Jennifer Garner was having a fun outing at Comic-Con San Diego before she found herself stuck in an elevator at the Hard Rock Hotel on Saturday (Jul 27). The 52-year-old actress, who was at the convention to promote her reprisal of the role of Elektra in the upcoming film Deadpool & Wolverine, documented the ordeal on her Instagram.

Garner shared a series of videos capturing the moments she and several others were trapped in the elevator. The first responders arrived after an hour and 12 minutes.

In the initial video, just two minutes into being stuck, Garner addressed her followers, saying, "Hey guys, um, we're stuck on this elevator." She humorously added, "I could use a Wolverine, I could use a Deadpool, I could use someone," expressing her wish for a superhero rescue. She also noted that she would be taking the stairs in the future.

In the second video, Garner commented on the heat inside the elevator, saying, "It's toasty, I'm sphitzy, I need to blot."

A cornerstone feature of the Olympic Games, Olympic Hospitality Houses serve as a platform for participating countries to showcase their culture, hospitality, and national pride to athletes, media, visitors, and supporters. These houses serve as a space for fans to celebrate and support their athletes/ teams during competitions, and act as a “home away from home” for athletes and their families during the Games.

The Olympic House also becomes a place for fans of the country’s team to gather for event “watch-parties” and celebrations during competitive events, and in some cases, athletes who medal make an appearance during the day or evening.

India House at the Paris Games will serve as a showcase of India to the world, to fans from across the world, to key stakeholders from the global sports world, Indian travellers, media and athletes.
India’s shooting campaign in the Paris 2024 Olympics started with disappointment as two Indian teams in action during the qualification round in the 10 m air rifle mixed team events failed to make it to the medal matches on Saturday.

Two Indian pairs, Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh and Arjun Babuta and Ramita Jindal, took part in the 10 m air rifle mixed teams qualifiers.
Amid a sea of denim shorts, selfies, sequins and thumping bass lines, the setting could easily be mistaken for Coachella or Glastonbury. But the Sunny Hill festival in Pristina is helping turn Kosovo into a go-to destination during Europe's summer festival season, thanks in large part to its founder: Dua Lipa.

For years, Kosovo was associated with its bloody war against Serbia that pitted ethnic Albania insurgents against Serb forces in the late 1990s, leaving thousands dead and triggering a refugee crisis. But the arrival of Lipa on the international pop scene has helped showcase Kosovo's other side -- young, talented and full of ambition.

With more than 87 million followers on Instagram and more than 25 million albums sold, the British-born singer of Kosovo descent is one of the biggest pop stars in the world. Alongside an endless tour schedule, film roles and hosting a popular podcast, Lipa remains one of the most vocal promoters of all things Kosovo.

"I'm very happy that she's promoting our country with these big, big artists and bringing them to our country," said Rita Ramadani, 19. For its fifth edition, Sunny Hill boasts a roster of performers that rivals more established festivals.

Headliners this year include British rap sensation Stormzy and the king of afrobeat, Burna Boy. Bebe Rexha -- who is also of ethnic Albanian origin -- electrified the crowd as she sang her global hit "Me, Myself and I" while speaking Albanian with the audience in between songs.

According to organisers, around 45 per cent of the festival's tickets this year were sold abroad. Priced at 200 euros a ticket -- which is nearly half the average monthly salary in Kosovo -- few local youngsters are able to afford entry to the four-day festival.

Serena Williams' husband mistaken for 'umbrella holder' at Olympics opening ceremony

Last night’s Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony was a marvellous event as it featured performances from music icons like Celine Dion and Lady Gaga. However, not everything went according to plan for the latter.

Lady Gaga, 38, took to a specially constructed stage on the Seine River to deliver a breathtaking performance of the French classic "Mon Truc en Plume." Decked out in a black leotard with a large feathered pom-pom, she and her ten dancers, all wearing custom Dior costumes, performed to the T at the fast-paced number.

The vibrant choreography, featuring rented pom poms from the Le Lido archive, brought a modern twist to the traditional French cabaret style.

Despite the energy and excitement, the performance faced a major hiccup. Due to the rain earlier in the day, the stage was slippery, causing one of the dancers to lose his footing and fall off-stage. His pink pom poms dropped out of sight as he fell backwards, landing behind a speaker.

Impressively, the dancer quickly recovered, leaping back to his feet and rejoining the performance as Lady Gaga continued her routine without missing a beat.

Megan Fox is not pregnant, despite recent rumours sparked by her appearance in the new music video for Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) and Jelly Roll's duet, "Lonely Road." The video, which premiered on Friday, features Fox playing a character with a growing baby bump, leading fans to speculate about her real-life status.

In the video, MGK and Jelly Roll, humorously nicknamed "KellyRoll," put their own spin on John Denver's classic "Take Me Home, Country Roads." The narrative shows Fox's character pregnant, with scenes of MGK, 34, tenderly kissing her belly. After eight months, she is seen holding a baby girl while visiting her partner in jail, introducing Baby Violet Leika.

The rumours were put to rest when Violet’s actual mother, Anna Cejka, confirmed on Instagram that it was her baby who appeared in the music video's final scene and that Megan wasn't pregnant.

Fox, 38, is the mother of three sons, Noah Shannon, 11, Bodhi Ransom, 10, and Journey River, 7, with her ex-husband Brian Austin Green. MGK has a 15-year-old daughter, Casie, with his ex Emma Cannon.

Fox recently discussed her relationship with MGK on the Call Her Daddy podcast, describing him as her "twin soul" and acknowledging their deep connection. "I can't say for sure what the capacity will be, but I will always be connected to him somehow," she told host Alex Cooper in March.

In a joint Instagram post on July 23, MGK and Jelly Roll revealed that the song took "2 years, [across] 8 different studios, 4 different countries, [and] changed the key 4 times" before they "finally got it right."

Both artists expressed their mutual admiration and friendship on Instagram. Jelly Roll, 39, reflected on their history, and wrote, "What makes this collab so beautiful is its two guys that came from the exact same kinda place with less than zero per cent chance of making it out. We have known each other for at least 15 years now. In true young dumb fashion, it was a tumultuous beginning because I was one of the many people who judged him before I gave him a chance. But over time, I’ve had the honour of watching him become one of the biggest artists on earth and one of the best fathers and humans on earth."

MGK responded with his own message of gratitude, saying, "Jelly, you are a living, breathing badass and a kindred soul who has shown me the path of redemption and what it looks like to believe in yourself against all odds. From us beefing 12 years ago to putting out what I believe will be the biggest hit of our careers, I’m proud to call you my brother. Life feels better knowing you’ve got my back. This lonely road ain’t so lonely, my friend."

It is easy to see why Those About To Die, Roland Emmerich's racy new TV drama set in Ancient Rome, is frequently described by critics as Game of Thrones with added chariot racing and gladiators. The series, starring Anthony Hopkins as Emperor Vespasian, does not shy away from sex and violence as its characters scheme and plot in a world of bloody brawls and bacchanalian brothels.

Reviews have almost without exception drawn a direct line from its Circus Maximus and Colosseum to the fictional Thrones continent of Westeros -- though not always favourably. But Emmerich, the German director of blockbuster movies Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow, told AFP that his first foray into television wears its influences proudly on its toga sleeve.

"It was inspired... I'm actually pleased" by the comparison to the HBO smash hit fantasy series, said Emmerich. "That was the goal. To make it as big as possible, and pack even more action in," he said.

The series finds Hopkins' emperor in his final days, forced to choose an heir from his two sons -- budding military general Titus, and scheming politician Domitian. But much of the action takes place in the bowels of the Circus Maximus and the Colosseum, where Rome's seedy underbelly meets to bet on the races and fights.

Rome is on the cusp of yet another rebellion, as starving citizens turn their ire on the imperial family.
The complaint, filed on Sunday, July 21, alleges that Brown, 35, initiated the violence on July 19 by throwing the first punch. Overpeck, a former correctional officer, now asserts that his injuries are so severe that he is unable to work.

Between 1997 and 2005, Stubbs, Benson and Payton died. Fakir continued performing with new vocalists for many years until medical issues forced him to stop in late 2023. "I'm not going to ever retire," he wrote in his 2022 memoir. "The Lord can retire me, but I'm not going into the dark night quietly. I know I'm not in the fourth quarter anymore." "I'm in overtime." Lady Gaga spotted in Paris, sparks Olympic opening ceremony rumours

Stars including Angelina Jolie, Lady Gaga and Nicole Kidman are expected on the red carpet at Venice's film festival this year, with 21 films competing for the coveted Golden Lion, organisers said Tuesday. Hollywood pals George Clooney and Brad Pitt will also be on the Lido island in Venice's lagoon for the world's oldest movie festival, running from August 28 to September 7.

The most hotly awaited films include Joker: Folie a deux by director Todd Phillips, the sequel to Joker, once again starring Joaquin Phoenix -- but this time alongside Lady Gaga.

Other hot tickets are Maria by Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larrain, in which Jolie plays Greek soprano Maria Callas during her final days, and Spanish director Pedro Almodovar's latest -- and his first film in English -- The Room Next Door, starring Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore.

Kidman will star in Babygirl, an erotic thriller by Dutch director Halina Reijn about a woman who swaps domestic boredom for a sadomasochistic relationship, while Jude Law plays an FBI agent in white supremacist circles in The Order, by Australian Justin Kurzel.

In light relief, Clooney and Pitt star as lone fixers forced to work together in the out-of-competition action comedy Wolfs by American director Jon Watts. Five Italian films have made the cut, including Queer, the latest by Luca Guadagnino, starring former James Bond actor Daniel Craig in what festival director Alberto Barbera said was "the performance of his life".

Directors Fabio Grassadonia and Antonio Piazza are competing with Sicilian Letters, inspired by the real-life story of a Sicilian mafia boss and fugitive Matteo Messina Denaro, and starring Elio Germano, Barbora Bobulova, and Toni Servillo.

The 81st edition of the festival will also mark the return of the Brazilian Walter Salles -- 12 years after his last film -- with I'm Still Here, based on the true story of a woman searching for her husband during the dictatorship.

The jury will be chaired this year by French actress Isabelle Huppert. The festival will open with the out-of-competition film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the sequel to Tim Burton's iconic 1988 film, starring Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Willem Dafoe, and Monica Bellucci.
