In an interview with Fox News, former Acting Under Secretary of Defence for Policy James Anderson said, "They have profited greatly from their thievery over the years. They've put it to good use, and they've come up with an advanced fifth-generation fighter."&nbsp;

Anderson explained how Beijing has been using espionage techniques, including bribery, to US contractors and&nbsp;government officials in more advanced cyber activity to obtain key data.

The US advisory mentioned risks involved with data privacy and the lack of access to information while mentioning Apple Daily newspaper which was shut by authorities.&nbsp;

US President Joe Biden had said earlier that the situation in Hong Kong has been "deteriorating" while adding that the Chinese government has not been keeping its commitment on Hong Kong.&nbsp;

The Department said Honeywell engaged in "unauthorized exports and retransfers of ITAR-controlled technical data that contained engineering prints showing dimensions, geometries, and layouts for manufacturing castings and finished parts for multiple aircraft, gas turbine engines, and military electronics to and/or within Canada, Ireland, Mexico, the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/world/taipei-to-dispatch-military-aircraft-ships-to-counter-chinese-activities-in-taiwan-strait-382948">People’s Republic of China</a>, and Taiwan."

Honeywell voluntarily disclosed to the Department the alleged violations that are resolved under this settlement, it said, adding, "Honeywell also acknowledged the serious nature of the alleged violations, cooperated with the Department’s review, and instituted a number of compliance program improvements during the course of the Department’s review."

"For these reasons, the Department has determined that it is not appropriate to administratively debar Honeywell at this time."

Honeywell, however, said that its “designs were inadvertently shared during normal business discussions” and technical information “was assessed as having an impact on national security”, it is “commercially available throughout the world”, it said. “No detailed manufacturing or engineering expertise was shared," the company declared.

Around 12,000 U.S. service members, including from the Marines and Navy, will join South Korean troops. Aircraft taking part will be flown from eight U.S. and South Korean military installations.

South Korean media reports said B-1B Lancer bombers could join the exercise this week. The U.S. Air Force spokesman could not confirm the reports.

The joint exercise is designed to enhance readiness and operational capability and to ensure peace and security on the Korean peninsula, the U.S. military had said before the drills began.

The drills come a week after North Korea said it had tested its most advanced intercontinental ballistic missile ever in defiance of international sanctions and condemnation.

Pyongyang blamed U.S. President Donald Trump for raising tensions and warned at the weekend the Vigilant Ace exercise was pushing tensions on the Korean peninsula towards &ldquo;a flare-up&rdquo;, according to North Korean state media.

North Korea&rsquo;s Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country called Trump &ldquo;insane&rdquo; on Sunday and said the drill would &ldquo;push the already acute situation on the Korean peninsula to the brink of nuclear war&rdquo;.

The North&rsquo;s KCNA state news agency, citing a foreign ministry spokesman, also said on Saturday the Trump administration was &ldquo;begging for nuclear war by staging an extremely dangerous nuclear gamble on the Korean peninsula&rdquo;.

North Korea regularly uses its state media to threaten the United States and its allies.
