<p>"I can only thank god I became the reason for her rescue. They would have probably killed her," Deepika told WION, taking a deep sigh.</p>

<p>Once she was tipped off by someone whose identity remains undisclosed, she dialled a few numbers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The person who deserves the biggest applause here is who tipped me off and requested to help and intervene in this. And the next person is Pinky Malik, heading the one-stop Sakhi centre in Gurgaon. She has done a tremendous job," Deepika said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has called for strict action. "I feel happy that the Chief Minister has also taken cognizance of this," Deepika said.<br />

"I have personally been against media trials but in cases like these... there should be no mercy, " said Deepika, who is also an independent journalist.</p>

<p>"I don't think anyone would want to listen to any other side because there is no other side to this."&nbsp;</p>

<p>She recalled with pain what the accused, Manish Khattar, told her when the minor was rescued from his Gurgaon home. " (He) told me 'Maam maine blade se nahi kata hai.. but ha jalaya tha... flow flow me ho gaya... gussa aa raha tha..' (Maam, I did not cut with a blade... but yes I burnt her... it just happened in anger.)"</p>

<p>"I don't know how someone human can become to be someone like that."</p>

<p>"I was there at that time and he was like 'maaf kar do hume... drama kar rahe the waha pe baith ke...' (Please forgive us.. they were making a scene there)"&nbsp;</p>

<p>"They were just scared that they have been caught. I did not see any remorse in their eyes, neither Kamaljeet kaur nor Manish Khattar. They were constantly saying 'humari bhi ek beti hai.. humari choti si beti hai...' (We also have a kid .. she is very young.)"</p>

<p>Notably, the couple has a three-year-old daughter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The victim calls Deepika 'didi' (elder sister). &nbsp;"She told me this couple has CCTV in their house. Somebody will think that CCTV was to check for their own 3.5 years old daughter. But she told me the couple was using it to check on her whether she has stolen something to eat so that they could beat her in the evening."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Deepika visits the girl daily in the hospital. "I spoke to her... She came here because of her younger brother, who is very ill and his medical bills are causing a financial strain."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"This is why she came here along with her sister to earn something. Her parents are very poor."</p>

<p>"She often says... 'mujhe toh apne ghar he jana hai' (I want to go back to my home.)"&nbsp;</p>

<p>There are reports that the girl's sister is missing. On this, Deepika said, "I think the girl's elder sister is a major but I think she is barely 18 or something. Now that the parents are here they will try to find out if there is any development on this."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The girl has two sisters and two brothers. "I told her that we can get you into a boarding school but she just wants to help her brother with his illness."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Life badi mushkil hai (Life is difficult)...I would not say the girl is really well given what she has gone through. I think it will take her months to recover but she is in a much better state. From the day I was tipped off about her, a lot has changed."&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The injuries or the brutality done to her are unimaginable. For two days, I have just been thinking about how educated people can do something like this. It is a horror that is unspeakable."</p>

<p>This is not an isolated incident, as Deepika said, "Today another 11-year-old girl has been rescued from another location in Gurgaon. I am very happy that we have been able to help not just this girl but probably many many more who are undergoing such kind of torture. There are people who are now calling and informing authorities about such incidents."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The couple hired the girl reportedly from a placement agency. WION asked Deepika how can these agencies be targeted. "The authorities need to proactively work against it in coordination with Resident Welfare Associations to ensure that no minors are employed."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The NGO Shakti Vahini has come forward to help the girl and assistance has been provided to them. The Jharkhand police have also arrived in Delhi along with the parents of the minor.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The scientist came to the conclusion after examining data from the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing on 3,335 adults, aged 50 to 89, who did not have diabetes at the start of the study.</p>

<p>The data showed that 76 per cent of people in the analysis were married or living together.</p>

<p>The researchers found that the nature and quality of the relationship had little to no effect to the average levels of blood glucose, indicating that having a supportive or strained relationship was less important than just having a relationship at all.</p>

<p>&nbsp;“Overall, our results suggested that marital/cohabitating relationships were inversely related to HbA1c levels regardless of dimensions of spousal support or strain,” they said.</p>

<p>The chief executive of the London-based charity Africans Unite Against Child Abuse (Afruca), Debbie Ariyo told The Guardian, "Organ harvesting is a massive problem in Nigeria itself. This is the first prosecution in the UK that I’m aware of."</p>

<p>However, Jessica, who is believed to have Mike's Italian heritage, took a DNA test recently and discovered that she had no Italian roots. It all happened because Jessica was planning to spend her 30th birthday in Italy. Just before she left, her parents bought her an Ancestry.com DNA testing kit as a Christmas present.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Jessica and her husband had been planning to use the results of the test to find distant relatives.</p>

<p>Her parents claimed that for 30 years they had no idea about any of this. "I'm like, wait a minute, I carried a total stranger's child, you know, for nine months, and who in the world is this other half of this child belong to?" Jeanine said.</p>

<p>The fertility clinic claims that it is taking the allegation seriously. A Summa Health system spokesperson in a statement said, "We take this allegation seriously and understand the impact this has on the family. At this point, we have not met with the family or conducted testing of our own."</p>

But they were not able to find another agency in the Knox County area that was willing to provide them the services that Tennessee required for them to be eligible to adopt an out-of-state child."</p>

<p>Tennessee's Department of Children’s Services declined to comment on the matter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Gabriel Rutan-Ram, in a statement, criticised the organization. “It’s infuriating to learn our tax dollars are funding discrimination against us,” he said.&nbsp;</p>

In a first, Indian couple to host wedding reception in Metaverse

<p>A Belgian couple has grabbed headlines after they named their 11 children based on different variations of the same four English alphabets – A, E, L, and X.</p>

<p>Gwenny Blanckaert and Marino Vaneeno named their children— Alex (13), Axel (12), Xela (11), Lexa (10), Xael (9), Xeal (8), Exla (5), Leax (4), Xale (2), Elax (1) and Alxe (6 months).</p>

<p>The family of seven girls and four boys is also expecting baby number 12 – a boy – in April next year.</p>

<p>Gwenny, 32, revealed that the tradition began with the birth of their second child.</p>

<p>“My elder eldest son’s name is Alex, after Marino's stepfather because it was a beautiful name,” she told HLN, a Dutch news portal.</p>

The approval for this flight was taken as joy ride for the wedding group,” read the statement from SpiceJet.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the airline, the agent and passengers were repeatedly briefed in detail on the Covid safety norms at the airport and in-flight, and also about the DGCA protocols restricting photography and videography.</p>

<p>“Despite repeated requests and reminders the passengers did not follow Covid guidelines and the airline is taking appropriate action as per rules,” the airline added.</p>

<p>For one week from Monday, Tamil Nadu is in a total lockdown, where even grocery and vegetable shops would be shut. Vegetables and fruits would be sold on carts and vehicles that are authorised to do so by the civic bodies of respective districts. Only medical shops, fuel stations, ATMs and essential government offices will be open, while banks can function with one-third staff. E-commerce deliveries can operate from 8 am until 6 pm. Tamil Nadu: Couple’s sky-high wedding creates problem, DGCA takes flight crew off duty

<p>The couple had recently returned from India where they had taken a holy dip at Haridwar's Har Ki Pauri during the Maha Kumbh, a religious congregation of Hindu seers and devotees, Nepal's Health Ministry had said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Amazon confirmed the incident and explained how it was an "unlikely&nbsp;string of events" that resulted in Alexa sending the audio clips to random people rather than Alexa spying on users.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Alexa, which comes with Echo speakers and other gadgets, starts recording after it hears its name or another "wake word" selected by users. This means that an utterance quite like Alexa, even from a TV commercial, can activate a device.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Echo woke up due to a word in background conversation sounding like 'Alexa.' Then, the subsequent conversation was heard as a 'send message' request," Amazon said in a statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Subsequent conversation was heard as a 'send message' request," the company added. "At which point, Alexa said out loud 'To whom?' At which point, the background conversation was interpreted as a name in the customer's contact list."</p>

<p>A couple in Kolkata were allegedly beaten up on Tuesday after they were seen hugging in the metro station, reports said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The incident happened at the Dum Dum Metro Station when a young couple was thrashed by the elderly crowd in the metro, the two managed to escape after a group of youngsters came to the rescue.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Reports say that the couple had been standing in the senior citizen compartment because there was a lot of rush, because of which the boy had kept his hand on the girl's shoulder for protection. The two were initially verbally harassed by the crowd when finally the girl replied and the situation got worse.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, as per reports, the metro authorities have denied any such happening, saying that did not spot anything in the CCTV cameras.&nbsp;</p>

In an interaction with a leading tabloid, when Riteish was enquired about working with Genelia again, he said,&nbsp;I would love to do a Marathi film with Genelia but we need a script first. Also, she has to decide if she&#39;s ready to make a comeback to films.&quot;</p>
