The police are still investigating the incident and looking to find out what caused the clash and whether the fire was set intentionally or was it accidental.

An AFP journalist saw two bodies at the Jenin hospital morgue, where witnesses said Israeli&nbsp;forces&nbsp;had also taken the bodies of two other&nbsp;Palestinians.

An Israeli border police spokesman said two other bodies were in the custody of his&nbsp;forces.

"Heavy gunfire was opened at a short range by a large number" of people, the Israeli official said.

The inhabitants of Beita have held a number of demonstrations in recent weeks against the Israeli occupation and the settlement expansion, triggering violent confrontations.

The&nbsp;clashes&nbsp;with the Israeli security&nbsp;forces&nbsp;have claimed the lives of several&nbsp;Palestinians&nbsp;and left hundreds more injured.

Beita residents have been demonstrating since May against the wildcat Jewish settlement of Eviatar set up nearby without official permission from Israeli authorities.

The settlement was evacuated in early July but Israeli army troops remain stationed there while authorities deliberate on its fate.

If the settlement is approved, its founders will be allowed to take up residence there more permanently.

Beita's residents have vowed to continue their campaign until the army also leaves the outpost.

The army has struggled to impose control since the army returned to power on February&nbsp;1, overthrowing elected leader Aug San Suu Kyi after a decade of democratic reforms had opened up the once isolated Southeast Asian state. 
 
Anti-junta protests take place daily in many parts of a country that has been paralysed by strikes, while conflicts with ethnic army groups that oppose the junta have flared in Myanmar`s borderlands. 
 
On Saturday, clashes spread to the Ayeyarwady region, an important rice growing area that has large populations of both the Bamar majority ethnic group, from which much of the army draws much of its strength, and the Karen minority. 
 
Clashes broke out before dawn at Kyonpyaw, some 150 km (100 miles) northwest of Yangon, when soldiers came to arrest a man suspected of harbouring weapons and were met by a bomb blast, a resident told Reuters. 
 
"The people in the village only have crossbows and there are a lot of casualties on the people`s side," said the resident, who asked not to be identified for fear of retribution. Khit Thit Media and BBC Burmese language news said three people had been killed. 
 
Reuters was unable to reach a junta spokesman for comment on that or reports of fighting elsewhere in Myanmar.

Israel's attorney-general secured a deferment on Sunday of an Israeli Supreme Court hearing on the evictions, a session that had threatened to stoke more violence in the holy city and heighten international concern.&nbsp;

"Mr Sullivan also reiterated the United States’ serious concerns about the potential evictions of Palestinian families from their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood," the White House statement said.&nbsp;

Sullivan and Ben-Shabbat "agreed that the launching of rocket attacks and incendiary balloons from Gaza towards Israel is unacceptable and must be condemned," the White House added.&nbsp;

It said Sullivan also expressed the Biden administration's commitment to Israel's security and to supporting peace and stability throughout the Middle East and would remain fully engaged in the days ahead to promote calm in Jerusalem.&nbsp;

US expresses 'serious concerns' over Jerusalem clashes, evictions

Kyrgyzstan&nbsp;said a&nbsp;ceasefire&nbsp;with&nbsp;Tajikistan&nbsp;was&nbsp;holding&nbsp;on Sunday, as it accused citizens from its Central Asian neighbour of crimes during&nbsp;the pair's worst&nbsp;clashes&nbsp;at their contested border in decades.

The Kyrgyz interior ministry said that casualties on its side had risen to over 160 with 34 deaths, 31 of whom were civilians.

The ministry also said it had opened 11 criminal cases targeting citizens of&nbsp;Tajikistan&nbsp;in connection with the violence, including investigations into murder and illegal border crossings.

Clashes&nbsp;between communities over land and water along the long-contested border are regular occurrences, with border guards often getting involved.

But the violence that erupted on Thursday was by far the most serious during the ex-Soviet pair's 30 years of independence.

Tajikistan, a closed authoritarian state, is understood to have also suffered casualties and damages, but has made far fewer statements on the conflict.

By Thursday evening a&nbsp;ceasefire&nbsp;deal had been drawn up, but&nbsp;Kyrgyzstan&nbsp;acknowledged that both sides had continued shooting on Friday and Saturday, before the national security chiefs met to reinforce the&nbsp;ceasefire&nbsp;on Saturday afternoon.

Clashes on Gaza border as Ramzan violence flares in Jerusalem 

Five people have been killed in a clash between police and workers at an under-construction power plant&nbsp;in Chittagong District in Bangladesh. At least 25 people were injured. Four policemen have been seriously injured. Angry workers set fire to the power plant.

The power plant is located in Banshkhali Upazila of Chittagong district. The incident took place on Saturday morning when workers initiated a protest for their demands of&nbsp;salary and allowances ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, police said.

Banshkhali Police Station Inspector Azizul Islam said that power plant authorities had a dispute with the workers over salary and allowances.&nbsp;

On Saturday morning, when the police moved-in to control protesting workers, they were attacked. Four workers died in the ensuing clash&nbsp;while a fifth passed away at Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Faisal Karim, a doctor at the hospital confirmed this.

As per eyewitnesses, the police opened fire at one stage during the clash.

Earlier, on April 4, 2016, police had clashed with local villagers at&nbsp;the same power plant. Six people were killed in that incident on that day.

The 1,320 MW coal-fired thermal power plant is being constructed in&nbsp;a joint venture by&nbsp;S Alam Group and China's Sefco Company. The project is being set up on 600 acres of land.

Earlier, there were disputes over acquisition of&nbsp;land&nbsp;as well. Dissatisfied locals had alleged that S Alam group was acquiring land forcibly without any&nbsp;rehabilitation. There were also complaints of salt and shrimp farmers going out of business if the plant was built.
