Gadde’s LinkedIn profile showed he enrolled at Trine University in the US state of Indiana in the 2023-24 session. Reports said Gadde, originally from Telangana state in India, had been spending the long weekend of July 4 in the waterfall area.

“One person died and another was rescued at Barberville Falls in Poestenkill on Sunday. The Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office says the person who died was a man not from the area,” a local news report said on Monday.

Multiple crews responded to the scene after two men swimming got into trouble. The man who was rescued was saved by a Good Samaritan, News10.com quoted the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office as saying. Gadde’s death marks the list of increasing instances of Indians, especially students, dying an untimely death in the US.

Similarly, Toaquiza entered the US In June of that year. She was initially detained by Border Patrol but was released into the country after she claimed her life was in danger back in Ecuador from an ex-romantic partner. It was not clear whether she was referring to Chacaguasay-Ilbis.

Following the murder, Chacaguasay-Ilbis surrendered before the police. He is now charged with second-degree murder and concealment of a human corpse. During his appearance in Syracuse City Court, he claimed he couldn't recall anything and he was heavily drunk at the time of the incident.

It is suspected that Jayanthi had a fall in the bathroom, and her death went unnoticed since the doors of the house remained closed and no one visited their house the last three days.

When the police team looked for the source of the stench, it found her mother’s body in the bathroom. The presence of maggots on Jayanthi’s body suggested that she may have passed away at least three days earlier.

A case has been registered at the Kundapur Town police station, with investigations underway about the cause of death.

The heartbreaking incident has exposed the vulnerability of families comprising of elderly parents and dependent children suffering from mental health issues.

Mentally challenged woman starves as her mother lay dead, later dies in hospital

In Uttar&nbsp;Pradesh's&nbsp;Sitapur, a man brutally murdered his five family members before committing suicide. The incident unfolded on Saturday (May 11) in Palhapur village of Rampur Mathura in Sitapur, nearly 90 kilometres from Lucknow.

The accused, identified as 42-year-old Anurag Singh, first shot dead his 65-year-old mother Savitri.&nbsp;Then, he fatally attacked his 40-year-old&nbsp;wife&nbsp;Priyanka&nbsp;with&nbsp;a hammer.&nbsp;

The man then turned his attention towards his three children —Ashwini (12), Aarna (9) and Advik (6). He threw all of them off the roof of his house resulting in two more casualties while Advik sustained critical injuries. Later, Advik also died in hospital.

The man then shot himself dead.

As per media reports,&nbsp;the man was mentally challenged&nbsp;and a drug&nbsp;addict,&nbsp;who used to frequently argue with his family members as they wanted to send him to a de-addiction centre.

Before he went on a rampage on Saturday, the man&nbsp;is believed&nbsp;to have had an altercation with his family members.

Now,&nbsp;police have revealed that the explosive-laden parcel was sent by none other than his wife’s former boyfriend.

Police revealed that Jayantibhai Balusingh Vanjara, 31, dispatched the parcel to Jeetubhai’s house.&nbsp;

On the surface, it looked like a tape recorder.&nbsp;

As soon as Jeetubhai plugged it in, it exploded, causing serious injuries to his eyes and chest.

The parcel was delivered through an auto-rickshaw.

The auto-rickshaw driver was soon apprehended by the police and the ensuing interrogation revealed that the parcel was sent by Jayantibhai.

Based on the driver’s statements, the accused was soon located and arrested.

Police said the charges have been filed under IPC and the IT Act.

The police inspector quoted the victim as saying she received a call from a man who claimed that he was a representative of a courier firm and that NCB had intercepted a Taiwan-bound drug parcel with her name as the sender.

“He told her that the parcel contained drugs, passports and other incriminating material. The man then told her that he was connecting the call with an NCB officer for an inquiry," the inspector said.

The fraudsters got the victim on a video call on the pretext of getting her bank details. They also asked the IT professional to transfer money to a bank account to ‘verify the banking details’.

India: Man murders friend after being pressed for ‘unnatural sex,’ detained

A 30-year-old Non-resident Indian (NRI) was allegedly killed by her in-laws in Punjab’s Kapurthala district last week in a property dispute case. The victim, identified as Rajdeep Kaur, had been living in the US for the last seven years. However, she was called to India by her in-laws on the pretext of attending a wedding.&nbsp;

Police have now registered a case against the victim’s in-laws Jasdev Singh, Baljit Kaur and husband Manjinder Singh under Sections 302 (murder), 120-b (criminal conspiracy) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Police said the husband of the victim is living in the US illegally and is reportedly involved in the conspiracy of Kaur’s murder and has been charged.

"It is believed the woman was murdered as she had a hefty life insurance coverage," said Babandeep Singh, DSP of Sultanpur Lodhi. The family allegedly put the dead body of the victim in a freezer for two days before informing the police.

<h2>How the matter came to light</h2>

The victim’s mother, who lives in the UK, received a call from Kaur’s in-laws about the demise of her daughter. Nirmal Kaur immediately travelled to India and lodged a complaint with Sultanpur Lodhi police on January 25.

Nirmal Kaur said that her daughter was continuously subjected to torture by her husband after she refused to transfer all her property in&nbsp;his name for immigration purposes. "My daughter was called to India based on a lie about a wedding. It was a plan to kill her," she alleged.

The post-mortem report of former model Divya Pahuja has revealed that she was shot in the head at point-blank range. Media reports claimed that a bullet was removed from the ex-model’s head during the autopsy. Earlier on January 13, her body was recovered from a canal in Haryana's Fatehabad district. The body was recovered based on a tip-off from accused Balraj Gill, who along with another person, had disposed&nbsp;of the body. Gill was arrested last week at an airport in Kolkata.

According to Gurugram police, Divya Pahuja was shot dead at the Hotel City Point by five people because she had allegedly been extorting money from the hotel owner, 56-year-old Abhijeet Singh, by blackmailing him with his "obscene pictures".

The CCTV footage from the hotel shows the accused, including Abhijeet, dragging Pahuja’s dead body draped in white cloth across the lobby. They later fled the scene in a car with the body in the boot.

The autopsy report revealed fatal levels of acetone in her blood, leading to organ failure. Acetone, commonly found in nail polish remover, was determined to have been ingested shortly before Iris was hospitalised in critical condition on June 25, 2023.

Owens is charged with criminal homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault of a child, and endangering the welfare of a child. The severity of these charges is heightened by Owens's alleged attempts to find ways to deceive a polygraph test.

“The details of this case are heartbreaking. It is hard to fathom someone taking deliberate steps to harm a completely helpless child, and then mislead investigators about what happened. The investigation shows that, for months, the defendant conducted meticulous research on how certain substances harm children. She then allegedly acted on her findings,” the New York Post quoted Attorney General Henry as saying.

The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) suspended several officials after thieves managed to steal the light system of one of the runways of the country’s busiest airport. The light system at the 2.7km long domestic runway of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) was installed in November last year. Light systems help aircraft land and take off during nighttime.

Meanwhile, the FAAN has also initiated an investigation into the matter and efforts are underway to “arrest the criminals [and] recover what's missing", according to a FAAN spokesperson.

It must be noted that the domestic runway at the international airport was closed for maintenance since March 13, capitalising on which the thieves made their move.

<h2>FAAN workers involved in theft?</h2>

Nigeria’s PUNCH newspaper quoted a source as saying that FAAN’s own officials were involved in the theft, who had exclusive access to the restricted areas at the airport.&nbsp;

“The regular incursion and stealing of safety components at the airports are carried out by a syndicate, consisting of some workers of the agencies, who have access to the restricted areas and accomplices from outside,” The PUNCH wrote quoting the unnamed source.

You are very aware that there are many agencies within the airport, including the different ones that are supposed to be taking care of security there. According to a report by ICIR news outlet, the domestic runway of the MMIA Lagos operated for almost 16 years without airfield lighting. However, in November 2022, FAAN reopened the runway for flight services after successfully installing the CAT III Airfield ground lighting system.
