The IPL 2023 auction is here and on Friday, the ten franchises will be looking to add more firepower to their squads with 405 cricketers going under the hammer. Ahead of the auction, JioCinema conducted a mock one which produced some extremely exciting results. The auction included experts of the game like Eoin Morgan, Chris Gayle, Robin Uthappa, Suresh Raina, Anil Kumble, RP Singh, Murali Karthik and Scott Styris – all of them representing the various different teams.

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green emerged as the highest-valued pick in the auction with Styris bidding Rs 20 crore while representing Sunrisers Hyderabad. While Green is expected to command a massive price, the 20 crore-mark has never been breached in the history of the tournament.

South African all-rounder Chris Morris is currently the costliest player in history as he was picked for Rs 16.25 crore by Rajasthan Royals in the 2021 edition of the competition.

Sam Curran was picked in the mock auction for Rs 19.5 crore while Ben Stokes fetched a high sum of Rs 19 crore. Odean Smith (8.5 crore) and Nicholas Pooran (8.5 crore) were also major picks.

Green, Curran and Stokes are the major names going into the auction and teams like Sunrisers, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings needing a major all-rounder in their ranks. With not many options in the auction, it is a possibility that any one of them can actually end up commanding such a big price.

The 23-year-old earned&nbsp;praise&nbsp;from experts and fans alike after his brilliant performance in the ICC T20 World Cup as he finished the tournament with 11 wickets in seven matches. He even picked up a hat-trick during the Super 12 encounter against New Zealand.

"Sam Curran has done really well for England as well as for the Chennai Super Kings, and there is Ben Stokes, who has led England well. When asked about domestic players, Raina also spoke about his former Chennai Super Kings teammate N Jagadeesan who has been brilliant in the domestic season. The wicketkeeper-batsman is expected to attract bids from teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders.

"N Jagadeesan has a very good cricketing brain, and he bats so deep, is a very smart, calculative batsman. He has done really well for Tamil Nadu, watch out for him," Raina added according to PTI.

The list of all the players who have registered their names for the IPL 2023 mini-auction is out. The auction that is set to take place in Kochi on December 23rd will see a total of 991 players going under the hammer including 185 capped, 786 uncapped, and 20 players from associate nations. Out of those, players like Ben Stokes, Sam Curran, Cameron Green, and even Kane Williamson are in the highest bid category – that is 2 crores (base price). Other notable names in the 2-crore category are Nicholas Pooran, Chris Jordan, Rilee Rossouw, and Rassie van der Dussen.

Big names like Pat Cummins, who got picked by KKR this season, alongside his teammate Mitchell Starc, opted to pull out of the mini-auction. With the IPL Player Registration now getting closed on November 30th, no more players will be eligible to put their names forward.

In reply, opener Cameron Green put India on the back foot with his 30-ball 61 before Matthew Wade (45 not out off 21) took the visitors over the line with four balls to spare.

With the win, Australia took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Earlier, Rahul (55 off 35 balls) scored his second consecutive fifty which included four boundaries and three maximums. The in-form Pandya pummelled the visiting bowlers into submission with his unbeaten 30-ball 71. The all-rounder smashed the ball seven times to the fence and five times over it to take India over the 200-run mark.

Australia record highest T20I run-chase vs India, win Mohali run-feast by 4 wickets

Australia continued to dominate the proceedings on Day 2 of the ongoing second Ashes Test against England after a great start on the&nbsp;opening day. Resuming their innings from 221/2 on Day 2, the Aussie batters continued their dominant run and took the England bowlers to the cleaners in the pink-ball encounter. While Marnus Labuschagne notched up his century, Steve Smith (93) and Alex Carey (51) helped Australia cross the 400-run mark comfortably.

England did manage to stage a brief fightback on Day 2 when they picked three wickets in the afternoon session of play. Labuschagne, Travis Head and Cameron Green were all dismissed in quick succession leaving Australia in a spot of bother before Smith and Carey combined to put on a 91-run stand for the sixth wicket and steady the ship for the hosts.

All-rounder Green was dismissed for just 2 runs after being cleaned by Ben Stokes and his dismissal was accurately predicted by former Australia captain Ricky Ponting in the commentary box. Ponting, who is commentating for 7Cricket in the ongoing Ashes 2021-22, had said the deliveries will be straighter for Green as he had&nbsp;a very open front foot.

Stokes did exactly that and bowled a jaffa to beat the right-hander's defence and shatter his stumps. It was a brilliant delivery from the England all-rounder and even better analysis from Ponting, who saw in advance what was coming for Green.

"A very distinct change of tactics now for Cam Green. They will be a lot fuller and lot straighter, they will target his stumps. He sets up with a very open front foot, that is generally a sign of someone worried about LBW and does not want their front foot too far across in the line of the stumps," Ponting said on air before Stokes cleaned up Green.

Cricket Australia on Thursday announced the limited-overs squad for their white-ball series against India with some new names and experienced players getting a call-up for the much-awaited series starting in November.

While all-rounder Moises Henriques earned a well-deserved recall, highly-rated young all-rounder Cameron Green was also included in the Australia squad. Green, 21, was included in the squad for three ODIs and as many T20Is starting next month after the youngster smashed a classy 197 in Sheffield Shield last week.

Green was termed as the ‘best Australia had since Ricky Ponting’ by Greg Chappell.&nbsp;

"Cameron's domestic form has been outstanding and he has carried it through for Western Australia this summer," said national selector Trevor Hohns.&nbsp;

"Moises is a tremendous cricketer with loads of experience and is a great person to have around the group," said Hohns.&nbsp; 
"His form was extremely impressive in leading the Sixers to the BBL title last summer and he has played well at the start of this season."

Nathan Lyon, however, was saved for the four-match Test series against India – for which Australia are yet to announce the squad. But Adam Zampa continued to feature.&nbsp;
