The airport security personnel arrested the passenger. As per an official statement released by Akasa Air, “Akasa Air flight QP 1148, flying from Pune to Delhi at 12.07 am on October 21, 2023, and carrying 185 passengers and six crew members on board, received a security alert shortly after take-off.”

“As per safety and security procedures, the plane was diverted to Mumbai. The Captain followed all required emergency procedures and landed safely at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at 12.42 a.m.,” the statement further read.

Speaking about the incident, a police official said, “The CISF officer informed the Mumbai Police Control about the incident at around 2.30 am after which the luggage of the passenger of that flight was searched. The BDDS team as well as police officers were also present there. But during the investigation, the police did not find any suspicious object there.” 
 
The officer further stated that one of the relatives of the passenger was also travelling with him on that flight. He informed the police officials that the man had taken medicine for chest pain and was speaking nonsense under its influence. After carrying out a thorough investigation, the flight departed for Delhi from Mumbai airport around 6 a.m. 
 
The matter is being further investigated by the Mumbai Police.

Another letter bomb sent to journalist Carlos Vera was timely intercepted by the police at a courier company in Guayaquil and did not reach its destination, Zapata said.

“There is an absolutely clear message to silence journalists," the minister said.

Meanwhile, the government in its statement slammed the incident and said it "categorically rejects any form of violence perpetrated against journalists and media outlets."

“Any attempt to intimidate journalism and freedom of expression is repugnant," it added.

Sandwiched between Colombia and Peru—the world's two largest cocaine producers—Ecuador has emerged to be the hub for the global drug trade in recent years.

Guayaquil is one of its most violent cities, with frequent clashes between criminal gangs disputing drug trafficking routes.

The prosecutors also charged Farooq with possession of an explosive substance as well as an imitation firearm at the hospital premises.

A staff member of the Northeastern University in Boston, United States was injured after a&nbsp;package detonated inside a campus building, according to CNN. “The staff member sustained minor injuries and is being treated,” Shannon Nargi, a spokesperson for Northeastern University, told the news channel.&nbsp;

The package was delivered to Holmes Hall, Nargi added.&nbsp;

The police confirmed that no one was seriously injured but did not comment on how the package arrived at the university. Holmes Hall currently houses the creative writing center of the university.&nbsp;

Officer Andre Watson, a spokesman for the Police Department, told reporters that the&nbsp;45-year-old man, who worked at the university, sustained minor hand injuries and was taken to the area hospital.&nbsp;

The police were working with the Boston Fire Department, Boston Emergency Medical Services and the bomb squad to understand the cause of the detonation and to understand any further threats.&nbsp;

Holmes Hall was completely evacuated by the authorities as a precautionary measure and people were asked to stay away from the area. The classes were also cancelled in several buildings of the university as the police questioned people and searched the area to understand the cause of the detonation.&nbsp;

According to a local TV station, WCVB reporter Mike Beaudet was teaching a class in the building when the detonation took place but the people in attendance said that they did not hear the explosion.&nbsp;

Following the incident, The Massachusetts Institute of Technology&nbsp;and&nbsp;Harvard University have alerted their students of the situation and have increased patrols, according to NCB Boston.&nbsp;

In a tweet, Italy's culture minister Dario Franceschini said on Thursday that they want to help Ukraine in the rebuilding process.

“Italy is ready to rebuild the Theatre of Mariupol. The cabinet of Ministers has approved my proposal to offer Ukraine the resources and means to rebuild it as soon as possible. Theaters of all countries belong to the whole of humanity (sic)," he said.

Chaotic scenes were witnessed at a Delhi court on Thursday morning after a low-intensity explosion occurred on the premises, injuring a police officer.

The Delhi Police said the blast took place inside courtroom 102 of the metropolitan magistrate in Delhi’s northwest Rohini where they address traffic-related cases.

According to reports,&nbsp;a laptop bag is likely to be the source of the explosion which occurred around 10.30 am.

“The suspicious explosion at the Rohini Court today happened in a laptop bag, while a court proceeding was underway. One injured person has been admitted to a hospital,” police officer Pranav Tayal said was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

All the proceedings at the court have been suspended and all gates have been shut, officials said.

The injured has been identified as police constable Rajiv Kumar, posted with Sultanpuri police station. He was taken to Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital for treatment.

In an official statement, the Delhi Police said, “An incident of minor low-intensity explosion in a laptop bag has occurred at Rohini court complex at around 10.30 am. The spot has been cordoned off. Forensic and NSG teams are inspecting and examining it.”

The special cell of the Delhi Police is investigating the incident. The Special Commissioner of Police - Law and Order reached the site of the incident. A National Security Guard (NSG) team was also called.

Fire officials said they received information about the explosion at 10.40 am, following which seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

This comes two months after armed men posing as lawyers killed a gangster inside Rohini district court in September before being gunned down by police personnel.

They opened fire when gangster Jitender Maan alias Gogi was produced before the court.

At least four people were injured, one of them severely, after a World War II bomb exploded on a railway construction site in Munich, Germany. Local media reports state that the blast was heard several kilometres away and it scattered debris for hundreds of metres.&nbsp;

The incident took place when the construction workers were doing some drilling work near Donnersberger Bridge, close to the main station.&nbsp;

In the aftermath, rail operator Deutsche Bahn had to suspend its services on the affected lines. Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Hermann revealed that the bomb weighed 250kgs.&nbsp;

The war had battered the country with 1.5 million tonnes of bombs that killed nearly 600,000 people. As per officials, 15 per cent of the bombs failed to explode. Many of these are buried in the ground.&nbsp;

This is not the first time that such an incident has taken place. WWII bombs are regularly discovered during construction work in Germany. However, they are usually defused by experts.&nbsp;

Earlier, in October 2020, the biggest WWII bomb ever found in Poland exploded underwater while being defused by Polish sappers.&nbsp;

The bomb was found in the Piast Canal which connects the Baltic Sea with the Oder River, and was dropped by the RAF in 1945 in an attack on the German cruiser Lutzow.

The site is near the town of Swinoujscie in northwest Poland where a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal was opened in 2016.

Dubbed the "earthquake" bomb, the Tallboy bomb was used by Britain's Royal Air Force (RAF) and weighs nearly 5,400 kg, including 2,400 kg of explosive, the Navy said.&nbsp;

As per officials, 15 per cent of the bombs failed to explode. Many of these are buried in the ground. This is not the first time that such an incident has taken place. WWII bombs are regularly discovered during construction work in Germany. However, they are usually defused by experts. Earlier, in October 2020, the biggest WWII bomb ever found in Poland exploded underwater while being defused by Polish sappers. The bomb was found in the Piast Canal which connects the Baltic Sea with the Oder River, and was dropped by the RAF in 1945 in an attack on the German cruiser Lutzow. The site is near the town of Swinoujscie in northwest Poland where a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal was opened in 2016. Dubbed the "earthquake" bomb, the Tallboy bomb was used by Britain's Royal Air Force (RAF) and weighs nearly 5,400 kg, including 2,400 kg of explosive, the Navy said. (With inputs from agencies)
