<p>The comments came after former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer wrote on social media platform X that India could win the series in Australia for the third time if their fast bowlers stay fit with Mayank being the dark horse.</p>

<p>“If Bumrah, Shami and Siraj stay fit and are able to play most of the series, India have a great opportunity for a hat-trick down under. Arshdeep could bring the left-arm option. And Mayank Yadav dark horse provided he's fit and available. #AUSvIND,” Jaffer had posted.</p>

<p>Kohli's lack of runs was talked about a lot and with the hundred&nbsp;he gave his critics a befitting reply. Talking to his RCB teammate and friend AB de Villiers, Kohli explained what that hundred meant to him.</p>

<p>“So, when I made the hundred and converted it into a big one, that gave me a sense of calmness, relaxation, and excitement again,” Kohli told ABD while speaking on the former South African’s YouTube channel.</p>

<p>“You kind of become comfortable with your game, and your thinking, and your heart is not rising before the next practice session. You eventually want to be in such a space. And that particular hundred gave me a grounded feeling back. Just from a cricketing perspective. In life, I was pretty happy and relaxed. But when playing also, you want to be in that space as much as possible,” he added.</p>

<p>Kohli also touched upon how much importance he gives to Test cricket and how it requires patience to score runs even on batting-friendly pitches.</p>

<p>“I and AB have been in touch for a while and he knows how much I value Test cricket. Even though, I had performed in T20Is again and scored ODI centuries and all that stuff, I always felt that white-ball cricket, for me, was more of a thing where if you go in with the right frame of mind on a particular day or for a certain period of time, you can get past the hurdles.</p>

<p>“But even though we played the Test on a wicket that is not offering too much to the bowlers, you still have to bat for good 7-8 hours sometimes, because they (Australia) are that patient with their fields and they could go defensive. It was just testing me constantly. That is something that I have always cherished as a cricketer.</p>

<p>Kohli, despite not getting hundreds in Test cricket since his century against Bangladesh in November 2019, was hitting runs and getting decent scores to his name. The dashing batter, however, said that he wasn't completely satisfied with the outcomes.</p>

<p>“I was getting decent scores, but if you ask me if I was happy with what I was doing. I wasn’t. I pride myself in performing for the team to the best of my ability, I certainly wasn’t doing that enough. I wanted to score big runs, that’s something that always propelled me, whether it was at home or away. I was doing that to a certain extent. But I was not having the same kind of impact that I had before,” he added.</p>

<p>Notably, Virat is currently second on the list most international hundreds with 75 to his name, and trails only Sachin Tendulkar who has 100 international hundreds to his name.</p>

'Packed our suitcases': Ex-India player shares UNHEARD tale from famous 2001 Kolkata Test win vs Australia

<p>India's star batsman Virat Kohli had a memorable last Test during the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar trophy as he scored his 28th Test ton after a gap of more than three years. The batsman was awarded Player-of-the-Match trophy for his performance in the drawn Test.</p>

<p>Now, the batsman is back in Mumbai where he lives with his Bollywood actress wife Anushka Sharma for the ODI leg of Australia's India tour. The star player, meanwhile, shared a post on his Instagram with the Norway-based dance group Quick Style who are also in the town.</p>

<p>Notably, Waugh after the Indore Test - the third in the series, had said that he can't believe Kohli has gone that long without a ton.</p>

<p>Axar became the fifth cricketer to hit 500 runs and take 50 wickets in 12 Tests. He now has 513 runs and 50 wickets in the purest format of the game. In addition, he became only the second Indian to achieve the historic feat after veteran R Ashwin (596 runs and 63 wickets).</p>

<p>India's ace batter Virat Kohli hit his 28th Test century on day four of the Ahmedabad Test against Australia, ending a 1,205-day long draught. The century was Kohli's 75th in international cricket as he chases former India batsman Sachin Tendulkar's 100 international centuries.</p>

<p>Kohli, however, on his way to the century, broke another record, a common norm for him. The latest record is of number of innings taken by Kohli to reach to 75 international century mark. While Sachin took 566 innings to reach the same number of tons, Kohli reached there in his 552nd inning only.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Although, it may not be possible for Kohli to reach the 100-ton mark, he certainly has a shot at breaking Sachin's record of most ODI centuries. Notably, Sachin retired with 51 Test and 49 ODI centuries - a record in both formats of the game.</p>

On the way to his century, Kohli broke yet another batting record as he surpassed Brain Lara to become second-highest run scorer against Australia in international cricket.</p>

<p>Kohli achieved the feat on day three of the Test which he ended on 59 not out. The right-hand batsman, at the end of day three, had total 4,729 runs across all formats against Australia, going past West Indian great Brian Lara's 4,714-run mark. Sachin Tendulkar leads the list of most runs scored against Australia with a total of 6,707 runs in 110 international matches at an average of 49.68.</p>

<p>Indian batsman Virat Kohli became only the fifth batter to score 4,000 Test runs at home for India, breaking yet another batting record during day three of the Ahmedabad Test against Australia. Kohli, who already holds numerous records, joined the list with other Indian greats namely Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Sunil Gavaskar.</p>

<p>Kohli achieved the feat in his 50th home Test with an average north of 58. The list of most Test runs at home for India is being led by former stalwart Sachin Tendulkar, who has 7,216 runs to his name in 94 Tests. Second on the list is India coach Rahul Dravid with 5,598 runs in 70 Test.</p>
