<p>Civil rights and privacy experts warn that the spread of such wearable continuous-monitoring devices could lead to new forms of surveillance that outlast the pandemic — ushering into the real world the same kind of extensive tracking that companies like Facebook and Google have instituted online. They also caution that some wearable sensors could enable employers, colleges or law enforcement agencies to reconstruct people’s locations or social networks, chilling their ability to meet and speak freely. And they say these data-mining risks could disproportionately affect certain workers or students, like immigrants living in the country illegally or political activists.</p>

Shops and services are open and so are the universities, schools, factories and offices. Public transport for locals too is functioning smoothly. Despite some difficulties created by the extraordinary Covid-19 pandemic around the world as also in DPRK, the morale of all of us at the Embassy is high.</p>

<p><strong>Ambassador Atul Malhari Gotsurve: </strong>DPRK had moved very early to combat Covid-19 with several anti-pandemic measures which continue till date. The Government here took the first step of snapping all international air links with the outside world as early as 1 st February 2020. Similarly, the international land borders with China and Russia were also sealed with no one allowed to either enter or exit the country. <p>"There are more than 100 candidates for developing a vaccine working at different levels. The WHO is coordinating the efforts," the health minister was quoted as saying.</p>

<p>"India is also actively contributing to that effort. We have 14 vaccine candidates that are working on different levels," he said. "Industry, the academic world is contributing to it and our Ministry of Science is helping the Department of Biotechnology in all such efforts."</p>

<p>Financial support and regulatory clearance will be provided to those who are working on this, Vardhan said.</p>

<p>"Out of these 14, four vaccine candidates, in the next three-five months, may enter the clinical trial stage. Right now, they are in the pre-clinical trial phase," the minister said.</p>

<p>"It's very difficult to predict when a vaccine will come, but as a doctor, I can say that the process it involves, one year would be a modest estimate," he said. "Till the vaccine is not developed, people should use social vaccines like the mask and social distancing."</p>

4 coronavirus vaccine candidates may enter clinical trial phase in 3-5 months: Health minister

<p>A woman in Goa has tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday. The woman had travelled to Goa in a Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram Rajdhani train on Saturday.</p>

<p>She was tested through rapid testing- TrueNat. Her samples have also been sent to&nbsp;the virology lab of the state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for final confirmation, officials said.</p>

<p>As soon as the passengers reached the destination, they were&nbsp;taken to the district hospital for testing, and later quarantined at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao city, the official said.</p>

<p>In all, the district hospital has tested over 500 samples drawn from different sources since Saturday, he said. Goa, now, has 16 active cases.</p>

Students in France to return to schools; parents disagree

<p>India commenced its biggest evacuation operation on Thursday. The repatriation operation has been&nbsp;started by government of India with Air India to bring back Indian nationals stranded abroad.</p>

<p>Air India will be bringing back almost 14,600 Indians back to the country in 64 flights, within the first week of operation. The main focus is to bring back Indians from the Gulf countries&nbsp;where 3 lakh people are stranded, Air India will also be operating evacuation flights to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Kuwait, Muscat, Bahrain, Malaysia, Philippines, Bangladesh, the US and the UK.</p>

<p>Till now, three days after bookings opened, a total of 67,833 requests have been registered for repatriation. These requests are from students, migrant workers, short-term visa holders faced with expiry of visas and also patients seeking treatment for terminal illness and other medical emergencies.</p>

<p>First two flights landed in Kerala on Thursday night.&nbsp;The first repatriation flight brought back around 175 stranded Indians from Abu Dhabi and landed in Kochi around 10:15pm(local time) on Thursday.&nbsp;The second flight landed at Kozhikode airport at 11:30pm, which brought back close to 400 Indian from Dubai.</p>

<p>Air India AI381 flight&nbsp;from Singapore also landed in Delhi around 12pm on Friday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per the guidelines, the facility owners will have to declare whether they want to have their facility has quarantine zone or isolation zones, as both cannot be in one facility.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A single-occupancy room with attached washrooms on paid basis will be alloted to cases. The tariff of the room will have to be decided in consultation with the government.</p>

<p>Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood will be at the airport to welcome the Chinese medical experts and to express their gratitude to the government and people of China.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It may be recalled that China is extending full support to Pakistan in its efforts to contain the Coronavirus. China’s assistance to Pakistan so far includes 12,000 test kits, 3,00,000 masks, 10,000 protective suits, and support to build an isolation hospital.</p>

<p>A considerable amount of donations from private sources from China has also arrived in Pakistan. Alibaba Foundation and Jack Ma Foundation have donated 50,000 test kits and 5,00,000 face masks.&nbsp;</p>

<p>China also handed over two tons of masks, test kits, ventilators, medical protective clothes through Khunjerab.&nbsp;</p>
