“There are people in Europe who’ve had to flee because of war, economic factors, environmental disasters, people who simply want to be taken in. We have to ask what are we doing at the moment? We in Germany are doing very, very well, and when we say something like that, I think it’s crazy how we turn a blind eye and simply block out such things.”

Nagelsmann's statement comes after midfielder Joshua Kimmich called the survey&nbsp;as "absolutely racist" and said it was "madness for a public broadcaster" to ask such a daft question.&nbsp;&nbsp;

“Anyone who’s grown up with soccer knows this is absolute nonsense. Soccer in particular is a good example of how you can unite different nations, different skin colours and different religions,” Kimmich said.

Gianluca Scamacca has played his way into Italy's provisional squad for Euro 2024 after a phenomenal end to the season, as coach Luciano Spalletti announced on Thursday his provisional squad for Germany.

Striker Scamacca was picked by Spalletti after scoring 11 goals and setting up four more in all competitions since the start of March, helping fire Atalanta to their historic Europa League triumph on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old had been dropped for Italy's March friendlies with Venezuela and Ecuador by Spalletti who railed against footballers "playing on the PlayStation until four in the morning", a comment widely interpreted as being directed at Scamacca.

Spalletti has selected the in-form Scamacca in an attempt to resolve Italy's long-standing problem of finding reliable strikers.

Inconsistent Ciro Immobile -- one of the pivotal figures in Italy's Euro triumph three years ago -- has been dropped.

Security forces will be charged with protecting some 2.7 million fans, 24 team base camps spread across the country and ten stadiums where 51 matches will be played between June 14 and July 14.

After the kit’s debut in the France friendly, it was pointed out that kit No. 44 symbolises Nazi 'SS' units due to the pattern of ‘4’ used in it. The stylised SS symbol is banned in Germany today as it indicated police units, combat forces, and others who ran the concentration camps that carried out the mass killings of civilians during World War II. The kits with number No. 44 were immediately called back to avoid any further controversy with Germany being the host of the Euro 2024. Adidas had earlier claimed that it would remove the number 44 from its range of customisation options. They also claimed that DFB and 11teamsports were responsible for the design of the names and numbers on the shirts.
