the capital. Shortly after, the Gestapo began an extensive hunt for dissidents in Austria, and Huber gave orders “to arrest immediately undesirable, particularly criminally motivated Jews and transfer them to the concentration camp Dachau.” A few days later, the first two transports of Jews left Vienna for the camp, with many more to follow.

Huber remained in his post until the end of the war, being given more and more personnel and authority. During that time, 70,000 Austrian Jews who were not able to leave the country were murdered, close to 40% of the original community, while their property was looted by the Nazis.

Eichmann confirmed at his trial that he was involved in the deportation of Jews but refused to plead guilty to genocide, saying, “I did not have any other option than to follow the orders I got.”

Huber took a different approach. Speaking to an official of the Nuremberg war crimes tribunal in 1948 — who interviewed him as a witness, not a suspect — he said he had known nothing about the extermination until the end of 1944, when his deputy told him something vague.

“But the historical evidence paints a completely different picture,” says professor Moshe Zimmerman, a historian and Holocaust scholar at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. “Eichmann may have been a face more familiar to the Jewish community, but the one who shared responsibility for carrying out the terror against the Jews, their collection, their forced boarding on the trains and their deportation to the camps, was the police and the Gestapo under Huber.”

Huber was also photographed accompanying the head of the SS and the Gestapo, Heinrich Himmler, on a visit to the Mauthausen concentration camp in upper Austria, where at least 90,000 internees were murdered.

Toward the end of the war Huber was marked as a senior wanted war criminal by US&nbsp;intelligence, and he appears to have anticipated what might come. He devoted much of his time to dealing with agents from the East, a commodity that would soon be even more valuable.

There are no available records about his interactions with US&nbsp;military intelligence over the two years he was in custody, but in May 1947, despite plentiful contradictory evidence, a US&nbsp;investigator wrote that Huber was “a fair, factual impartial police officer who carried out the police functions without party bias or racial and political prejudice.” The document goes on to state that the SS general “was not an adherent of Nazi party ideologies” and calls him “completely trustworthy and reliable.”

A month later, the commander of the US&nbsp;detention camp stated that Huber’s “diligence and cooperation were highly appreciated.” He was released in March 1948.

In December 1955, Huber enlisted in the Gehlen Organization, from which the BND was born shortly afterward.

“The BND recruited many Nazis, but hardly anyone had such an outstanding position,” said Stefan Meining, a historian and an editor with German public television who created the documentary about Huber. “They knew exactly that Huber was not some petty Gestapo murderer but an SS general who moved within the innermost circles of the Nazi terror apparatus and was responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of Jews and opponents of the regime.”

Bodo Hechelhammer, the BND’s chief historian, interviewed in the documentary, confirmed that Huber was an employee of the agency and explained that the search for skilled intelligence personnel with a clear anti-communist leaning led to recruitment “far too often among the former Nazis.” The agency did not respond to a request for further comment. The CIA also declined to comment.

In early 1964, fearing disclosure, the BND concluded that it was “no longer conceivable” to keep Huber, lest his role “endanger the service,” and decided to fire him.

But because Huber had not lied to his bosses about his past, “no fault could be proved” to justify firing him, so he was sent on paid leave instead.

He retired three years later, at age 65, and drew a German civil service pension until his death at age 73.

Positioned on top of the smile line, it looked a bit like the moustache of German dictator Adolf Hitler, users on Twitter pointed out. After that, the company has updated its app logo again and folded the tape on top of the image.

The new design is very similar, but the adhesive tape strip has been redesigned to look nothing like a moustache.

As reported by Mashable, Amazon would not officially admit that this was the reason behind the redesigning icon.

In a statement to The Verge, the company said it "designed the new icon to spark anticipation, excitement, and joy when customers start their shopping journey on their phone, just as they do when they see our boxes on their doorstep."&nbsp;

Spike Lee has sharply criticised former US President Donald Trump and his&nbsp;legacy at the 86th annual New York Film Critics Circle Awards.

Lee, 63, gave a somber&nbsp;acceptance speech for the honorary award presented by Martin Scorsese at the virtual awards show. The 'Da 5 Bloods'&nbsp;director filmed the acceptance speech on Jan. 6, "a very sad day in the history of America," when pro-Trump rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol building.

"You know what, we are living in a very serious time in America. All of us as true Americans have to really think about what’s important," said Lee in his speech. "There’s no way possible to go before the iPhone and thank you without telling you what’s in my heart and soul as a descendent of slaves who helped build this country."

The whole world is laughing at the United States, the so-called cradle of democracy," he added.

"We’re at the crossroads now. And everyone please be safe, this is not a game. These people have guns with ammunition," said Lee. "This president, President Agent Orange, will go down in history with the likes of Hitler. These guys, all his boys, they are going down on the wrong side of history."

The hemispheres are arranged in such a manner that the bar guests see the Earth cross-cut by longitudinal and latitudinal lines.

The bar was used by&nbsp;Hitler to host Italy's leader Benito Mussolini, German military chief Hermann Goering, Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels, and his deputy Rudolph Hess.

It comes along with five bar stools with padded seats, each is 33 inches in height.&nbsp;

The&nbsp;bar set comes with a notarized Letter of Provenance from the owner who describes the circumstances of its purchase.&nbsp;

"In addition to winning the appeal and successfully gaining back our member's job, we have now secured the money our member deserves."

His plan of action included distracting the colonial power with an uprising at home - this would weaken British forces in its war against Germany.

According to Bose's calculation, Germany because of its military superiority would defeat Britain and the domino effect would liberate India too. Hitler, however, refused to help bose.

Historians point out that one of the reasons was because bose had asked the Nazi leader to cut out a couple of passages from Mein Kamph.

In his biography, Hitler has written how it would be better for India to remain under British domination. Bose's plan did not fall into place.

The Germans, however, did help Bose in escaping to Japan.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, Mahatma Gandhi once wrote to Hitler. This was back in 1939 - post Germany's occupation of Czechoslovakia. Gandhi wrote he was appealing for the sake of humanity, for whatever it may be worth.

History has it that Hitler was a fan of Indian hockey legend - Dhyanchand. Germany's loss to India in the 1936 Olympics made Hitler reach out to Dhyanchand.

Baron Cohen's remarks came a day after Google said it would not allow political advertisers to use "microtargeting" based on user browsing data, political affiliation or other factors, including on YouTube.

Google also sought to clarify its policy by indicating it does not allow "false claims" in advertising, political or otherwise.

The move followed a ban by Twitter on most kinds of political ads and comes amid growing pressure on internet platforms to curb the spread of misinformation around political campaigns.

Facebook, which has rejected efforts to fact-check political speech or ads, is being urged to follow suit.

"So here's a good standard and practice: Facebook, start fact-checking political ads before you run them," said Baron Cohen.

"Stop micro-targeted lies immediately, and when the ads are false, give back the money and don't publish them."

The controversial satirist's anarchic, gonzo-style comedy has spawned celebrated TV and movie characters such as Ali G and &nbsp;Borat Sagdiyev -- not to mention acclaim, the occasional lawsuit and a hatful of awards.

Poland, which was invaded by Nazi Germany and lost six million citizens during World War II, insists the matter is closed and says the legislation will have no impact at home.

"This unwillingness to acknowledge that the victims of the Holocaust and their heirs are entitled to a modicum of material justice is unfortunate enough," said World Jewish Congress President Ronald Lauder.&nbsp;

"But Prime Minister Morawiecki's contention -- assuming that it was uttered as reported -- that providing restitution to Jews for their stolen property would be 'Hitler's posthumous victory' is alarming in the extreme," he added in a statement.&nbsp;

According to Polish state television, Morawiecki made the remarks at a convention of the ruling governing Law and Justice (PiS) party in the central city of Lodz last week.&nbsp;

"Whenever anyone says today that Poland must offer someone restitution, we say: we don't consent, and we won't," Morawiecki said, quoted by the television station.

"If it were ever to get to that point, where the executioner and the victim are swapped, then it would go against all principles of international law," he added.

"It would also be Hitler's posthumous victory."&nbsp;

The US Justice for Uncompensated Survivors Today (JUST) Act -- known as the 447 law -- requires the State Department to report to Congress on the progress of countries including Poland on the restitution of Jewish assets seized during World War II and its aftermath.

Pre-war Poland was a Jewish heartland, with a centuries-old community numbering some 3.2 million, around 10 per cent of the population.

Anti-Semitic concerns regarding Poland have recently resurfaced.&nbsp;

Last year, Warsaw passed a law that made it illegal to accuse the Polish nation or state of complicity in Nazi German war crimes.

The US Justice for Uncompensated Survivors Today (JUST) Act -- known as the 447 law -- requires the State Department to report to Congress on the progress of countries including Poland on the restitution of Jewish assets seized during World War II and its aftermath. Pre-war Poland was a Jewish heartland, with a centuries-old community numbering some 3.2 million, around 10 per cent of the population. Anti-Semitic concerns regarding Poland have recently resurfaced. Last year, Warsaw passed a law that made it illegal to accuse the Polish nation or state of complicity in Nazi German war crimes. The move sparked an outcry from Israel, which saw it as an attempt to ban testimonials on Polish crimes against Jews. In response, Warsaw amended the law to remove the possibility of fines or a prison sentence. In February, Israel's foreign minister drew Poland's ire by saying "Poles suckle anti-Semitism with their mothers' milk." Earlier this month Poland scrapped a visit by Israeli officials over their intention to raise the restitution issue.
